It is revealed that direct impressions from his paintings received in London played a large role in his passion for Turner's art. Thanks to them, Somov was carried away by the task of conveying a rainbow in a landscape as an atmospheric phenomenon. Essays on art history, i.e. written sources, are also found - the works of John Ruskin and Richard Muter prepared his interest in this master back in St Petersburg.","PeriodicalId":37537,"journal":{"name":"Academia (Greece)","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70465974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They were sоld to the Museum by Evgeny Lanceray in 1935. Most of the books have marginalia, made by A. Benois in German and French. The notes show the manner of Benois reading, his high erudition and creative comprehension of the text. In autumn 2020, the collection of Benois books was enhanced by “Aus Meinem Leben” of W. Tischbein (Berlin, 1922) bought especially for the Pushkin Museum by M. Karisalov. There are numerous marks in it as well. Now all the books with margin notes are digitalized. The versatile sphere of expression of the leading representatives of the “second wave” of Russian Symbolism, traditionally associated with the Moscow decadence of the 1900s, is subjected to more thorough and differentiated analysis in the context of recent research. If the first art historians of the “Blue Rose” group phenomenon concentrated on movement’s generalized description, nowadays the program aspects of the Blue Rose aesthetics are being explored in details, the poorly studied artists’ creative biographies are brought up to date. The growing archive base allows us to take a new look at the key moments of “Blue Rose” poetics’ formation and its involvement in the development of modernism, indicating a new stage in the study of the works of Moscow symbolists.","PeriodicalId":37537,"journal":{"name":"Academia (Greece)","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70466907","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A brief overview of the “thing” transition from an object to performativity in the art of the XXth century through Rosalind Krauss theory is given. Seriality, fiction and documentation became the main existential factors for the art objects in post-medium era. The way graphic drawings possess simultaneously material and temporary properties is shown.","PeriodicalId":37537,"journal":{"name":"Academia (Greece)","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70466999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Konashevich, to the graphic tradition of the “World of Art”. The influence of the masters of this circle was particularly evident in the early work of Konashevich (1917-1922). However, even in this period, the artist was not the epigone of the luminaries, he used the discoveries of his older comrades to solve problems that lay outside the circle of their interests, he was looking for his own style.
