Most of systems strongly rely on remaining anonymous throughout the whole endpoint exploitation process. Covert channels represent risk since they ex-ploit legitimate communications and network protocols to evade typical filtering. This firewall avoidance sees covert channels frequently used for malicious communication of intruders with systems they compromised, and thus a real threat to network security. While there are commercial tools to safeguard computer networks, novel applications such as automotive connectivity and V2X present new challenges. This paper focuses on the analysis of the recent ways of using covert channels and detecting them, but also on the state-of-the-art possibilities of protection against them. We investigate observing the timing covert channels behavior simulated via injected ICMP traffic into standard network communications. Most importantly, we concentrate on enhancing firewall with detection and prevention of such attack built-in features. The main contribution of the paper is design for detection timing covert channel threats utilizing detection methods based on statistical analysis. These detection methods are combined and implemented in one program as a simple host-based intrusion detection system (HIDS). As a result, the proposed design can analyze and detect timing covert channels, with the addition of taking preventive measures to block any future attempts to breach the security of an end device.","PeriodicalId":151344,"journal":{"name":"2022 20th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125202301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Within this, students synthesize a speed controller and verify the characteristics of the control loop by simulation. In order to improve the quality of teaching, with the possibility of verifying the required operation of the speed control loop, an experimental workstation with two motors having coupled shafts has been designed and implemented. The workstation allows experiments to be carried out using a user-friendly graphical user interface implemented in Matlab. Students do not have to deal with the configuration and control of the drives using dedicated engineering tools. The paper includes a description of the workstation, a description of the implemented software components, and illustrative experimental results.","PeriodicalId":151344,"journal":{"name":"2022 20th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"187 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116644837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From one day to the other home-office became widespread in a lot of professions. Education was one of the areas where we faced a lot of troubles. In 2020 spring semester we had to quickly transform all classical university courses to online ones without having appropriate knowledge about distance teaching methods and applications. During the semesters under emergency situation, we had to learn a lot to enhance our education quality. Students used to these comfortable and modern possibilities and now, we are back in school, and we face a new problem. Is it possible to go back and continue education the same way as we did before Covid-19 - can we step in the same river twice? We made a survey just after the starting of distance education and after the first semester back to classical face-to-face teaching to collect the opinions of students. In this paper we should like to present the experienced change in students' attitude which we should adopt into our work.","PeriodicalId":151344,"journal":{"name":"2022 20th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"150 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114847827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Instead of trivial economic benefits, it puts human society on a pedestal. The human needs and society as a whole are prioritised against the rise of material wealth. Cyberspace and physical space are merged to find a solution to social problems. The life-quality improvement, ageing society, climate change and sustainable development are new challenges that require a novel approach. People must stop working for the industry, but on the contrary, the industry must start working for people. There was always an idea conflict between the universities and the industry. Even though the industry is asking to train people for present today, the universities are teaching for tomorrow to be ready for the future. This is not enough anymore. Fulfilling the Industry 5.0 vision requires Universities 5.0. Excellent science needs to meet the needs of society. University research should be the pathfinder, while the industry is the accelerator of change. University students need a limitless global education, merging nations on the way to new knowledge and breakthrough discoveries. The industry should not be the only recipient of university graduates but the direct participant of the education and supporter of the technology transfer. This paper discusses the challenges and solutions in cooperation between technical universities and employers in the context of the Industry 5.0 trend. It also tries to answer the question of what are the limits of academic freedom in university education when dealing with the demands of Industry 5.0.","PeriodicalId":151344,"journal":{"name":"2022 20th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114258067","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the good readability, there are two screens - graphical and numerical one. In distinction to similar single-purpose solutions the presented GUI offers a possibility to perform the analysis user friendly and fast for a whole range of dynamical systems. The design is explained on examples from fields of multi-loop electrical circuits (based on the mesh method and the nodal analysis method) and of multi-mass translating and rotating mechanical systems. The four GUIs were unified into one file where the user chooses the kind of the system, system parameters, and impedance matrix in form of multiply tables. Based on an analogy among systems from various physical domains the user can easily modify the application for his/her needs.","PeriodicalId":151344,"journal":{"name":"2022 20th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129581767","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Technologies are conquering the market, the combination of content delivery and communication allow the creation of interactive processes. Each new generation grows with the support of devices that provide a constant flow of information wherever you are. Didactic has also suffered the effects of this revolution through the development of systems dedicated to e-learning. This study aimed to investigate a specific area of e-learning, the technological platforms that allow the creation and management of a distance learning path. In fact, it is possible to find a wide range on the market, but it is not easy to choose the one that best suit your need. For this reason, we focused on the evaluation methods of three of the most popular platforms, to analyze in detail the learning management tools.","PeriodicalId":151344,"journal":{"name":"2022 20th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115820891","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Literacy is inherently linked to the content intent of the ICETA conference. In the paper, we focus on general level of literacy, as well as ICT literacy in terms of evolutionary and innovative changes. Special attention is paid to the situation in our country. We began with computer literacy education already in the academic year 1962/1963. The experience from the previous period is also presented, which could serve as a “best practice” in ICT literacy implementation now and in the next period. The role and place of ICT literacy in the digital economy, its implmentation in our country and in the surrounding countries is also presented and discussed. The EU Digital Economy and Society Index - the DESI - which summarises the relevant indicators of Europe's digital performance is used. A connection of ICT literacy with innovation is discussed. We compare the situation in our country with the surrounding countries through the European Innovation Scoreboard 2021 We focus on new technologies, first of all to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and related knowledge and skills. The most attention to Artificial Intelligence (AI) is paid, because, paradoxically, we not only have a long tradition with AI, which is almost identical to the tradition of computer literacy education, but also good and bad experiences. In conclusion, we draw attention to the lessons learned from past experiences.","PeriodicalId":151344,"journal":{"name":"2022 20th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127100997","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
