В статье анализируются варианты передачи одного эпизода Евангелия на русский язык в разные исторические эпохи, а также эвфемизмы, занявшие определенное место в поэзии XIX–XX веков, интерес к которым трансформировался с изменением политической ситуации: идентифицируется модель их создания, выявляется степень семантического переосмысления. Объективность полученных результатов обеспечивают аутентичные материалы, комплексная методика (объединяющая методы контекстуального и сопоставительного анализа, логические когнитивные приемы анализа, синтеза, обобщения и абстрагирования). В исследовании выявлены и проанализированы языковые факты, отражающие уникальность русскоязычной языковой и концептуальной картины мира, не имеющей эквивалентов в иных языках, культурах, конфессиях и требующих особого отношения в переводе. Результаты исследования могут послужить дальнейшей оптимизации межъязыковой и межкультурной передачи религиозных и поэтических текстов, содержащих факты ассоциативно-образной эвфемии, и в целом способствовать облегчению межкультурного диалога посредством поэзии и межконфессиональных контактов.\u0000 In various historical periods in Russia, there was a need to manipulate public opinion for forming a certain attitude towards religion. The article analyzes an episode from the Gospel according to St. Matthew as interpreted during different historical times, euphemisms that appeared to be considerably significant in the poetry of the XIX–XX centuries, the interest in which transformed greatly with the change of the political situation: the model of creation is identified, the degree of semantic reinterpretation is revealed. The objectivity of the results obtained is ensured by authentic materials and comprehensive methodology (including methods of contextual and comparative analysis, logical cognitive techniques of analysis, synthesis, generalization and abstraction). The study identifies and analyzes linguistic facts reflecting the uniqueness of the Russian language and conceptual picture of the world, which has no equivalents in other languages, cultures or religious confessions and presents a special difficulty in translation. В нашей статье анализируется перевод названий чая и вина, таких как «Чай Фэнглу», «Чай Люань» и «Вино Тусу», в русском переводе романа «Сон в красном тереме», выполненном В. А. Панасюком (1995). Выявляются использованные стратегии перевода, а именно: повторение, перевод без учета культурной специфики, изменение орфографии, интерпретация текста, «ограниченная интернационализация» и опущение с целью разъяснения и популяризации стратегий передачи культурной специфики языковых единиц на примерах. Можно видеть, что стратегии перевода, предложенные Х. Ф. Айкселой еще четверть века назад, по-прежнему имеют большую практическую ценность.\u0000 Javier Franco Aixela's Translation Theory of culture-specific items (CSI) offers new ideas for translation practice. This article analyzes the translation of the names of tea and wine, such as “Fenglu Tea”, “Liuan Tea” and “Tusu Wine” in the Russian translation of the 1995 edition of Panasyuk’s “A Dream of Red Mansions”, and analyzes the translation strategies adopted by the translator, namely repetition, linguistic translation disregarding cultural connotations, spelling changes, text interpretation, limited internationalization and deletion in order to clarify and promote Javier Franco Aixela's translation strategy of “cultural exclusivity\" by examples. Methodologically it is based on Lakoff’s fundamental theory of structuring the objective world through metaphors. The study is held comparing the original and the Russian translation of J. Barnes’ novel “Talking it over”. Они помогают определить особенности, отличительные черты той или иной нации, того или иного типа языковой личности. В фокусе данной работы находится выявление способов достижения адекватной передачи в двух языках разных языковых групп личных имен древнеримских граждан и сохранения их содержательного и семантического потенциала. Их перевод как в русском, так и в испанском языке практически целиком обусловлен традицией, которая зачастую так разнится в обоих языках, что одно и то же имя может принимать совершенно неузнаваемую форму. Автор описывает структуру имен римлян, характеризует особенности их трансформации в историческом дискурсе других культур, приводит примеры из русского и испанского языков, которые существенно отличаются от оригинального варианта античного антропонима. Основное внимание уделяется исследованию приемов перевода культурно значимых имен собственных с точки зрения сохранения «чужого» в языке перевода и адаптации его в принимающей культуре.