Specifically, it seeks to contribute to the debate over sexual harassment by evaluating the prevalence of the phenomenon and offering prevention strategies. We conducted a transversal and descriptive study, through a survey applied to 901 women at the Instituto Politecnico Nacional (<span>ipn</span>) and 266 female students at a Federal Technological Institute. Daturi ,&nbsp;Marco A. de la Lama Zubirán","doi":"10.1016/j.resu.2015.12.002","DOIUrl":"10.1016/j.resu.2015.12.002","url":null,"abstract":"<div><p>This article analyzes the degree to which scientists at three Mexican higher education institutions ascribe to mainstream scientific protocols and values, as part of a broader analysis of the scientific research environment at those institutions. Specifically, we compared the views of full-time researchers at the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (<span>uaem</span>), with those of their counterparts at the leading universities in the capital, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (<span>unam</span>) and the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (<span>uam</span>). In total, we conducted interviews with 270 full-time researchers. It uses the case of the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Cuajimalpa, which has adopted environmental sustainability as a guiding principle in its plans and curricula. The study aims to identify the different categories, approaches and strategies in social responsibility currently underway in the sector from a theoretical research across a 10-year period. This review with secondary sources utilized the systematic review methodology based on the PRISMA method. In this article, we are interested in studying these little known actors, by reviewing the résumés of foreign scientists who arrived at the University of Sonora at the end of the last century. We recover the conceptual discussion about region sustainability and the arising challenges from the society and state demands, and global market pressures. The focus is placed on how often these higher education institutions pronouncements are being held. The main difficulties are characterized by a set of declarations and plans that remain in a purely formal level. We apply the glass ceiling metaphor –adopted for genre studies– to represent the barrier towards substantive and structural changes.
