Thanks to them, Somov was carried away by the task of conveying a rainbow in a landscape as an atmospheric phenomenon. Abstract
The article examines the influence of William Turner's landscapes with a rainbow on the landscapes of Konstantin Somov also depicting a rainbow of the late 1890s - mid 1920s. It is revealed that direct impressions from his paintings received in London played a large role in his passion for Turner's art. Thanks to them, Somov was carried away by the task of conveying a rainbow in a landscape as an atmospheric phenomenon.
