Accreditation standards and scholarship provide little guidance on best practices. We sampled 38 administrators from the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs to understand recruitment and retention practices for minoritized students. Eighty-eight statements were identified. Seven trainees completed a pre-/post-course SDMH competence scale and nine weekly journal entries. Results of a paired samples <i>t</i>-test and deductive content analysis suggest increased SDMH competence and efforts to learn about and address clients’ SDMH challenges throughout the semester.
