A PID controller with sliding model transfer characteristics
The conventional three term, Proportional/Integral/Derivative (PID) controllers have established their presence in industry due to the satisfactory performance exhibited by them. The present paper discusses a class of PID controllers with a sliding model transfer characteristics. The inherent features of the three terms are effectively utilized through this sliding model transfer characteristics. Extensive simulation tests establish the improved performance of this controller configuration when compared with the fixed gain conventional PID controller.
