The physical mechanism of turn-on di/dt shift with gate oxide degradation is first analyzed. Then, high-temperature gate bias tests are applied to two kinds of devices to accelerate gate oxide degradation. The aging test shows that turn-on di/dt-delay can be used as a precursor for SiC MOSFET gate oxide degradation with detectable amplitude shift. Subsequently, a di/dt-delay extraction circuit based on the parasitic inductance of SiC MOSFET power source pin is designed. Finally, the validity of the extraction circuit is verified by double-pulse tests.","PeriodicalId":45126,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal-Japan Focus","volume":"4 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80332399","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the control scheme of WFs based on topology reconfiguration is proposed to recover the voltage of faulty WTs terminals and ensure the safe operation of the large-scale WFs. During the closed-loop process of collector lines, the impedance matrices of all closed-loop schemes are pre-calculated to get an approximation of the inrush current. The closed-loop positions of collector lines are optimized based on the integer second-order cone programming by considering the contact line cost and average voltage deviation. Finally, the fault is isolated by circuit breakers to recover the flow direction of WFs. The effectiveness of the proposed closed-loop scheme is validated in Matlab.","PeriodicalId":45126,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal-Japan Focus","volume":"14 1","pages":"1-7"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76438753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Comparing to single energy storage system, hybrid energy storage system has some advantages and has drown much attention. A novel hybrid energy storage topology based on multilevel modular converter(MMC) has been proposed. The MMC-based topology has better reliability, and simplified control. This paper focus on the operation of the MMC-based hybrid energy storage system under dynamic and grid fault conditions. The frequency response and power allocation method for the MMC-based hybrid energy storage under dynamic conditions is presented, and unbalance current compensation and low voltage ride through strategy is proposed. A low voltage ride through recover method is proposed to fasten the recover process. All the control method is verified by PLECS-based simulation. With proposed control in this paper, the MMC-based hybrid energy storage can deal with several dynamic and grid fault conditions.","PeriodicalId":45126,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal-Japan Focus","volume":"37 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87347742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this context, voltage oscillations due to the control interaction should be avoided in the system. In addition, the system requires a regulated bus voltage with small transient deviations. However, most existing stabilization methods including active capacitor converters cannot ensure the transient performance of the cascaded system. This paper proposes an active auxiliary circuit that can emulate passive RC circuits and switch the RC parameters in load transients and steady states, which can stabilize the cascaded system and mitigate fast load transients. The parameter design of the proposed auxiliary circuit and the stability analysis of the cascaded system with the auxiliary circuit are introduced. Simulation results are given to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":45126,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal-Japan Focus","volume":"78 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86085110","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As an all-liquid battery, the mechanisms and effects of its internal flow still need to be further studied. In this work, we establish two-dimensional (2D) axisymmetric models coupling both the thermal field and electromagnetic field based on Li|LiCl-KCl|Bi system. The fluid motions inside the batteries driven by temperature field, electromagnetic field, and coupled field are analyzed contrastively, revealing the dominant role of thermal convection. Moreover, the effects of the flow driven by different physical fields on the electrochemical reaction process are investigated. Those results are of great significance for further understanding the electrochemical process of LMB and other battery systems and optimizing the battery performance.","PeriodicalId":45126,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal-Japan Focus","volume":"110 1","pages":"1-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80573309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the cost recovery of energy storage is complex, and government subsidies are still needed at this stage. To save government investment and improve the economic benefits of energy storage, the authorities need to choose an appropriate technology route so that the market can better allocate energy storage resources. The paper studies the current situation and policies of energy storage participation in the electricity market and provides essential experience for developing the regional electricity market in China. The main goal of energy storage is to maximize the portfolio’s profitability and find a balance between market revenues, overall storage costs, and reliable operations. The results of this paper suggest that the relevant authorities should clarify the main identity of energy storage in the electricity market and revise the mechanisms to help it participate in the ancillary services market, and should allow large storage plants and aggregated distributed storage to participate in each market segment, allowing them to trade flexibly in each market to exploit their flexibility and system value fully.","PeriodicalId":45126,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal-Japan Focus","volume":"41 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85120155","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This represents about half of all transportation energy, once the transition to electricity is complete. Basic outlet infrastructure is far cheaper and more scalable than the faster infrastructure emphasized in much present work. Comparisons are made to show how basic outlets can serve as critical electrification infrastructure. The vehicles themselves can support measurement, metering, and communication for billing and for grid flexibility. A vehicle owner can choose to support limited flexibility, controlled by the vehicle itself, to track for minimum energy pricing. Alternatively, for even lower prices, a vehicle owner could allow a grid operator or aggregator to modulate charging and support dynamic grid services. The work shows how infrastructure in a city can scale to millions of energy access points.","PeriodicalId":45126,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal-Japan Focus","volume":"17 1","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81687656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the online monitoring of junction temperature for discrete SiC MOSFETs is achieved by simultaneous measurements of their on-state voltage and current. A dedicated calibration circuit that decouples switching and conduction losses is used to obtain a look-up table for the junction temperature. According to the test results, under the operating condition with current of 50 A and temperature of $175^{circ} C$, a single pulse test of $10 mu$ can cause a temperature rise of 8-9 $^{circ} C$, due to the self-heating effect of the discrete SiC MOSFETs. This temperature rise of DUT during the calibration test is compensated by the Foster network thermal model of the device afterwards.","PeriodicalId":45126,"journal":{"name":"Asia-Pacific Journal-Japan Focus","volume":"18 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90157860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
