However, many textile companies around the world were not able to meet customer demands due to poor supply chain planning and ineffective production systems. Similarly, companies in the local textile SME industry are often not able to comply with order deadlines. Within this context, this paper presents a case study of a medium-sized textile company in Peru, which reports similar problems to other companies due to non-fulfilled orders. For these purposes, the Standardization and Systematic Layout Planning (SLP) tools are proposed under a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) environment with the objective of improving takt-times and the percentage of Non-Value-Adding (NVA) activities, which will lead to a 25% reduction in Production Lead Times, thus fulfilling and delivering all orders to the required market. On the other hand, 3 scenarios will be proposed and, to validate each of the proposed results, the Arena Simulator was used, which allows for a 95% confidence level.","PeriodicalId":391964,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129186913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Latin America's 50 Best Restaurants for the period 2020 and 2021 is selected as a case, because: (1) it is an international ranking that unifies and selects the best restaurants in a specific geographical sector, (2) each of the restaurants on the list have a tradition of providing a service that is consumed or experienced locally as it allows them to control all aspects of the gastronomic experience, (3) before the Covid-19 pandemic, given the differentiated product offerings by each restaurant, the restaurants did not work with food delivery applications (4) before the Covid-19 pandemic, their menus were printed on paper and not in digital format through the use of mobile technology, (5) the preparations and presentations they offered before of the Covid-19 pandemic were intended for consumption at the point of sale service and not for delivery. To carry out the study, an analysis was carried out comparing various variables that later allowed us to evaluate whether archive technologies were opportunities for the enterprises of our sample. We found that the offer of this type of restaurant had to adapt to the new scenario, going from seeing mobile technology as a simple marketing tool to a new commercial ally, adapting to the needs of each of these technologies and therefore adapting their respective product mix. and packaging. The methodology consists of reviewing the list of the 50 best restaurants in Latin America in 2021 and making a comparison with the 2020 list based on predefined parameters, based on the study through their websites and social networks.","PeriodicalId":391964,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM)","volume":" 30","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120834403","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the challenges to digital inclusion for lower income groups is cost. Digital Inclusion is related to the second concept of Social Sustainability. This includes (among other sub-topics) social capital, community development, and social equity. Thirdly, Digital Sustainability can be seen as having modern technology tools as an approach to support environmental and social sustainability, as for example, in [1]. The interest of this paper is to investigate a current technology or device that may be potentially used in a beneficial way toward these three concepts. This research is guided by an action research and social change model with three phases (Planning, Action, and Results). With the present research, the trial has involved rolling out Raspberry Pi 400 computers (which will be referred to as single board computers later in the paper) for home use, coupled with an inexpensive community internet scheme to access news, e-government and educational websites. It should also be noted here that the devices come with keyboards and the displays are provided for free by local organisations and the e-recycling centre. After use, the devices are received back by the institute, in order to be recycled or provided to new users in the community. The accompanying review of academic literature and technical websites indicates that there is a gap around using these devices for the general population digital inclusion purposes, and that this is a novel approach. The participants were interested because of the opportunity to receive new equipment. This article has two research questions: 1) Can inexpensive pre-configured single board computers be used on a daily basis by lower-income citizens? and 2) How can such use help toward social and digital sustainability? The method is action research with an evaluation of the technology, whether or not it makes a positive contribution toward the solution for digital access cost restrictions. Feedback has been obtained from users in the latter months of 2021, with a questionnaire and diary as well as observations from the research team. The interim findings and reflections indicate that this project is feasible and socially beneficial as long as it continues to be led from this institute.","PeriodicalId":391964,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116189443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, an industrial report shows that many consumers are reluctant to use AI-Chatbots. The purpose of this paper is to verify the effect of social elements on consumers' intention to utilize and intention to explore AI-chatbots. Based on the SOR model, this paper proposes that social elements of AI-Chatbots affect perceived intimacy, which is moderated by the consumers' need for human interaction. Perceived intimacy further facilitates consumers' trust in AI-Chatbots. Perceived intimacy and trust in AI-Chatbots reflect the inner states of the consumers and influence consumers' intention to use and explore AI-Chatbots. In this study, 302 valid data were collected by a survey to test the significant role of social elements. Contributions and limitations of this study were discussed.","PeriodicalId":391964,"journal":{"name":"2022 8th International Conference on Information Management (ICIM)","volume":"74 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115071151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it still faces challenges such as low production process productivity derived from an evident lack of standardized procedures. For these purposes, productivity rates at a small bakery were assessed and determined to be 52.60%, which is lower than the industry average. Hence, a production system was developed to reduce defective products and unproductive production times by integrating the 5S, Systematic Layout Planning (SLP), and Work Study tools through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle to increase productivity. Upon validating this model in the Production area, the number of defective products and total travel time were reduced by 24% and 53.43%, respectively.
