After produced, the stability and distribution of the different transcripts are regulated by means of RNA-binding proteins (RBPs). Mutations in RNA-binding proteins can cause Mendelian diseases - prominently neuromuscular disorders and cancers. This study determines the interaction between RBPs and target-RNA complexes from public data of the ENCODE project and identifies mutations associated with Mendelian diseases that could disrupt the RBP-RNA interactions. Materials and methods: we performed a transcriptome - wide bioinformatics prediction of the binding sites of RBPs in the human transcriptome from public\u0000data of the ENCODE project. Results: The majority (54%) of pathogenic mutation putatively affecting the binding sites of RBPs are located in protein - coding genes and are mainly classified as loss - of - function mutations. Mutations located in the binding sites of RBPs related to RNA processing. For 13 diseases, Familial hypercholesterolemia is the most significant disease with about 40% of mutations in ClinVar database located into the binding sites of RBPs (p=2.3e-65), but congenital hypogonadotropic hypogonadism is the disease with the highest percentage of mutations affecting the binding sites of RBPs (98%, p=2.7e-25). The RBPs most involved in human Mendelian diseases by binding sites-disrupting mutations are YBX3, AQR and PRPF8. Conclusions: A large number of Mendelian diseases are potentially mediated by disease - causing variants\u0000that potentially disrupt the binding sites of RBPs. This will provide insight sharper on post - transcriptional mechanisms. Besides, it is useful to know the role of protein - RNA interactome networks in pathologies, thereby serving the treatment of diseases. \u0000Key words: bioinformatics analysis, ENCODE project, ClinVar, RNA-binding proteins, Mendelian diseases

In addition, the cagA, cagE, cagT, vacA, iceA genotypes of H. pylori strains were investigated to predict clinical outcomes. Materials\u0000and methods: H. pylori was successfully cultured in 52 patients with different gastrointestinal disorders at the Hospital of Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Central Vietnam. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of five antimicrobials; clarithromycin (CLR), metronidazole (MTZ), levofloxacin (LE), amoxicillin (AMX) and tetracycline (TE) were determined by the E-test method. Genetic determinants of AMX\u0000and TE resistance were identified with the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), followed by sequencing and gene analysis. Allelic variants of cagA, cagE, cagT, vacA, iceA were identified by the PCR. Results: The resistance to CLR, MTZ, LE, AMX, and TE were 90.4%, 86.5%, 65.4%, 40.4% and 0%, respectively. Multidrug resistance was observed in 88.5% of the isolates investigated. Several known AMX resistance mutations were identified in PBP1A (A369T, V374L, S543R, T556S, N562Y), whereas a known mutation in 16S rRNA (A926G) was detected in strains with higher MIC level (TE MICs of 0.25 and 0.5 mg/L). The cagA, cagE and cagT genotypes were found together in 46 isolates (88.5%), vacAs- region genotype in 51 (98.1%, predominantly vacAs1), vacAmregion genotype in all strains studied (vacAm1 - 51.9%, vacAm2 - 40.4%, vacAm1 and vacAm2 - 7.7%), iceA1 in 22 (42.3%) and iceA2 in 20 (38.5%) of strains. The allelic variant vacAs1m1 was prominent (57.4%), and vacAs1m2 (42.6%). Conclusion: Overall, resistance rates to CLR, MTZ, LE and AMX were high in H. pylori from Central Vietnam, except for TE, which serves as a foundation for developing local guidelines for more effective therapeutic strategies. Widespread treatment of these defects has been effectively applied with perforator flaps of the peroneal artery and posterior tibial artery. Objectives: 1. Construct a map of the perforators of the peroneal artery and posterior tibial artery using a handheld Doppler ultrasound. 2. Evaluate the clinical outcome of perforator flaps to cover soft tissue defects in the lower leg and foot. Materials and method: Cross-sectional study of 34 volunteers with no previous history of vascular diseases and the prospective study of 31 patients with soft tissue defects treated with peroneal artery perforator flap\u0000and posterior tibial artery perforator flap. Results: There are, on average, 4.7 peroneal perforating arteries. From the lateral malleolus to the fibula’s head, the percentage of perforating arteries in the 2/10 and 6/10 segments is 85.3% and 97%, respectively. In the 2-3/10 segment, 94.1% have perforator arteries. There are, on average, 3.3 posterior tibial artery perforators. From the medial malleolus to the medial tibial plateau, it was found that 100% of volunteers had perforating arteries in the 3-4/10 segments and 61.7% in the 5/10 segment. Evaluation of postoperative results in 31 patients: 77.49% showed the right flap. The most common complications were edge necrosis (12.9%), partial necrosis (6.44%), and infection (3.23%). The donor sites showed good survival in 96.4% of patients, while partial necrosis resulted in 3.6%. A follow-up examination revealed that 90.32% of flaps had a good result, 9.68% had an average result, and no poor results were\u0000shown. 100% of donor sites had good results. Conclusion: An average of 4.7 perforators of the peroneal artery is detected by handheld Doppler ultrasound. Also, there are 1-2 relatively constant perforators in segments 2/10 and 5-6/10 from the lateral malleolus. On average, there are 3.3 perforators of the posterior tibial artery, primarily in the 3-4/10 and 5/10 segments proximally from the medial malleolus. 90.32% of the flap had good results. \u0000Key words: Perforator flap, Soft tissue defect, Lower leg, Foot, Reconstruction.

