In cases where this is possible, the structure of museum’s exposition is examined. Criteria that have played a key role in the division of museums’ content into structural elements are defined. The accuracy of exposition authors’ compliance of their approaches has also been analyzed.\u0000\u0000The first linguistic museum in the world that opened its doors to visitors was Taras Shevchenko university of Kyiv’s Linguistic Educational Museum founded in 1992 by the order of the university’s rector. During next sixteen years it was world’s only linguistic museum till the year 2008 when National Museum of Language in the US was opened. In 2013 a new linguistic museum named Mundolingua was established in Paris. After 2014 when the museum in USA was closed and till now it continues to be the only linguistic museum in the world except Linguistic Educational Museum in Ukraine that is functioning.\u0000\u0000At present times there are several big projects of establishing a comprehensive linguistic museum in different countries. Among them is Planet Word in Washington, Museum der Sprachen der Welt in Berlin, Museum of Language in London. The work upon these projects is in progress and hasn’t reached the stage of completeness.\u0000\u0000There are also two websites available on the Internet that have the name of museum but does not contain any traces of the exposition content. These are the website of the above mentioned National Museum of Language and Taalmuseum in the Netherlands. Both of these websites are portals for announcements concerning exhibitions, lectures and meetings in different places that are somehow referred to language topics.\u0000\u0000In this article the structure of the museums content has also been analyzed. Linguistic Educational Museum in Kyiv was established for academic purposes therefore its content has the same structure as the Introductory Linguistics course. At the same time it reveals the principles of the museum exposition author’s Doctor of Science thesis named the Metatheory of Linguisics.

Due to the work of numerous translators, we can evaluate the effectiveness of this toolkit. However, despite the prevalence and availability of research materials, some aspects remain unexplored.\u0000\u0000There is a completely underestimated branch, which is narratology. Despite several similar features, studies prove that narrators can be different. The main characteristic to distinguish them is the point of view. It is worth noting that every narrative contains a combination of three points of view: narrator’s, character’s, and author’s. Considering the role of the parameter in fiction, it possible to compare it with the conductor because it determines the rules according to which the work will be organized.\u0000\u0000The purpose of the proposed research is to consider the phenomenon of narrative from a limited third person in English literature, in particular, to analyze the sources of its origin, a description of its characteristics, delineation of conceptual boundaries, and the analysis of its application.\u0000\u0000A narrative from a third person is recognizable in the text. Its distinctive feature is represented with third-person pronouns. An advantage of this point of view is the ability to give more information to the reader about the outer world. It lies far beyond the perspective of the first person.\u0000\u0000In the twentieth century, the narrative from a limited third person gained popularity. Speaking proper names, mainly anthroponyms and toponyms, are considered as means of the author’s ideas rendering and possess certain connotative and pragmatic characteristics. Speaking names perform not only a nominative but also an expressive and informative function, thus particular attention is paid to the rendering of the connotative, emotional, pragmatic, and cultural components of each proper noun, as the correct perception of the novel by the readership depends immensely on that. The main translation difficulties which translators face during the rendering of speaking proper nouns were determined. Said difficulties are related to the differences in language systems and ethno-cultural backgrounds of the audience as well as to the need to take into account both wide and narrow context of the usage of a speaking name. The most common ways to overcome such difficulties were analyzed and the main translation transformations that allow an adequate rendering of the speaking proper noun from the source to the target text were determined. Calque translation and translation transformation of differentiation are considered to be potentially able to reproduce the hid- den meaning, hints, ironic or humorous component of the original speaking proper name. However, the speaking names interpretations’ asymmetry is observed even in translations into closely-related lan- guages, which corresponds to the hypothesis of linguistic relativity. Thus, it seems an impossible task to wholly reproduce the multi-meanings and polysemy of the images hidden in the speaking name and ensure its identical perception by the average reader of the source and target texts. Principal reasons for speaking names interpretations’ asymmetry in translations of the same text are defined, which are lexical-grammatical, ethno-cultural, contextual-pragmatic, and personal-subjective.

