The research question was developed based on the acronym PCC (Population/Concept/Context), resulting in the following formulation: \"Which tools available in the literature assess wound infections?\"</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The analysis included 32 wound infection assessment tools. Of these, 26 using clinical signs and symptoms of infection distributed across scales, checklists, classification systems, and completion forms were identified. Data collection was done through an electronic questionnaire applied between February and May 2023, composed of questions about socio-professional and performance characteristics. The data were organized by lexicographic analysis by IRAMUTEQ, analyzed from the perspective of Bardin's content analysis.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Fifty-five experts who worked in the five Brazilian regions participated, with the largest participation from the Northeast and Southeast regions, both with 41.8% of professionals. The majority reported being women, white, mostly married or in a stable union. From the association of classes presented in the dendrogram generated by IRAMUTEQ, five categories related to the Descending Hierarchical Classification lexical terms were generated: 1) Creation of forensic nursing and its political development in national territory; 2) Establishment of environments for forensic nursing practice according to national/cultural reality; 3) Already established competencies of Brazilian forensic nursing; 4) Paths to success in Brazilian forensic nursing; and 5) Perspectives for Brazilian forensic nursing.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>The study allowed contextualizing the current scenario of Brazilian forensic nursing. The results revealed violence as the focus of the actions developed by the specialty. A questionnaire and semi-structured interviews were used, which were recorded and transcribed, and analyzed by content analysis. The findings were discussed with five principles of institutional analysis, such as instituted, instituting, institutionalization, implication and over-implication.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Eighteen people participated in the interviews, and data analysis enabled the construction of four classes: i) Gender stereotypes in the social context; ii) Physical interventions and their contexts; iii) Personal and social experiences and relationships with healthcare professionals; iv) Suffering related to passability.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>There is no dissociation between social and personal influences in the transition process. They hope that gender-affirming procedures will reduce dysphoria and promote harmony between self-perception and hetero-perception. The acquired passability can strengthen the ability to deal with violence. The search took place in October 2023, with studies published in full in Portuguese, English or Spanish, without time limits and indexed in databases and portals of theses and dissertations. Two reviewers read the title and abstract of the studies and exported the data to a Microsoft Excel® spreadsheet for grouping and removing duplicates. Data synthesis was done in written and visual form, using diagrams.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The search resulted in 961 studies, with 38 being eligible to compose the sample. Women aged 18 to 49 who had prenatal care up to two years prior to the survey (1,851 in 2013 and 2,819 in 2019) were studied. Prevalence rates were estimated with their 95% Confidence Intervals for the different guidelines. This included a scoping review following the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) parameters conducted in the Dimensions and Eureka metasearch engines and the PubMed, Embase, Scielo, CINAHL, and ScienceDirect databases.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Of 6073 articles, 85 met inclusion criteria. The transition from hospital to home of the patient and his/her family caregiver after discharge from the hospital requires them to take on care tasks for which they are not always prepared. Adapting to this transition involves understanding it, coping with it; having support; anticipating risks; transferring instructions; adhering to therapy; and monitoring and recording the health condition.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>The adaptation of the patient and his/her family caregiver during the hospital-home transition is a comprehensive response to the responsibility of caring for his/her health. Sources of different typologies and prosopographical nature were collected. Inferential analysis was performed using Pearson's chi-square, Fisher's exact and Mann-Whitney tests, with a significance level of 5%.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The prevalence of acute kidney injury was 31.4%. Face-to-face structured interviews were conducted using a phenomenological approach, with data analyzed via Colaizzi seven-step method.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Key weight management methods identified included medication, diet, exercise, and habit correction. Coping attitudes varied, with some patients exhibiting positive or negative responses. Experiences revealed short-term adherence to dietary control but difficulty maintaining exercise routines. Patients expressed a need for support from medical staff and family, as well as interest in medications and traditional Chinese medicine to aid weight loss.</p><p><strong>Conclusion: </strong>Insights into the weight management experiences and needs of obese PCOS patients can guide medical staff in addressing these challenges. {"title":"Effectiveness of passive ankle pump exercise on lower limb swelling in neonates with a peripherally inserted central catheter: a quasi-experimental study.","authors":"Xiaoman Yu, Linlin Chen, Qian Wu, Wen Bi, Shanshan Yu","doi":"10.1590/1980-220X-REEUSP-2024-0275en","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1590/1980-220X-REEUSP-2024-0275en","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To explore whether passive ankle pump exercises can relieve swelling in the lower limbs of newborns with a peripherally inserted central catheter.</p><p><strong>Method: </strong>A total of 129 neonates hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit of a tertiary hospital in Qingdao, from January to December 2023, were selected as the study subjects. They were divided into the control group (n = 64) and the intervention group (n = 65) by a convenient sampling method. The control group received routine intervention, while the intervention group was submitted to passive ankle pump exercise in addition to the routine intervention.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The changes in leg circumference over time in the two groups of newborns showed inconsistent trends (F = 93.99, p = 0.001). The passive ankle pump exercise reduced the increase in leg circumference by 17% in the intervention group.