Curently, there are ten GBS serotypes (Ia, Ib, and II-IX) and the resistance characteristic of GBS is important to clinical treatment. Objectives and methods: 30 clinical isolates of GBS were obtained from patients in Hue Central Hospital, Vietnam, from January 2016 until Jun 2019. Then the isolated GBS was conducted antimicrobial susceptibility test to determine the antibiotic resistance and serotypes by a multiplex PCR method. Results: GBS strains were resistant to tetracycline (100%), azithromycin (82.6%), erythromycin (80%) and clindamycin (80%). Resistance rates were lower with levofloxacin (45%), chloramphenicol (52.6%) and ceftriaxone (6.7%) whereas resistance was not observed in ampicillin, vancomycin and penicillin G. The distribution rate of serotype V (66.67%) was higher than type I (33.33%). Conclusions: Antibiotic resistance characteristics of GBS in samples are mostly familiar with other studies: β -lactams and vancomycin were the most susceptible antibiotics to GBS, the resistance rate in second line drug like clindamycin and erythromycin were high but there were large differences between studies. The study was conducted to describe the current situation of plastic waste management and the health conditions related to plastic waste of people in Hai Duong commune, Central Vietnam, in 2020. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study using a structured questionnaire was carried out on 291 people over 18 years old in Hai Duong commune, Huong Tra town, from September to October, 2020. Results: The amount of plastic waste accounted for 16.5% of the total volume of collected waste. The main forms of plastic waste treatment included collecting at gathering places (87.3%), selling scrap (60.8%), or burning (19.9%). In most cases,\u0000plastic bags were collected at the gathering place (90.4%), washed for reuse (45.4%), and burned (14.8%). The notable weakness of garbage collection and transportation was that residents did not sort out different types of garbage (29.6%), and littered indiscriminately in public places with little traffic at night (11.3%). Health conditions related to over-plastic waste use included headache (9.6%), rash (4.8%), cardiovascular disease (5.2%), and gastrointestinal disease (3.4%). Conclusion: The management of plastic waste in general and plastic bags in particular is still inadequate. It could be seen that if a lot of plastic products were used and the waste was not handled properly, it would cause much harm to human health. The prognosis in patients with infectious disease strongly depends on early diagnosis and appropriate antibiotic therapy. We aimed to compare the accuracy of genus and species-level identification bacteria using biochemical testing and 16S rRNA sequence analysis. Material and methods: 50 clinical samples were isolated and identified the pathogenic bacteria by routine laboratory methods. In parallel, DNA was extracted from isolate’s colonies and amplified the 16S rRNA gene by using specific primers. The PCR products were evaluated by agarose gel electrophoresis and direct sequencing by the Sanger method. The sequence data\u0000were manipulated by Geneious Prime software. The sequence data matching the Prokaryotic 16S Ribosomal RNA database with a similarity score of ≥ 98% were selected. Results: Total of 50 clinical samples were isolated and identified the pathogenic bacteria with common biochemical test and API® Microbial Identification. The sequencing data showed that almost species identified by 16S rRNA sequencing matched the biochemical test method. There are 3 species (6%) were identified as different species with the routine methods. Conclusions: 16S rRNA gene sequencing is more sensitive, easier to manage, more accurate and especially for bacteria that are difficult to identify. 16S rRNA sequencing is considered an effective method to early identify pathogens in clinical samples, and this technique is increasingly being used in microbiology laboratories \u0000Key words: 16S rRNA gene, Sanger sequencing, bacterial identification, misdiagnosed

Student peer assessment is widely used as a form of formative assessment in early clinical exposure programs, especially clinical communication skills training. This study aimed to describe clinical communication skills competencies of second-year students and to identify the relationships between peer and faculty assessment of communication skills in a blended learning program format. Methods: A total of 474 second-year general medical students and dental students participated in the study. Peer and lecturer assessment forms with a 5-point Likert scale according to the Calgary-Cambridge guide format were used to evaluate students’ performance of basic communication skills, relationship building, and history taking. Pearson’s correlation coefficients and paired t-test were applied. A p-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Most of students were rated at distinction level (score at 7-8.4) in communication skills. Mean of the overall score by peer and faculty assessment were 7.46 ± 1.03 and 7.17 ± 0.68, respectively. Peers rarely provided negative ratings on subcategories of communication skills. Skills of understanding the patient’s perspectives and gathering information were the most reported skills needed to improve among students. Significant positive correlations were found between peer and faculty evaluations for building relationship, establishing initial rapport, and gathering information domains (p < 0.01). Students tended to grade their colleagues higher for building relationship (3.88 ± 0.62) and establishing initial rapport domains (3.72 ± 0.61) than other\u0000domains, meanwhile, teachers tended to grade building relationship (3.80 ± 0.55) and gathering information domains (3.64 ± 0.38) higher than other domains. The disease is most widely transmitted from an infected mother to her baby, after exposure to infected blood or body fluids or unsafe sexual contact. Pregnant women, adolescents, and all adults at high risk for chronic infection are recommended to be screened for hepatitis B. Serological tests allow the distinction between acute and chronic hepatitis. Meanwhile, the molecular tests performed provide detection and quantification of viral DNA, genotyping, drug resistance, and pre-core/core mutation analysis to confirm infection and follow monitoring disease progression in patients with chronic hepatitis B. Because, the current treatment is only based on nucleotide analogs and pegylated interferons that save lives by decreasing liver cancer death, liver transplant, slowing or reversing the progression of liver disease as well as the virus infectivity. In this review, we clearly light the role of Hepatitis B Core Antibody, therefore clinicians understand the need to screen for hepatitis B core antigen (Anti-HBc), proper interpretation of HBV biomarkers, and that “anti-HBc only” indicates HBV exposure, lifelong persistence of cccDNA with incomplete infection control, and potential risk for reactivation.\u0000\u0000Key words: Hepatitis B virus (HBV), Hepatitis B Core Antibody (Anti-HBc/HbcAb).
