Due to multipath fading, strength of the signal at the receiver becomes very weak. This increases the bit error rate (BER) and hence reduces the efficiency of the whole system. The reduced signal strength can be compensated by employing equalization techniques at the receiver. MIMO refers to a wireless technique for transmitting and receiving more than one signal over the same channel by using multipath propagation. In this paper, the performance of the MIMO system is evaluated under various fading channels (Rayleigh and Rician). But the safety of the pedestrians in the road is also equally important. This paper analyses the safety system employed to avoid the collision of vehicle with the pedestrians using warning signals and automatic braking of the vehicle is done in the worst case. The safety system employed here uses image processing for pedestrian identification and brake by wire method of automatic braking. In this paper, the analysis is done by preparing an experimental setup, simulating and obtaining the results. The methodology of the experiment is that when a pedestrian is detected in the camera, the warning light glows and when the collision is imminent, the vehicle automatically brakes. It is an undesirable effect, as it not only degrades the image quality but also limits the information conveyed by that image. Thus for correct interpretation of the image, shadow detection and removal becomes a necessary step in image processing. Many works have been carried out in this field which can successfully detect and remove the shadow from an image, for example gamma correction, histogram matching, correlation techniques etc but it is still a challenging task to do the same automatically. As a result, there is increase in harmonics at distortion side of the power system. The harmonics are responsible for current and voltage disturbances and deteriorate the performance of the system. There are various strategies for compensating the adverse effects of harmonics on the performance of load and sometimes the entire power system. Therefore, to minimize the harmonics, the filters are very much essential. The most widely used technique is the application of power filters in the system. In this paper, the harmonic minimization is carried out by incorporating passive filters and active filters which are generated due to the furnace load operation. The proposed work focuses on using a controlled strategy for extracting the voltage and current harmonics from arc furnace load using hybrid active power filters; and has been implemented using MATLAB. The research investigates the analysis and comparison of implemented shunt hybrid active power filter by tuning conventional PI controller and optimal controller tuned with Harmony Search Algorithm (HSA) on the furnace load. The proposed technique gives the Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) content which is minimum as compared to the conventional PI controller. The main objective of this paper is to find the optimal location of substation considering cost as an objective function. In this work also feeder routing is carried out considering four types of conductors. The optimal location of substation & feeder routing is carried out such that the radiality of the system is maintained. Conductor selection is also performed to further reduce the cost. The load is modeled as composite load considering all four practical voltage dependent load models. The projected method has been evaluated to demonstrate the convergence ability of the power flow program for different voltage dependent load models by varying loading conditions, power factor, R/X ratios and load growth scenarios. In this paper, the National Instruments LabVIEW software along with a low-cost microcontroller based data acquisition (DAQ) card is used for real-time remote monitoring of some of the hazardous gases like carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide present in the environment. For implementation of proposed scheme, the parts per million (ppm) data values of the above gases are obtained from the data acquisition card using the respective gas sensors and are serially communicated to LabVIEW software. The measured ppm data values of the gases are conditioned and calibrated with the standard values in the LabVIEW environment. Finally, the data values of gases are monitored at the test condition and are continuously stored in MS Excel database for data warehousing.
