For this purpose, a music- making activity was conducted with 19 students majoring in Early Childhood Education at a university in the G region, and data were collected and analyzed using a mixed methods research approach. The results of this study are as follows. First, the music-making lessons had a substantial impact on the creative competence of pre-service early childhood teachers. Second, the pre-service early childhood teachers' experiences in music-making were categorized as 'Facing Unfamiliarity,' 'Challenging and Communication,' and 'Growing Up.' Feierabend의 Conversational Solfège (CS) 교수법을 이론적으로 조명하고, 이를 바탕으로 교육현장에 적용 가능한 실질적인 교수 학습 방안을 모색하는 것이다. The study found that 14 competencies were highly reflected: Literacy, ICT/Digital literacy, Cooperation/Collaboration, Critical thinking, Problem solving, Self—regulation/Self-control, Empathy, Respect, Learning to learn, Student Agency, Co-Agency, Anticipation, Action, and Reflection. Second, there were 7 competencies that were less reflective: Numeracy, Data literacy, Persistence/Resilience, Trust, Computational thinking/Programming/Coding, Financial literacy, and Entrepreneurship. In conclusion, the study found that the 2022 revised Music Curriculum has a fairly high overall alignment with the OECD competencies. Second, the study confirmed that ’music’ is an appropriate subject for the development of a number of competencies. {"title":"The Analysis of the Connections between Elementary School Integrated Subject and 3rd-grade Music Subject: Focusing on the Music Pieces","authors":"Songie Park, Sohyung Park, Jisu Han","doi":"10.30775/kmes.52.4.19","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.30775/kmes.52.4.19","url":null,"abstract":"The purpose of this study was to analyze the connections between elementary school integrated subject and 3rd-grade music subject by focusing on the common music pieces in textbooks reflecting the 2015 revised curriculum. A total of 14 music pieces were analyzed by applying the following criteria for connection analysis: ‘Unrelated’, ‘Repetition’, ‘Expansion’, ‘Advanced’, and ‘Developed’. The results of the study showed that all 14 music pieces were presented as various scores in the integrated textbook, but all of them were presented as staff notation in the third grade textbook. In addition, the most common Musical elements and concepts presented in the common music pieces were ‘Jangdan(Rhythm Cycle), Se of Jangdan(Accent of Rhythm Cycle)’ in 10 cases and ‘Beats, Measure’ in 6 cases. When comparing the main learning activities, the number of the common music pieces with ‘Advanced’ and ‘Developed’ level of connections through expanding musical concepts was the highest at 7 music pieces, followed by 4 music pieces with varying levels of connections and 3 music pieces with low connections. The overall structure, goals, contents, and achievement standards were analyzed by referring to various curriculum- related documents, literature, theories, and previous studies. The analysis revealed that the 2022 revised music curriculum is founded on the paradigm of active learning. It was found that competencies, core(central) ideas, areas, contents, and achievement standards are organically linked around the music activities in human daily life. Using the \"Twelve Continuum Transmission Framework\" (TCTF) proposed by Huib Schippers in 2010 as the research framework, the researcher conducted semi-structured face-to-face interviews with nine interviewees, including inheritors of the \"The Five Major Tunes of Lunan,\" music teachers of Tancheng County's First Experimental Primary School, teachers from Shandong University of the Arts and School of Music of Linyi University. The interview content mainly involves 11 questions in three fields: issues of context, modes of transmission, and dimensions of interaction. The results show significant differences in the modes of \"The Five Major Tunes of Lunan\" in school education and folk natural transmission. What worries the researcher is that when traditional music that is naturally inherited in folk is taught in a formal school setting, the risk of unsuccessful transmission will increase. For this purpose, the plastic instruments used in 72 music textbooks published from the 1st to the 2015 revised curriculum were organized and analyzed. As a result of this study, first, plastic recorder and melodica(melodion) were used for the first time in music textbooks applied to the 2nd curriculum(1963-1973). Second, plastic instruments such as recorder, melodion, tambourine, sogo drum, egg shakers, and boomwhackers were found in music textbooks. Lastly, the number of musical instruments made of plastic has increased slightly in authorized music textbooks.