Generally speaking, empathy is an interpersonal phenomenon that determines the ability to project one’s personality onto the object of contemplation and thus fully understand it. Verbal empathy is defined as the speaker’s identification, which may vary in degree, with a person/thing that participates in the event. Linguistic empathy is a phenomenon that goes beyond grammar. The speaker’s identification with a certain position is represented in the utterance through the unconscious/automatic choice of one of the normatively correct options, which convey a pragmatically different attitude. Such related to empathy concepts as point of view/viewpoint/perspective and deictic center are briefly discussed in the paper. They all are similar with what S. Kuno names “camera angle”; their meanings are overlapping, but not identical. The relationship between psychological empathy and linguistic/communicative empathy is defined in different ways: linguistic empathy is designed only to formally identify the speaker with a participant in the event referred to in the utterance, or linguistic empathy inevitably verbalizes the empathy and sympathy of another. When preaching, the priest must understand what his congregation feels (cognitive empathy) and convey these experiences accordingly (communicative empathy), and while conveying, mentally relate to the parishioners (affective empathy). In the sermons of the Baroque homilet of the 17th century Antonii Radyvylovskyi, perhaps the most important expression of the speaker’s empathy towards his interlocutor-listener is the Old Ukrainian language. Other markers of communicative empathy, such as translation, interpretation, localization, folklore element use, have been identified in the sermons of Antonii Radyvylovskyi. Undoubtedly, among his listeners there were people of various backgrounds, educations and types of activity, since not only the brothers of the monastery were present during the service, but also “ordinary people” who came to pray to the Pechersk miracle workers. Therefore, the author strives to compose sermons that would appreciate the first and understand the second. These sermons were to be accessible and popular.

As a result of the study of 287 microtoponyms it was found that man-made objects constitute a significant part, and 11 semantic groups of microtoponyms were distinguished: the names for trades, methods of household management, types of settlements, residential, cultural, economic and household buildings, which indicate the method of land development, on a part of the whole, on the border of land allotments, on the purpose and use of the area, on the roads of communication, on the social status of the owner, as well as in which the beliefs of the inhabitants and the formation of ethnonyms are expressed. In each thematic group, the meaning of motivational bases is distinguished, and their etymology is clarified. On the basis of calculations, it was highlighted that the most significant part in the analyzed onomasticon involves the stems for the definition of residential, cultural, economic and household buildings, which became the basis for the creation of 43 proper names of a monolexical, compound and prepositional structure, which is related to ensuring the livelihood of people. Within these groups, the largest number of names was recorded from the appellatives tserkva [church] / doroha [road] and lenia – 5 and 9 nominations, respectively. It was outlined that th propriatives for determining trades, methods of household management are also productive, as well as those that indicate the purpose and use of the area and that reflect the beliefs of the inhabitants – from 10 to 17 units. It contributes to the understanding of the religious picture of the world and the concept as a representative of the values, ideas, feelings, and associations.\u0000\u0000The article is based on the testament, sermons and speeches by Josyf Slipyj who was a Major Archbishop and a Cardinal of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Previously he, as a public figure was banned and the issue of religious mentality was on the periphery, in particular, due to ideological considerations.\u0000\u0000Josyf Slipyj always tried to organize a church space in Ukraine, which remains relevant today, because of the events and the religious context in our country. However, the issue of the discursive and linguo-conceptual analysis of the concept FAITH is unresolved. It is shown that this concept belongs to the deep foundation, one of the most important personal values. The purpose of the research is to study the verbalization of the concept FAITH in the religious discourse by Josyf Slipyj, which is the basis for the krainian linguistic picture of the world, universal category, the foundation of national consciousness, and at the same time the unique concept.\u0000\u0000Realization of the set purpose provides solving necessary tasks: to trace the worldview of Josyf Slipyj and determine the place of the concept FAITH.
