Nephritis is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in patients with lupus. Many clinical parameters and laboratory markers can be used to evaluate disease activity and nephritis. Neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) are positively associated with inflammatory disorders. Objectives: To evaluate the correlation between NLR and PLR in peripheral blood and renal involvement in systemic lupus erythematosus. Methods: 63 patients were diagnosed with SLE according to the criteria of the Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics 2012 (SLICC 2012) and were treated at the Internal Medicine Department of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Thua Thien Hue province, in central Vietnam, from February 2020 to July 2021. This study included 41 SLE patients with lupus nephritis (LN) and 22 SLE patients without renal involvement. Results: The mean age of the study group was 31.67 ± 12.10. The most common age group was 21-50 years old, accounting for 69.8%. Females accounted for 90.5% and the female-to-male ratio stood at 9.5:1. Clinical\u0000and laboratory characteristics: acute cutaneous lupus 50.8%, subacute cutaneous lupus 11.1%, oral ulcers 27%, non - scarring alopecia 47.6%, arthritis 61.9%, pleural or pericardial effusion 30.2%, renal involvement 65.1%, neuropsychiatric damage 4.8%, anemia 81.0%, leukopenia 22.2%, neutropenia 11.1%, lymphopenia 41.3%, thrombocytopenia 15.9%, hemolytic anemia 15.9%, positive ANA antibody 61.9%, positive anti-ds DNA antibody 52.4%. Acute cutaneous lupus and arthritis in SLE patients without the nephritis group were higher than in the LN group (p < 0.05). Anemia, lymphopenia, thrombocytopenia, positive ANA, anti-ds DNA in the LN group were higher than SLE patients without nephritis (p < 0.05). SLE patients with LN had higher levels of NLR than those without nephritis. While PLR had no remarkable difference between these two groups. NLR was positively correlated with CRP, serum creatinine, and 24-hour urinary protein. PLR was positively correlated with the SLEDAI score. The best NLR to predict LN was 4.97 with a sensitivity of 51.2% and a specificity of 95.5% (AUC = 0.742, 95% CI, 0.617 - 0.866, p = 0.002). Conclusion: Most of the clinical\u0000manifestations in SLE patients according to SLICC 2012 criteria were lupus nephritis, arthritis, and acute cutaneous lupus. PLR was positively correlated with the SLEDAI score. NLR could predict renal involvement in SLE patients.\u0000Keywords: Lupus nephritis, ANA, anti-ds DNA, NLR, PLR.

Conduct oral examination, collect information, measure, observe and record indicators of malocclusion and orthodontic needs. Results: The results of the study on 220 students showed that the ratio of molars in the Angle I direction was the highest, accounting for 45%, and malocclusion was quited high (79.09%). Regarding the need for orthodontic treatment, according to DHCIOTN, 39.55% had little treatment and according to AC-IOTN, 36.6% had moderate treatment. The aims of this study was to compare the accuracy of CTP - crea (creatinine-modified Child Turcotte Pugh score) with traditional CTP and MELD score for predicting in rebleeding and mortality within first five days and 6-week in cirrhotic patients with acute variceal bleeding. Methods: Prospective study in 118 cirrhotic patients presenting with acute variceal bleeding were hospitalized and diagnosed by upper GI endoscopy submited to calculate CTP-, CTP - crea I/II- and MELD- score. Exclusion criteria were patients with chronic kidney diseases, hepatocellular carcinoma, severe primary cardiopulmonary failure. Results: The mean age of patients was 53.39 ± 11.97 years, male accounted for 91.0%. The patients with bleeding\u0000from esophageal varices were accounted for 82.2% and from gastric varices for 17.8% of which GOV2, IGV1, GOV1 were 11.9%, 3.4%, 2.5%, respectively. Acute kidney injury (AKI) was presented in 16.7% of patients. The prognostic value of these scores in early rebleeding (first five days) were: CTP - crea I (AUC: 0.788) > CTP - crea II (AUC: 0.771) > MELD (AUC: 0.754) > CTP (AUC: 0.671), in early mortality were: CTP – crea I (AUC: 0.860) > CTP – crea II (AUC: 0.859) > MELD (AUC: 0.849) > CTP (AUC: 0.775). In clinical practice, there are many scales used to evaluate the risk of poor prognosis (Rockall, Glasgow, Blatch Ford) and mainly applied in upper gastrointestinal tract. However, the prognosis of lower gastrointestinal tract diseases remains limited. The appropriate selection and the application of scales for assessing the risks of poor prognosis in acute lower gastrointestinal bleeding (ALGIB) cases are essential, assist the physician to direct the intensive management attitude as well as the waste of human resources and health economy. Oakland score has been considered as a simple, convenient score to assist clinicians quickly, accurately stratify the risk of ALGIB patients. This study aimed to validate the Oakland score for predicting adverse outcomes of ALGIB patients. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at Cho Ray Hospital from Jan 2021 to May 2021, including patients aged ≥ 16 years who had indication of admission due to symptoms suggesting ALGIB and underwent lower gastrointestinal endoscopy. These patients were then followed-up to observe the adverse outcomes, including blood transfusion, endoscopic intervention, surgery and death. Area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and the best cut-off value of Oakland score for predicting adverse outcomes of ALGIB patients were analyzed using SPSS software. Results: A total of 70 patients with mean age 59.5 ± 16.4, male/female ratio (1.5 : 1) was recruited in this study. 27/70 (38.6%) stopped bleeding spontaneously without any interventions. We conduct this study to examine the fulfillment of discharge education content needs from surgical patients’ perspective and related factors. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital in Vietnam. Surgical patients older than 18 years of age were selected to complete the Quality of Discharge Teaching Scale (QDTS) within 4 hours before discharge. Patients received more information about emotions and practices treatment and medication than their needed (p < 0.01).
