However, how to provide learners informal learning activities that consider their personal contexts, while related to their formal learning context, is still an open research challenge. In this paper, we build upon our previous work to semi-automatically create a set of activities to be deploy in Moodle out of open data from the Web. We obtained 7,596 learning activities related to historical buildings from Castile and Leon, which are related to the student previous learning experiences in informal contexts. Thus, we illustrate how to automatically create Moodle activities to support Smart Education.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"434 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116009505","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim was to get an understanding of the participants’ views regarding the use of game elements and to examine the user type profile of this group in order to explore the potential of applying user types in planning gamification solutions for teacher students. The participants’ overall experience of having game elements as part of their course platform was principally positive. User types students presented were investigated using the Hexad scale adapted from game design: in this user group, Socialiser and Philanthropist were the predominant types while Disruptor was by far the least common one. In terms of learning tasks, the participants expressed being motivated particularly by tasks with a strong creative focus. The findings inform us about the directions to take in the development of suitable solutions for supporting teacher students’ motivation in online and blended learning.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"38 14","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114109091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It aims to ensure that the information it produces is relevant, accurate and of high quality. This article presents a study of the curricula of the faculties of Communication and Journalism of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN), with the aim of highlighting the development of these competences in the training of journalists. The research question is: What is the relationship between the media competences present in the curricula of the journalism faculties and the aptitude of journalists to counteract misinformation? To answer this question, a mixed study is carried out, which evaluates the media competences in the curricula of journalism schools, as well as the skills of journalists and journalism students. The preliminary results show that the dimensions of Interaction Processes and Production Processes are developed more intensively in the training of journalists, despite the fact that the greatest professional demand points towards the technological dimension.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126754093","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This impact has been transformed into numerous changes in the ways processes and services are carried out. The Educational Innovation track of the international conference \"Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality\", has not been alien to these changes. The activities carried out until this year in face-to-face form, have had to be carried out in online form. This new situation is also considered as an opportunity to carry out the processes and services by innovating and incorporating new features. In this track the advantages of the previous editions have been kept, such as: to know the state of art in educational innovation, exchange knowledge, learning among peers, meet people with similar interests, etc. Along with them, other features have been included, as the study and analysis, through the Ecolab activity, to check the evolution of certain indicators of educational innovation.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116628265","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

And the universe of Librarianship maintains its relevance and impact on the distribution of knowledge, especially in Covid-19 times, when people need lack more information to make daily decisions. In this scenario, two stereotypes are commonly confused with reality: that the area of Librarianship concerns only the storage and loan of books in libraries and that social media, such as Instagram, can only be used for informal topics and of little relevance. The objective of this research is to recognize how the area of Library Science needs to explore more the spaces of social networks, with themes that bring society closer together, in order to demonstrate its ability to transmit information beyond the physical structures of libraries. For this purpose, through a qualitative research, a comparative analysis of the content produced in 2019 and 2020, before and during the Covid-19 pandemic, was carried out by the Brazilian library councils. Such content, published in the councils Instagram profiles, was categorized by their themes and these categories were compared in the two scenarios. As a result, a significant change was observed in the content analyzed, signaling a closer approach to topics of general interest to society and, consequently, an approach between Librarianship with society itself through a greater use of Digital Marketing tools, such as Instagram.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132608553","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In recent years Escape rooms have attracted the interest of educators and institutions for their ability to foster the development of valuable skills, considered critical for the job market such as teamwork, leadership, creative thinking, communication and a variety of soft skills necessary for professional success. In teaching, the design of Escape rooms is still in its embryonic stage, but new studies are emerging. As several authors report the learning is absorbed more effectively by students with active participation, practices and discussions on content [21],[4]. These skills are extensively developed in the application of the Escape rooms which are planned and designed specifically for each content, according to the need and learning objectives. The design and development of these Escape rooms is a crucial phase of the process and a challenge for many educators who wish to apply these activities in the classroom. In order to offer a timely contribution to this body of knowledge, this article synthesises the creation and design of Escape rooms in an educational environment, based on existing literature. To this end, the study builds on selected examples of success and some references and tools for creating Escape rooms.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"695 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129412563","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Reflective blogging can be an invaluable tool for peer learning and professional development, particularly in appreciative environments where people feel safe to share their experiences. The proposed model introduces Systems Thinking as an effective way to facilitate group reflective practice for social-emotional learning and resilience building in a blended learning environment. Participants practice how to acknowledge different perspectives and how to integrate them into a coherent group narrative, the collective story of their community. Systems thinking entails a shift of focus from the parts to the relationships between and treats any group of participants as a living network, a learning rhizome in the becoming. In this view, collective intelligence rises as an emergent system property. We provide the case of a recent implementation of the proposed model to reflect and elaborate further on practical aspects of the approach, such as how to cultivate reflective writing among the participants, how to synthesize a group meta-narrative, how to evaluate individual contributions, and how to nurture a learning organization. The aim is to present a concise and authentic account of this approach so as to enable other educators and practitioners to get inspiration, make necessary adaptations, and utilize it in their own practice.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128479863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the next years, higher education should increase the number of virtual contents and Virtual Reality is a the best way to achieve it, as it offers a way to access classrooms, get interactive and immersive content and even evaluate the students. This project is born from the exploration of the educational possibilities of Virtual Reality in higher education. Therefore, the objective of this study is to validate the use of the VR platform \"Medical Studium\" for the teaching-learning process of medical students. For the evaluation a sample of 19 students have been selected from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Salamanca (Spain), using both quantitative and qualitative data. Objective evidence and a questionnaire have been used as a data collection instrument. The results show that it helps them to better study some concepts that may seem difficult for students, as well as how to solve the limitation problems they have regarding the training of surgical operations. In addition, students are more motivated thanks to interaction with virtual and immersive content and they can reproduce a lesson as many times as they need. These findings can mean a change in both teaching and learning, as it is an improvement for students in their practical training.","PeriodicalId":430095,"journal":{"name":"Eighth International Conference on Technological Ecosystems for Enhancing Multiculturality","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133935043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
