Lawrence. The epistemic self-position reflects the subject’s knowledge of the world, his worldview, his points of view and his beliefs. It refers to the speaker’s knowledge of the subject of speech, the degree of confidence in expression. Modern corpus-oriented studies of discourse are performed in three directions, namely, textual (study of the choice of language units, meanings and models in texts); critical (combination of critical discourse analysis and system functional linguistics); contextual (taking into account situational factors of communication, involvement of the theory of speech acts and pragmatics). Due to the explanatory inflexibility of the existing electronic corpora of the English language, that is the impossibility of a complete analysis of the presented contexts, our own corpus of texts was created to study the epistemic position of a subject in English dialogic discourse. It has been illustrated by the example of the works by David Herbert Lawrence, one of the key English writers of the early twentieth century. We have singled out and framed the contexts of the use of epistemic verbs (such as, know, think, seem, believe, understand, suppose, guess, expect, hope). The selected contexts of the use of epistemic verbs in artistic dialogic discourse will be analyzed in semantic and pragmatic aspects, namely – the meaning of the studied epistemic markers, such as reliability, faith, confidence, etc., and their pragmatic usage to express strategies and tactics of I-concept. The perspective of this study is a detailed analysis of the semantic and pragmatic features of epistemic markers in artistic discourse.

Melnyk
The article provides the concept of the will, its interpretation in the selected dictionaries and the sermon of A. Radivilovsky since it is an important notion in the linguistic world image of Ukrainians. The visions of the concept of A. Radivilovsky and other writers of that time are compared. The inter- est for the interpretation and understanding of this concept appeared in Ukrainian culture in the 17th century. The reason for this was the penetration of Latin-Polish literature into the territory of Ukraine. The interpretations of the will were quite different, even within one century. So-called «evolution» of the concept can be traced back to the dictionaries that record the vocabulary of the researched period («Lexicon» by Pamba Berynda., «Materials» to the dictionary by E. Timchenko and «Dictionary of the Ukrainian language of the 16th – the first half of the 17th century»).\u0000\u0000The change of the conceptual world image of Ukrainians, specifically in the ratio of such concepts as God and Man, is observed in the second half of the 17th century. A. Radivilovsky is an innovator in this regard. For him as well as for I. Gisel, freedom is defined as the path to the Salvation.\u0000\u0000An important thing is that A. Radilovsky appeals to the will not in a specific sense. The main point for him is freedom of the will which he defines as a special gift from God that is given to a man in order to live for good and increase the glory of the Lord. In the sermon he refers to the work of Blessed Augustine. The preacher believes that a person who chose a righteous path with his own will can reach the Salvation. God gives everyone freedom to choose, and therefore nobody makes a person do what he does not want to do. In order to confirm his ideas, A. Radilovsky presents the biblical parables, legends or histories of ancient gods or rulers.\u0000\u0000So, A. Radilovsky refers to the problem of freedom of the will because the society of that time required a different interpretation of some religious concepts through rationalistic worldview. Accord- ing to the preacher, the will is the path to the Highest Blessed Peace, a special gift from God. Such an interpretation differs from the ideas of philosophers of the first half of the 20th century. A. Radilovsky emphasizes that even doing it unconsciously a person still has to make a choice in favor of God. That is, having noted that everyone has a right to make their own choice, the preacher unknowingly denies this fact. The concept of the will plays an important role in the sermon since it gives us an idea of the contemporary understanding of the notion and its place in the religious texts.

Later, this classification is used to analyze a number of examples taken from the story of M. Mathios “Armageddon has already taken place”, translated by Sh. Sati for the first Ukrainian-Crimean Tatar literary competition “Qırım İnciri” (“Crimean Fig”). The special conditions of formation of static and dynamic frames are investigated on examples in the article, and also advantages of use of frame translation for preservation of mental images of the people are shown. The article demonstrates the relevance of frame interpretation of a literary text from Ukrainian into Crimean Tatar as a means of solving problems that arise when translating mental images reflected in the culturally marked vocabulary of the original work into another language in different cultural environment. Finally, the article proves that the frame approach offers a solid theoretical basis for studying and preserving the mental images proposed by the author of the source text and reproduced by the translator, and provides a basis for studying the dynamic process underlying the ability to reproduce information with minimal distortion. Taking into account that frames represent static and dynamic phenomena, I have to admit that it works effectively to describe and explain the translator’s mental process. Translators, in terms of the semantics of frames, can be seen as creators who, operating on frames, seek to achieve cognitive equivalence.

