Over the past ten years, the number of ongoing LNG carriers has increased dramatically while more carriers are expected to be built in the years ahead. This has led to public concern about the safety of the LNG carriers. In this paper, an overall risk identification for LNG carriers is conducted considering the hazards of LNG as a marine fuel and specific hazards to LNG carriers. Based on this, Fault Tree Analysis has been utilized for risk assessment of LNG carriers. By doing so, this paper provides important reference for shipping management authorities and policymakers on developing effective measures to control the identified hazards, so as to improve the safety level of LNG carriers.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127402733","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also the key to the efficiency of the urban transport system. In this paper, the mesoscopic traffic flow models are improved by integrated with variable speed limits strategy to simulate the dynamic of vehicles on urban expressway network. The models include static queuing model, the velocity model and the vehicle movement model. Moreover the corresponding variable speed limits values can be obtained by proposed simulation method which can aid traffic managers to develop a network traffic flow control strategy. In the end, the elevated expressway network of Jinan city is used as a simulation example. We investigated the performance of the transport system with averaged density, speed and flow on link. We also analyzed the dynamic of the traffic system on expressway network at different demand level. The simulation results show that the proposed models and method are feasible and effective. The variable speed limits strategy can successfully alleviate the traffic congestion in some extent. The operational efficiency of the transportation system is greatly improved.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130703478","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method transforms the feature points in different scenes to the same object space coordinate. Firstly the precision of 2D DLT algorithm has been verified in high-precision 3-D digital camera calibration field. Experiments have been carried out on the platform of miniature traffic scene to calculate errors of the algorithm caused by movements of the camera. The results of the experiments indicated that the errors are all less than 2.5%. Although the errors present a rising trend, the limitation of actual traffic scene makes the proposed method available. The researching results can be used as an aid for speed measuring of road accident identified, and it can provide a scientific basis for the error estimation of the speed identification based on surveillance video which the backgrounds are changing.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130883624","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the scheduling of packet transmission over wireless communication networks in CPS is studied for the purpose of system state stabilization. To measure the effective information amount of different packets, the concept of virtual queue is defined based on the Delay-tolerant Kalman filtering. Virtual queue based back pressure scheduling algorithm is proposed for the distributed data traffic scheduling. The impact of packet losses on virtual queue lengths is also studied for the formulation of distributed scheduling strategy. The scheduling method is then applied in the context of voltage control in micro-grid and is demonstrated to achieve better performance than general scheduling algorithm without the awareness of dynamics state. Further numerical simulations of data traffic scheduling considering packet losses are carried out at networked system with data packet dropout governed by a Markov process to demonstrate algorithm validity.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121510014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper describes a design of an intelligent vehicle control platform based on brain-computer interface (BCI), which obtains EEG through BCI, then simulation model is established by Matlab /Simulink to extract and classify EEG as control command, which will be sent to intelligent vehicle by wireless serial port communication, so as to realize the control of intelligent vehicle on roads of the sandbox. By imaging four status: left hand, right hand, right leg and resting, the platform can accomplish the real-time control of intelligent vehicle on road of the sandbox, including turning left, turning right, going forward and stopping. The findings of that experiment show that the control system has good feasibility and stability, which lays the foundation for the practical application of the control of intelligent vehicle via EEG signal. The accomplishment of this platform provides a new approach to expanding and improving human capability to control external equipment.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123127723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most important issue is that analysis zone size is usually large, and therefore, homogeneous or single-type land uses cannot be achieved in many cases. Subsequently, intra-zone travel and mixed activities distribution cannot be captured and modeling accuracy has to be compromised. This study analyzes the form and spatial structure/pattern of different LUs within zone and find correlations between LU types and several morphological properties (building height, building area, building perimeter, building compactness, and parcel area) of parcels and their spatial arrangement indexes (Gabriel Line and Gabriel Length). Binary logistic model is then applied and fitted to the morphological properties and spatial indexes in order to extract residential and commercial LUs. The final Result demonstrates that residential and commercial LUs are extracted with an overall accuracy of 98.4% and 69.0% respectively.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122301631","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Finding regional taxicab demand is the key for reducing this disequilibrium. In this paper we investigate a taxicab demand model characterized by estimating demand distribution and recovering sparse data. When more and more trajectories accumulate, statistical characters gradually emerge, revealing a spatiotemporal correlated model. Three methods are addressed on this model: Parzen window estimation is used to get every-hour TSR (taxi service rate). Then, we leverage collaborative filtering to recover corrupted data. A TSR based neural network is to predict the demand. Experimental study is on real Beijing trajectory data, the result demonstrates that our proposed methods are able to feature taxicab demand and to provide dynamic demand prediction.","PeriodicalId":389628,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Conference on Transportation Information and Safety (ICTIS)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115265091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
