Investigation of pedestrian collision avoidance with auto brake
For a car, the safety of the passengers in the car is important. But the safety of the pedestrians in the road is also equally important. This paper analyses the safety system employed to avoid the collision of vehicle with the pedestrians using warning signals and automatic braking of the vehicle is done in the worst case. The safety system employed here uses image processing for pedestrian identification and brake by wire method of automatic braking. In this paper, the analysis is done by preparing an experimental setup, simulating and obtaining the results. The methodology of the experiment is that when a pedestrian is detected in the camera, the warning light glows and when the collision is imminent, the vehicle automatically brakes. This system is also used for parking and reverse assist to the driver.