\u0000 Being a vital element, anthroponyms take an important part in the system of any language and culture. They help to determine peculiarities, distinctive features of this or that nation, this or that type of a language personality. The paper discusses the best ways of adequately translating historical personalities’ proper names and preserving their meaning and semantics as they are of primary importance for historical discourse. Their rendering both in Russian and Spanish is almost fully determined by the tradition, which is often so different across the languages that a name can take an unrecognizable form. The author describes the structure of the names of ancient Roman citizens, characterizes the features of their transformation in the historical discourse of other cultures, examples in Russian and Spanish, which differ significantly from the original version of ancient anthroponym. Концепты в составе категории силы передают нестереотипное знание как результат интеграции концептов или концептуальных областей (многоаспектное знание) в единую концептуальную структуру. К иерархически упорядоченным уровням категории силы в данной работе относятся базовый (или срединный), суперординатный и субординатный. К суперординатному уровню категории силы в немецкой философской традиции относится целый ряд концептов, выявленных в ходе исследования текстов классической немецкой философии и текстов, созданных в ее рамках: Vermögen, Fähigkeit, δύναμις, Bestrebung, Bewegung, Kausalität, Einzige, Lebensprincip, Substanz, Potenz. К базовому уровню категории силы в немецкой философской традиции относятся концепты Kraft, Geist, Genie, Macht, Stärke, Gewalt, Herrschaft, Einfluß, к субординатному — концепты Autorität, Gewalt, Herrschaft, Zwang. Особый исследовательский интерес вызывают случаи межуровневой интеграции концептов, например, „Macht“ и „Gewalt“, „Gewalt“ и „Herrschaft“, „Zwang“ и „Gewalt“.\u0000 The focus of the author’s research in this paper is the category of “Might” in the German philosophical tradition as a conceptual structure of integrative nature. The concepts composing the conceptual sphere of “Might” render non-stereotypical knowledge, obtainable as the result of integrating separate concepts or conceptual areas (multifold knowledge) into a unified conceptual structure. Thence the hierarchy of levels on which the category of “Might” is treated in the paper: the basic (or middle) level, the superordinate and the subordinate levels. The superordinate level of “Might” in the German philosophical tradition encompasses a number of concepts that revealed themselves, as research went on, in the classics of German philosophy as well as in other texts written within the frames of this philosophical tradition, namely: Vermögen, Fähigkeit, δύναμις, Bestrebung, Bewegung, Kausalität, Einzige, Lebensprincip, Substanz, Potenz. The basic level of “Might” as a philosophical category embraces the concepts of Kraft, Geist, Genie, Macht, Stärke, Gewalt, Herrschaft, Einfluß. The subordinate level of this category in the German philosophical tradition includes the concepts of Autorität, Gewalt, Herrschaft, Zwang. Исследуемая проблема рассматривается на материале передачи речи персонажа-ребенка, поскольку речевая характеристика персонажа является одним из ключевых компонентов формирования образа в художественном тексте.Источником материала для исследования выступил современный англоязычный роман Д. С. Фойера “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” (2005) и его перевод («Жутко громко и запредельно близко»), выполненный В. Аркановым в 2007 году. Метод сплошной выборки, сопоставительный метод и метод классификации послужили основными методами исследования в работе. Научная новизна заключается в применении категорий, определяющих качество перевода, к элементу системы текста, который ранее не подвергался подобному анализу. Авторы считают, что эквивалентность нельзя рассматривать, как это принято традиционно, в качестве основополагающей при анализе качества передачи речевой характеристики в художественном переводе, а общая система оценивания должна быть дополнена рядом новых характеристик.