Thus, a deconstruction of knowledge epistemological root and reconstructing it is needed. In this case, understanding the role of men and women within the context of literary works as representation of community’s view. This study was aimed at describing and reconstructing three aspects: women role conflicts toward the utilization of conservational values, and women efforts to resolve women roles’ conflicts that arise within the literary work with environmental perspective. This study employed descriptive qualitative method with ecofeminist approach, an approach related to environmental science, especially environmental conservation. Information were collected through interview, documentation, and library study with recording and taking notes. The literary work used in this study was the Ronggeng Dukuh Paruk novel by Ahmad Thohari. Based on the analysis, the conflicts routed from the double burden of the woman. There were three types of conflict found in this novel, namely 1) time-based conflict happened when woman’s time devoted for conservation works reduced her time for other roles; 2) strain-based conflict, when the pressure from one role influences her other role; and 3) behavior-based conflict when there is a mismatch of expected behavioral pattern of two parties. Woman solved this conflict through self-motivation, time management, openness, and additional extrinsic motivation. These conflicts are relevant to women’s efforts in environmental conservations.","PeriodicalId":448829,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Science, Education and Technology (ISET 2020)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115258885","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In conducting the data, the descriptive qualitative design formed by document analysis is employed in this study. The idioms are supposed to clearly translate the source language into the target language since it also consists of a culture that plays a pivotal role in delivering meaning. Following Baker’s (1992) classification, this study tries to find out the strategy used in translating the idioms into a similar meaning to avoid ambiguity in order to show naturalness and readability since it has unpredictable meaning and grammar. Thus, the strategy used in translating the idioms will specify the quality of their meanings). Based on the findings, the most dominant strategies used in the movie is Translation by Phrase with the frequency 82 data (37.8%). The second is Using an Idiom of Similar Meaning but Dissimilar Form with the frequency of 79 data (36.4%). In this process, educational institutions try to get the best students among the other candidates according to criteria determined by institutions. In the last 3 years, the Ministry of Education of Indonesia was implementing a new admission system in Elementary, Junior and Senior High School, namely zone system. This paper introduces an approach to optimize admission of new students based on zone system by using Knapsack Problem – Fuzzy Inference System (FIS) Tsukamoto. Specifically, final score was considered as the output for making decision in the admission and 3 variables were used as data input such as: average score of exams, distance, and age. Knapsack problem was used to determine allocation of quota of each region for admission based on average score of exams of all students in a region. Then, data input will be processed by using FIS Tsukamoto to determine the final score of each student. In the last step, rank order list of new students of every region was made. The results show that knapsack problem – FIS Tsukamoto model might be suitable and helpful for proper admission of new students based on zone system.","PeriodicalId":448829,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Science, Education and Technology (ISET 2020)","volume":"296 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129539388","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In vocational education, it is important to ensure that students have competences that match the demands and needs of the industries. This study is aimed to investigate the language needs of Port and Shipping Management students of Politeknik Ilmu Pelayaran Semarang, based on their experience during the internship program. An open-ended questionnaire was used to survey the English-related-tasks that students have to perform, the difficulties that the students face when doing their tasks, and the language competence that the students want to improve based on their experience. 68 students participated in this research. All of them are eighth-semester students and had conducted internship program for twelve months. This study revealed that the four language skills: speaking, writing, listening, and reading are very important. Students have to make reports, engage in discussions, respond to clients or customers’ requests, handle documents, and reply letters. Students often find difficulties when doing their tasks due to limited grammar and vocabulary of formal language. They want to improve their communicative competence so that they can communicate fluently and accurately.","PeriodicalId":448829,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Science, Education and Technology (ISET 2020)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126796059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previously learning was done face-to-face in class or offline, but during the pandemic it was done online. One of them is learning Japanese especially speaking skills by online . One of the materials for speaking skills is presentation in Japanese. The topic of the presentation was \"Pandemic of Covid 19\". On this topic, students use the Gairaigo Japanese language vocabulary. This is due to lack of Japanese vocabulary knowledge related to covid 19. Gairaigo is an absorption word from a foreign language in Japanese, especially from Western European languages and does not include vocabulary from Chinese. The word uptake is already commonly used in daily life as is the original Japanese vocabulary. Therefore the purpose of this study is to determine the meaning of the equivalent gairaigo in Japanese. The research method is descriptive method that describes the equivalent of gairaigo associated with covid 19 with Japanese. Data collection techniques used are listening and note technique.
