Many interesting applications such as peer-to-peer file transfer, micro-blogging etc. are possible on this network. We propose viral spread (Many-to-all broadcast) for such networks. Viral spread can be useful to variety of such applications as well as for routing protocols which require flooding of control messages. As these devices are carried by humans, we exploit properties of human mobility like overlapping community structure and heterogeneous popularity of nodes for efficient forwarding. Buffering all packets from all sources of community at each node is prohibitive. As buffer space is limited and buffer occupancy level also has an impact on energy requirements, to reduce buffer usage, we probabilistically buffer received packet for forwarding. To offset for the loss in performance due to this, we employ network coding. Network coding is a mechanism in which nodes encode two or more incoming packets and forward encoded packets instead of forwarding them as it is. To compare performance of viral spread, we also modify epidemic routing from unicast to broadcast and from deterministic buffering all the packets to probabilistic buffering. As simulation results suggest, viral spread achieves significantly high packet delivery percentage and low average delivery delay than modified epidemic routing. From simulation results, we also suggest optimal values of forwarding probability and generation size to be used in viral spread.","PeriodicalId":409794,"journal":{"name":"2014 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON)","volume":"515 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132863062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The implementation of this algorithm will be used to provide fast, efficient and appropriate solution for any complex clustering problem. This algorithm addresses the basic challenges faced with the existing PSO based clustering techniques i.e. preknowledge of initial cluster centers, dead unit problem, premature convergence to local optima, stagnation problem, etc. The proposed algorithm proved that the use of Subtractive Clustering methodology at the start of any PSO approach can improve the clustering process by suggesting good initial cluster centers and number of clusters in advance and then fasten the further clustering with the use of adaptive inertia weight factor and boundary restriction strategy. The performance of proposed algorithm is tested against well know clustering techniques over three datasets, where the results showed a better or comparable performance with respect to accuracy of clustering and convergence rate.","PeriodicalId":409794,"journal":{"name":"2014 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132433342","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Then, the autoregressive (AR) model is computed for each subband. With a suitable combination of work functions of both the tunnel and auxiliary gates, steeper Id-Vg variations and ION to IOFF ratio as high as 1.6×1011 has been achieved. It has also been found that using a high K dielectric near the tunnel junction and low K dielectric near the drain junction enhances the tunneling ON current. In this technique the information of measured physical quantity such as surface velocity is encoded in the phase of a fringe pattern. Fringe analysis software extracts the phase from the fringe pattern. The present work reports the development of robust fringe analysis software for complete time history of free surface velocity measurement from recorded fringe signals. The analysis code has been verified by generating free surface velocity history from different simulated fringe profiles. The effects of various measurement imperfections are also studied and corrective measures are coded in the software. Finally, software is validated by analyzing the plate impact experimental data of Al-2024T4 material. Sudden failure of such component leads to unwanted interruptions and catastrophic losses. Partial Discharges (PD) are reported as main reason for degradation of insulation system in any HV power apparatus. A successive occurrence of such discharges eventually leads to complete failure of the equipment. Therefore, it becomes important to monitor the PD in all HV power apparatus in order to detect incipient insulation problems, and to prevent further tragic failure. In the work, microstrip patch antenna has been designed in suitable manner for detection of Ultra High Frequency (UHF) signals, emitted due to occurrence of PD in HV power apparatus. An experimental study has been conducted in laboratory environment for testing of proposed sensors. Experimental results also correlated with the standard PD detection system (IEC60270). Result shows that, the proposed microstrip patch antenna can be effectively used as UHF sensor, and PD can be detected in the HV power apparatus in non-contact mode from a long distance. PD measurement with microstrip patch antenna is easy to install and also a cost effective solution for online condition monitoring of HV power apparatus.","PeriodicalId":409794,"journal":{"name":"2014 Annual IEEE India Conference (INDICON)","volume":"375 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116467913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