\u0000 The article is devoted to literary translation, the problem of its quality assessment in particular, and deals with the concepts of “equivalence” and “adequacy”. The characteristic features of a child-narrator’s speech and its translation are analyzed as the material for the study, since it is considered as one of the key components of an image.The analysis focuses on the novel by Jonathan Safran Foer “Extremely loud and incredibly close” (2005) and its translation into Russian by V. Arkanov (2007). The chief methods employed are: continuous sampling, comparative analysis, and classification. The novelty of research consists in applying some categories of quality assessment to the translation of a literary text element that has not previously been subjected to such an analysis. The authors believe that equivalence cannot be considered, as is traditionally accepted, as fundamental unit the crucial criterion while analyzing the quality of speech characteristics in literary translation. Если употребление официальных имен регламентировано правилами военной сферы, то неофициальные имена – это продукт имятворчества коллектива. У первых наблюдается статусность, которая объясняется наличием четкой иерархической системы в военной сфере. При неофициальном именовании лица формулируется субъективная оценка, граничащая между военной и обиходно-разговорной сферами общения. Закрытость армии создает предпосылки для возникновения языка – военного жаргона, элементом которого являются антропонимические прозвища – разряды номинации лица в неофициальном общении. Цель исследования заключается в социокультурной систематизации онимов в поле милитарной лексики английского языка. Эмпирическим материалом для исследования послужили прозвища военных, отобранные из англо-русских словарей военного сленга, энциклопедий. В статье описаны существующие подходы к трактовке понятий «неофициальное имя», «прозвище» в отечественной и зарубежной ономастике. Выявлены национально-культурные особенности неофициального именника военных. Систематизированы тематические группы антропонимических прозвищ в английском военном дискурсе, среди которых выделяются группы, указывающие на национальность, страну, срок и время службы военнослужащего, звание, должность, функциональные обязанности, внешние характеристики, черты характера, поступки носителя онима.\u0000 The purpose of this research is to identify the motives for creating anthroponomical nicknames in the military sphere. In the onomasticon of the military a special role belongs to the official and unofficial anthroponyms. If the use of official names in military discourse is regulated by the rules of the military sphere, unofficial names including anthroponymic nicknames are the product of the collective's names creativity, which occurs for various reasons. The specificity of the anthroponymic nickname in military discourse is due to the peculiarities of the implementation of this phenomenon on the border of the military and everyday spheres of human communication, in the process of which the subjectively formulated assessment is objectified. The closed nature of the army determines its corporatism and creates prerequisites for the emergence and development of a special language – military jargon, an element of which are anthroponymic nicknames – classes of the nomination of a person in informal communication. The empirical material for the study was the nicknames of the militaryselected by partial sampling from the English-Russian dictionaries of military slang and encyclopedias. Материалом исследования послужили тексты посланий американских президентов Конгрессу США 1908–1920 годов, официальные документы о пожилых людях общественных комитетов и комитетов Сената США за 1965, 2006 и 2019 годы. Тексты подвергались контент-анализу. Использован когнитивно-матричный метод. Установлены динамически меняющиеся когнитивные контексты EFFICIENCY, GOVERNMENT, JUSTICE, RIGHTS, HEALTH, ABUSE и подтверждена смысловая динамичность ядра матрицы. Результаты исследования расширяют теоретические основы изучения различных форматов знания, имеющих языковую репрезентацию. Материал и выводы, содержащиеся в работе, могут найти применение в курсах по дискурсивным практикам и дискурс-анализу, читаемых на уровне магистратуры и аспирантуры.\u0000 The paper addresses the problem of language and discourse representation of ageing and the aged as a social issue and cognitive phenomenon, which has been understudied so far. Knowledge about the aged being multi-faceted, cognitive matrix approach is applied to the analysis of its linguistic implementation. The study is focused on American social institutions discourse devoted to the aged during the period from 1908 to 2006. The research material are texts of American Presidents’ Messages to the Senate and House of Representatives, Older Americans Acts, documents of US Senate Special Committee on Aging. Matrix analysis reveals that knowledge about the aged shaped during the first two decades of the XXth century was embedded into three cognitive contexts EFFICIENCY, GOVERNMENT, JUSTICE, by the end of the XXth — beginning of the XXIst century their number increased by another three contexts