This is an advanced teaching method that promotes small group interaction, exchange, discussion and enhances students’ ability to work together as well as their critical thinking. However, the application of the teaching method is rarely used due to limited resources in building lectures following this method. Objectives: To develope health care courses for adults with cardiovascular diseases according to the TBL teaching method for nursing students. Results: Complete building orientation packet learning TBL care for cardiovascular disease, the test of individual and group discussions when applied to teach in this method, the source reference materials prepared for students to self-study first before going to class. Conclusion: The deployment and application of TBL teaching methods are necessary, helping students to actively participate in learning and improve communication skills, critical thinking, decision-making skills, and increased satisfaction with learning outcomes, in addition to reducing the time spent in class\u0000Key words: Team-based learning, active learning method.","PeriodicalId":86274,"journal":{"name":"The South Dakota journal of medicine and pharmacy","volume":"99 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85918930","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objectives: Assess the level of knowledge of women on this issue and identify related factors affecting knowledge, and awareness as well as the decision to use the BTL method. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study with a convenient sampling method on 189 married and reproductive-age women who visited Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from June 2022 to October 2022. The toolkit includes 17 questions divided into 2 areas: knowledge and perception when using this method. The data were processed and analyzed using SPSS 20.0 software. Results: 32% of women have good knowledge and 68% have bad knowledge. The factors related to knowledge include age, education level, occupation, current number of children alive and status of sexually transmitted diseases (p < 0.05). The percentage agreeing to use this method is 66% and disagreeing is 34%. Factors related to women’s decision to have BTL include The benefit of bilateral tubal ligation, the Husband’s consent, the difficulties of giving a decision, fear of surgery, fear of regret, and lack of information about this method (mean > 3). Among lung cancer cases, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for approximately 85%. Most patients are diagnosed at the advanced stage, hence systemic therapy plays a crucial role to increase survival time. Targeted therapy is now the standard of care for NSCLC with TKIs sensitive mutations because of its efficacy and tolerability. The study of QoL in these groups of patients remains limited in Vietnam. Objectives: To evaluate the quality of life in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) being treated by targeted therapy and to determine the factors that affect the quality of life (QOL). Methodology: A descriptive study was conducted on 55 non-small cell lung cancer patients being treated at the Hue Central Hospital and the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital from 6/2021 to 8/2022. The EORTC QLQ-C30 was used to assess the quality of life. Evaluation of the quality of life by descriptive statistics. The linear regression test was used to determine the correlated factor. Results: The mean age of the group of patients was 66.6 ± 9.9. The global health scale was 55.8 ± 12.6 which was found to be related to the level of depression DASS21 (p < 0.01). In the functional scale, the cognitive function had the highest score (84.2 ± 14.8), and the lowest was social function items (42.4 ± 18.9). The function score was found to be correlated to the disease duration (p < 0.05) and DASS21 (p < 0.01) Less common symptoms were constipation and nausea. The most prominent symptoms were loss of appetite and fatigue. The symptom score was related to the disease duration (p = 0.02) and DASS21 (p < 0.01). In terms of financial impact, the mean score was 41.2 (± 38.5), related to the residence (p = 0.04), occupation (p = 0.04), and economic condition (p = 0.01). Conclusion: The global health QoL score was quite high in NSCLC patients treated with molecular targeted therapy. The residence, occupation, economic conditions, duration of illness, and DASS21 were associated with the QoL of patients. \u0000Key words: non-small cell lung cancer, quality of life, molecular targeted therapy, EORTC QLQ_C30, advanced stage.","PeriodicalId":86274,"journal":{"name":"The South Dakota journal of medicine and pharmacy","volume":"38 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81549668","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Objectives: This study aims to determine the clinical competence of nursing students and related factors. Methodology: A descriptive cross-sectional study, combining quantitative and qualitative methods, was conducted on 306 nursing students who participated in clinical practice at the hospital. The research content consists of 3 parts: (1) General characteristics of the research objects; (2) The clinical competence of nursing students is assessed by the Clinical Competency Measurement Tool questionnaire consisting of 34 questions divided into 5 domains: Nursing process, Nursing skills, Nursing Leadership, Communication, Professional development; and (3) The influencing factors and propose\u0000solutions to improve clinical competence. Results: The clinical competence of nursing students reached the average level with 3.47 ± 0.34/5 points; the Professional development ability got the highest score with 3.60 ± 0.45 points and the Nursing skill got the lowest score with 3.29 ± 0.44 points.
