A total of 238 students participated in this cross-sectional study. The ultraprocessed food consumption frequency was assessed and the Yale Food Addiction Scale was applied. The overall prevalence of food addiction was 10.5%. The mean symptom count for food addiction was lower in the fourth year than in the first and second years (P = .002). During semistructured interviews (N = 23), students discussed social and environmental factors related to food insecurity, as well as the individual factors of food-related time, stress, and skill. A short questionnaire measuring the individual factors was developed and implemented with the US Department of Agriculture food security survey (N = 270). Between the food secure and insecure groups, there were significant differences in relation to food-related time, stress, and skill (P < .01). Daily intake of CSDs was significantly correlated with an increased risk of anxiety, depression, and low bone mineral density (BMD) (P-trend = .000) compared with consumption of less than 1 CSD per week. About one-third of participants reported a moderate anxiety level, 26.4% reported a moderate depression level, and 7.8% reported a severe depression level. Furthermore, 67.2% of participants classified with osteopenia and 8.6% classified with osteoporosis. In the TRF group, there was a statistically significant decrease in body weight, body mass index, and waist and hip circumference (P < .05). Furthermore, there was a statistically significant greater decrease in blood glucose, insulin, cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol in the TRF group (P < .05). TRF did not affect eating behavior or diet quality (P > .05), but it led to a decrease in fiber intake (P < .05). These findings suggest that consuming food within an 8-hour window may facilitate weight loss in individuals with obesity. This study aimed to investigate the association among food insecurity, malnutrition, and cognitive impairment in elderly. To assess malnutrition, cognitive status, and food insecurity, the questionnaires Mini Nutritional Assessment, Mini-Mental State Examination, and the Household Food Insecurity Access Scale were used. There was a significant association between food insecurity and malnutrition (odds ratio [OR] = 5.36; 95% confidence interval [CI], 2.18-13.17; P < .001). The odds of cognitive impairment in the elderly with food insecurity were also more than 4 times higher than those with food security (OR = 4.35; CI, 1.78-10.59; P = .01). VFT was measured by ultrasonography as the distance between the inner wall of the rectus abdominis and the anterior abdominal aortic wall. The risk of visceral obesity increased with the increase in MNA-SF values independent of age, gender, diabetes mellitus, and alcohol history (odds ratio = 1.534, 95% CI 1.176–2.002, P = .002). The optimal cut-off point of the MNA-SF to predict visceral obesity was measured as 12.5 (area under the curve = 0.617, 95% CI 0.558–0.676). Adequate practice, within pedagogical methods designed to mimic actual dietetics practice scenarios as realistically as possible, is necessary to increase student NCP skill proficiency and confidence. This study assessed the impact of a virtual escape room experience compared with a traditional case study on both NCP skills and confidence in a senior didactic program in dietetics for undergraduate students. Perceptions on precepting were obtained from 378 registered dietitian nutritionists. The top benefits of precepting included improved teaching skills, staying current/stimulated in the profession, and increased awareness of practice area. Frequently reported barriers included inadequate compensation, time, and reward. People who had not precepted in the past year indicated higher perceived benefits of precepting. Those who indicated they would discontinue precepting reported significantly fewer benefits and more barriers than those who would continue. Of the 629 subjects, 540 were cases who took PF supplements and 89 were controls who did not take PF. Univariate analysis showed that maternal age and body mass index were the most significant risk factors for developing PPD. Threshold effect analysis showed that maternal age of more than 26 years was an independent determinant of PPD.