RIGHTS, HEALTH, ABUSE. In each context, meanings and senses are not rigid and vary with time. Meanings incorporated into the matrix core relate to the mental subject — the aged — and change from too old for work, service, or a position to older people of our nation. Новизна состоит в рассмотрении текста как представляющего собой ментальное образование (концептуальную схему), актуализирующееся в процессе речевой деятельности как универсальная модель. Отступление от универсальной модели знака свидетельствует о стройной системе в структуре текста, дающей объяснение и истолкование «ускользающему смыслу», который, с точки зрения постмодернизма, не может быть однозначным. Текст выстраивается по принципу «матрешки»: тождество референции в каждом случае включает антецедент, коррелирующий с анафорой, которая, в свою очередь, становится антецедентом для своей анафоры. Для этого автор находит определенные синтаксические и коммуникативные структуры, выполняющие функции ремы, и таким образом формирует интерес и понимание читателя.\u0000 The paper deals with the postmodern discourse in “Rue des boutiques obscures” by Patrick Modiano. It has been done in the framework of psychosystematics. The novelty of the study is that the text is considered as some mental space (conceptual scheme) in the speech activity as a universal model. The deviation from the universal model of the sign indicates a strict system in the structure of the text, giving an explanation and interpretation of the “elusive meaning”, which cannot be unambiguous from the point of view of postmodernism. The text follows the principle of “matryoshka”: in each case, the reference identity includes an antecedent that correlates with the anaphora, which, in turn, becomes the antecedent for its own anaphora. To do this, the author finds certain syntactic and communicative structures that perform the function of the rheme. Обращение к данной теме продиктовано тем фактом, что сетевая литература как особое явление современности представляет собой платформу, адекватно фиксирующую не только актуальное состояние аксиологической социоматрицы, но и происходящие в ней динамические процессы, отражающие аксиологические сдвиги в масштабах лингвокультурного сообщества. Материалом для анализа послужили образцы произведений, относящихся к категории сверхмалых жанров англоязычной сетевой литературы; объем рассмотренных текстов колеблется в пределах от 6 до 30 слов. В ходе анализа выявлен набор аксиологических доминант, реализованных в рамках указанного дискурсивного сегмента; установлено их иерархическое соотношение; выделены ядерная и периферийные ценностные доминанты; определены языковые инструменты их вербализации. Сделан вывод о том, что ценностно-оценочные смыслы формируются на основе целостного художественного произведения как результат сложного синергийного взаимодействия разноуровневых текстовых элементов при консолидирующей роли воспринимающего сознания, как включенного в общую аксиосферу социума, так и обладающего индивидуальной аксиоматрицей. Кроме того, к значимым результатам проведенного исследования можно отнести выявление доминантного механизма манифестации ценности через констатацию утраты ценностно-значимого объекта. Также установлено, что вербализация ценностно окрашенных смыслов осуществляется главным образом посредством тематически релевантной лексики при минимальном использовании оценочно-маркированных единиц.\u0000 The article is focused on the analysis of linguoaxiological specifics of contemporary English web-literature. The relevance of the topic is determined by the fact that web literature, as a distinctive phenomenon of modern era, acts as a platform that adequately captures not only the current state of axiological sociomatrix, but also the dynamic processes occurring in it, reflecting axiological shifts within linguocultural community. The material for the study has been formed by the sample of literary works which belong to the category of ultra-small genre of English web literature; the volume of such texts ranges from 6 to 30 words. The analysis has revealed the set of axiological dominants manifested within the specified discourse space and has established their hierarchical relationship. The core and peripheral value dominants have been singled out; the language tools of their verbalization have been pinpointed. The conclusion is that value-evaluative meaning is constructed on the basis of the whole literary work as a result of complex synergistic interaction of multi-level textual elements with the consolidating role of perceiving consciousness which is involved both into the general axiosphere of society and the individual axiomatrix.