The purpose of the analysis is to identify common and different phrases in functioning, with the establishment of the parameterization of the author’s style. The relevance of the topic is obvious in connection with the need to establish the grammatical and lexical valence of words, typical partlanguage conjunctiveness, laws of combinatorics of word combinations of various types and degrees. The novelty lies both in the approach itself, that is, in the possibility of automatically creating an alphabetic-frequency dictionary, and in the method of implementation: the phrase dictionary is part of the syntactic representation of a sentence in the form of a model – a graphic representation of a dependency tree, which is also an interesting tool for characterizing syntactic categories – predicativeness, order etc. The task of the parser was to identify all types of conjugation – predicative, subjunctive and consecutive – of each word in the text. Since the lexical-grammatical nature of a word determines its ability to combine with other words, word combinations are divided into noun, adjective, pronoun, numeral, verb and adverb. The article deals with simple binary phrases with or without a preposition, which can be extended into complex ones, because the analysis of the content structure is required to determine their composition. The perspective of the project is in further use in the semantic analysis of the text, as well as a finished product for linguistic research on the syntax of the Ukrainian language.

The main object of the analysis was the associative reactions of the individuals to the new loanwords, which are often used in mass media speech, gathered during the conduction of the free association experiment. The focus is on the investigation of the neologisms’ semantics, types of associative connections, and features of the functioning of these units from the aspect of psycholinguistics and linguistic and cultural studies. Psycholinguistic aspects of the process of neologizing and strategies to identify the new word’s meaning are observed. An experimental study proves that the perception of neologisms occurs with the use of universal identification strategies. A new word as a unit of a person’s internal lexicon wants to comprehend new realities that are in constant dynamics, which are a means of access to the individual’s information base and requires comprehensive research. Learning a new word plays an important role in restructuring the connections between the units of the speaker’s lexicon. Its renewal takes place to develop the knowledge of new associative connections, to restructure, to occur the new individual contents, and to fill a single vocabulary with new perceptual-affective contents. Neologisms that are in the final stages of assimilation by the recipient language have more varieties of associative reactions than little-used neologisms stimulus. When analyzing the results of the experiment, a distinction should be made between a neologism of its own and a word that is simply new to the speaker and that has not occurred before in individual speech experience. The analysis of the results of the experiment shows that the objective novelty of neologisms does not always coincide with the subjective novelty of stimuli perceived by informants. The internal form plays a significant role in the perception and understanding of neologisms. All the diverse information carried by a new language unit interacts with a complex system of individual and collective norms and assessments, their frequency and scope of use, and the age of acquisition and is stored with a certain set of strategies.

It has been found that antonymous relations within the paradigm exist as prospective, based on semantics of opposed units. The actualization of antonymous relations is manifested through their opposition in speech. The analysis of their grammatical, lexical and syntactic compatibility made possible the identification the facts of word antonymy at the syntagmatic level, which proved the commonality of the above-mentioned characteristics in both elements of the antonymous pair. The variability of syntagmatic features in opposed antonymous units can be caused by various reasons, such as the connections and relationships established between objects and phenomena of reality, the possibility of using connected words in direct or figurative meaning, the ambiguity of antonyms, etc. The author focuses on the fact that words can be considered antonyms provided the regular combined reproduction in constant formulas of typical antonymous contexts, which realize one of the following meanings: direct opposition, alternativeness, integrity, contrast, uncertainty, contradiction. It is pointed out that a type variety of antonymous contexts is due to the presence of pragmatic differences in the functioning of antonyms in speech, as speech activity involves the use of antonymous means to verbalize concepts and thoughts depending on the communicative situation. The factors considered above together serve as an auxiliary means of statement the facts of lexical units antonymy as representatives of paradigmatic groups, which inherent characteristic is the presence in the semantics two words of a common seme opposites and an extreme negation component. In general, the definition of paradigmatic and syntagmatic criteria for the antonymy of words makes it possible to understand the linguistic nature of antonymy and serves as proof of its systemic nature.

This dictionary was chosen as one of the first comprehensive dictionaries of foreign vocabulary in Ukraine. The dictionary consists of the main part (12 thousand words), where the interpretation of adopted words is provided, and the appendix, where borrowed words and phrases used in the Ukrainian language are given. This appendix is examined in the article. This group of vocabulary was choosen because it reflects a fragment of the linguistic worldview of Ukrainians of the selected time period. Research of linguistic worldview makes possible to more elaborately reconstruct the structure of Ukrainian society from the end of the 18th century to modern times, which represented, in particular, by the names of professions. Some of these names are no longer used in the modern Ukrainian language. The peculiarities of this lexicon have been determined on the phonetic, lexical, morphological and syntactic levels. At the lexical level, intrasystem connections, namely synonymy, polysemy, and semantics are considered in detail. We also considered the spelling features of the dictionary. In addition, we paid attention to certain moments of word usage at the beginning of the 20th century and to the encyclopedic nature of the dictionary as a whole. A comparative table of borrowed vocabulary recorded in Kuzelia’s and Tchaikovsky’s work as well as in Borys Hrinchenko’s, who also was the author of a dictionary at the beginning of the 20th century, was created. The sources of borrowing of this LSG have been determined in Kuzelia’s, Tchaikovsky’s and Hrinchenko’s dictionaries.
