The discussion considers two aspects: (1) the pedagogical justification, that is, if the option of using animals is equal to, less or more educationally effective than teaching without them; and (2) the ethical justification, which tries to answer the question of whether it is morally right to use and kill animals for students to learn. The aim of this essay is to reflect on the ways in which interdisciplinarity in economics and administrative studies, in particular, has contributed to the creation of a scientific community, which in turn promotes the formation and training of doctoral researchers. Using the normative life-course approach, we analyze patterns of transition to adulthood among Mexican youth. We then compare the trajectories of students with and without children who entered the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana-Azcapotzalco between 2006 and 2013. In general, the biographical and educational trajectories of female students with children differ significantly from the normative role assumed by higher education institutions. The policy, called the Integral Programs of Institutional Improvement (<span>pifi</span>), provides <span>upe</span> with competitive, performance-based subsidies administered through the federal government. Ortiz","doi":"10.1016/j.resu.2015.12.006","DOIUrl":"10.1016/j.resu.2015.12.006","url":null,"abstract":"<div><p>This article aims to identify how critical reading skills are assumed by advanced students in Educational Sciences at a public university in Resistencia-Chaco, Argentina.</p><p>The empirical information was gathered by the analysis of a text and a semi-structured interview; the findings were analyzed by a constant comparative method.</p><p>The results show that students express some critical reading skills identified by the textual analysis and global interpretation, also, the identification of the author's intentions and recognition authority sources. This paper analyzes the Mexican case in order to highlight the presence of the market in higher education, and in public universities in particular. I argue that the role of the state has been critical in promoting those changes, and in limiting the full exercise of university autonomy.
