En este estudio los marcadores de compromiso han sido considerados como parte del modelo de analisis del metadiscurso interpersonal; es decir, son elementos que involucran explicitamente a los lectores, ya sea para captar su atencion o incluirlos como participantes del discurso (Hyland, 2005a). Para su analisis, se recopilo un corpus compuesto de 2.400 comentarios digitales a noticias, que fueron etiquetados manualmente con la herramienta UAM Corpus Tool con el fin de identificar los mecanismos empleados como marcadores de compromiso. Los resultados senalaron que los comentaristas del diario Emol y los de El Pais utilizaron un numero similar de marcadores de compromiso; por otro lado, tampoco identificamos variacion significativa en el uso de estos marcadores en los dos ambitos tematicos, aunque en ambos periodicos se utilizaron mas en los comentarios sobre noticias politicas. EnglishThe purpose of this research is to determine and analyse the engagement markers used in the comments on the news published in the online papers El Pais (Spain) and Emol (Chile). The comments were selected from two different contexts: politics and sports. In this study we consider engagement markers as part of interactional metadiscourse, that is, the elements that involve readers to call their attention or to include them as participants of discourse (Hyland, 2005a). In this research, a corpus of 2,400 comments were compiled and tagged manually and with UAM Corpus Tool. The purpose of the analysis was to identify the metadiscoursal strategies used as engagement markers. This article aims to compare audio descriptions created by \u0000professionals and by students in Spanish, in order to identify commonalities and divergences, \u0000if any. Part of the VIW corpus is used to that end. Although limited in size, the VIW corpus is \u0000the first open-access multilingual multimodal corpus of audio descriptions, including various \u0000audio descriptions of the same visual input, namely the short film “What happens while”. The \u0000analysis presented in this paper focuses on quantitative data such as the number of words, \u0000number of AD units and sentences, as well as on the distribution of word classes. Where relevant, \u0000data are compared to general language corpora so as to highlight the specificities of \u0000the language of audio description. The paper also compares the most frequent words used \u0000by both groups, and a selection of semantic classes automatically retrieved is analysed. Los informantes realizaron dos tareas, la primera bajo presion de tiempo y la segunda bajo condiciones relativamente mas favorables de actuacion, y sus textos se evaluaron mediante una escala de evaluacion analitica. La capacidad de la memoria operativa se midio a traves de las pruebas Speaking Span Task y Math Span Task. Asimismo, se utilizo una prueba de repeticion de pseudopalabras para evaluar su capacidad de la memoria fonologica. Los resultados mostraron que la memoria operativa predijo de manera significativa la calidad del discurso escrito, siendo su contribucion ligeramente mayor en la tarea de mayor complejidad cognitiva. Por otro lado, la memoria fonologica tuvo una influencia positiva en la actuacion, aunque solo en la realizacion de la tarea de menor complejidad cognitiva. EnglishThe purpose of this study was to investigate the role of working memory capacity (WMC) in foreign language (FL) written production. Sixty-five Greek learners of Spanish as a FL performed two written tasks, the first one under time pressure and the second one under relatively easier task conditions (i.e. more time-on-task), and their linguistic performance was assessed by an analytical assessment scale. WMC was measured by means of three tasks, i.e. the Speaking Span Task, the Math Span Task and a non-word repetition task, which was designed in order to measure the phonological short-term memory capacity. Para ello, hemos pasado una serie de encuestas a traves de Internet a los rumanos residentes en Canarias registrados en la Asociacion RUMACAN1 . Unido a los resultados de las encuestas, hemos utilizado para la investigacion distintas fuentes escritas, como revistas cientificas, publicaciones, textos virtuales, nacionales e internacionales, recogidas en repositorios virtuales. Nuestros resultados confirman que las dificultades que los aprendices rumanos presentan en el espanol hablado pueden ser extrapoladas al nivel escrito. Hemos podido comprobar que se trata de dificultades en la concordancia entre el articulo y el adjetivo con el sustantivo, la concordancia entre sujeto y verbo, el uso del verbo haber en distintos tiempos verbales, el uso del subjuntivo en oraciones subordinadas sustantiva y adjetiva, la pasiva refleja y el uso del digrafo rr. Este estudio puede considerarse como punto de partida de futuras investigaciones relacionadas con la ensenanza del espanol, no solamente para el colectivo rumano, sino que para todos aquellos colectivos cuya lengua de proveniencia sea una lengua romance. EnglishThe main goals of this paper try to analyze and deepen in the difficulties of learning Spanish in the Romanian community resident in the Canary Islands. For this purpose, we have passed a series of surveys over the Internet to Romanian residents registered in the Canary RUMACAN2 Association. Stated to the survey results, we have researched in various written sources, such as scientific journals, publications, virtual, national and international texts, collected in virtual repositories. Our results confirm that the difficulties Romanian trainees presented in spoken Spanish can be extrapolated to the written level.We have found that there are difficulties in the concordance between the article and the adjective with the noun, the agreement between subject and verb, the use of the verb haber in different tenses, use of the subjunctive in substantive subordinate clauses and adjective, the reflexive passive and use the digraph rr. El marco teorico se basa en la metafora conceptual. Los objetivos del estudio son describir las categorias metaforicas por cohorte; establecer similitudes y diferencias entre las cohortes, y determinar la estabilidad de las categorias metaforicas obtenidas. Desde 2012 a 2014 se aplico un instrumento de entrada escrita a estudiantes de 1.er ano. En 2014 se aplico tambien a estudiantes de 5.o ano, con quienes se realizo ademas un grupo focal para profundizar la informacion obtenida en el instrumento de entrada escrita; luego se les aplico una escala para clasificar las categorias metaforicas segun su nivel de representatividad. Los resultados muestran que los factores del contexto social y profesional inciden en la configuracion de los conceptos con que los sujetos creen que el profesorado es representado por la sociedad. EnglishThis article presents a conceptual metaphor analysis of teacher’s social images in a group of Chilean pre-service teachers. The theoretical framework is based on conceptual metaphors. The aims of the study are to describe the metaphoric categories per cohort of students, to establish similarities and differences, and to determine the stability of the obtained metaphoric categories. From 2012 to 2014, a written prompt was administered to first year pre-service teachers, and in 2015 this instrument was also given to fifth year pre-service teachers to whom a focus group interview was run to deepen the information provided by the written prompt. A scale was given to them afterwards to classify the metaphoric categories, according to their level of representation.
