Ulama plays a critical role in safeguarding the morality of Muslim society (umma). Drawing upon the historical approach, it employed Kuntowijoyo model of writing history stages and Anthony Giddens' structuration theory to analyze the problems that this study intends to answer. This study argues that the social structure surrounding the Mandailing ulama enabled them to address religious and other sociocultural issues. This study also unveiled that the Mandaling ulama in the early 20th century mobilized the organizations, such as Al Washliyah (1930), Al-Ittihadiyah (1935), and Nahdlatul Ulama (1918) to promote the education of the indigenous people, fortify the Sunni school of thought from the heretical and influence of Dutch colonial government. It was manifested by supporting only two Islamic political parties: the Masjumi Party and the Nahdlatul Ulama Party. This ethnographic research observes and holds in-depth interviews with eight mixed-faith families comprising four to eight family members. This study finds that mixed-faith families continue to carry out the process of faith education and identity formation for all their members. However, the presence of family members with different religions gives a distinctive character because there are always negotiations, adaptations, and even transformations. The form, intensity, and model of faith education between families differ depending on the context of a mixed-faith family formation, one's position and power in the family, one's way of thinking about religion, and the spiritual environment around the family. Faith education in a mixed-faith family can positively deepen faith, strengthen religious identity, increase knowledge about other religions, foster tolerance, and appreciate diversity. This can also fade away the identity and belief of the minority and even can lead to conversion. The critical reviews of the literature from refereed and peer-reviewed articles were employed using thematic topic analysis on the flourishing of moral enhancement with a special reference to Al-Zarnūjī's Ta‘lim al-Mutallim, in giving an insightful value to spiritual engagement. The results show that the subsequent phase of moral flourishing with spirituality comes from niyyah (goal-oriented commitment) as the enhanced enthusiasm derived from the continued consistency of doing goodness in the human morality indicator. This is followed with faqīhan mutawarri‘an (clear comprehension with carefulness) as comprehending personal behaviour with knowledge and moral quality. The following point supported muwāḍabah (thorough attempts) as the expansion of wide-ranging performance made for moral development and continued into sustaining individual behavioural growth with a spiritual quality. The lack of attention of Islamic scholars to the concept of heroism was significant, emphasized by analyzing the heroism of Muhammad al-Fatih in Indonesian Islamic comics, using the socio-heroism theory of Kristian Frisk. Critical discourse analysis reviews the relation of the Qur'an-Hadith visions in the Muhammad al-Fatih comic with the social discourse of heroism in Indonesia. Furthermore, this study concludes that Islamic heroism is recognized based on two aspects, namely the transcendental recognition from the information of the Qur'an-Hadith vision and the inherent recognition from the Muslim community. It also discovered that Islamic comics in Indonesia introduce the heroism of Muhammad al-Fatih due to several factors and objectives. First is the long-standing relationship with the Turkish community. Second, the Islamic heroism in Muhammad al-Fatih's actions is considered a sign of Islamic glories and brilliance. Third, his victory is considered by some groups as an example and a positive role model for Muslims from various aspects. The syar'i hijab that displays visualization of the discourse of piety and beauty makes consumption practices an effort to articulate the identity of Muslim women for religious observance. Massive distribution through the media or fashion show events is part of the visualization of the lifestyle of fashion fans which is echoed for the perpetuation of capitalism in the circulation of production, distribution and consumption of hijab products which is echoed through the discourse of covering the genitals according to syar'i. . Consumption of hijab product brands shows social class to differentiate themselves. This often leads to aesthetic violence in an effort to match the tastes of the lower class to force them to buy hijab products with the same brand as the figure they idolize. Consumption practices that show the articulation of Muslim women's identities in religious discourse are increasingly being captured by capitalism in an effort to create changes in hijab modes. This study will, however, shed light on this issue from another angle, namely a bio-spiritual standpoint, since the human being is made up of psycho-somatic features, or body, mind, and soul, with particular reference precisely to the human metabolism: endocrine system. This article will argue that human hormones, which have a pivotal role in human metabolism, are related to seven glands. These glands are actively managed to be stipulated by the activation of seven subtle energy centers, chakras, which can be done, among other things, by prayer (ṣalāh). To say the other way round, prayer (ṣalāh) will activate the seven chakras that will, in turn, stimulate the seven glands of the human endocrine system and will eventually boost the hormones that are significant for human life.
