Development of gaming technologies is closely knitted with human practices and social innovations. Human society has been playing games to socialize and to gain satisfaction leading to a change in the interaction. Gamification has been used successfully to increase user engagement. The concept of fun in gamification is a major belief that is closely linked to human nature. However, there is an absence of understanding regarding the relationship between engagement in fun beliefs and human behavior. Therefore, the current study aims to fill in the conceptual gap by reporting the systematic review of recent literature addressing the different perspective on the experiences and impacts of playing games. It also examines the human behavior from cultural and social standpoint with regards to the beliefs. This review may challenge ethics, meaning and role of human values in our welfare. The understanding of the topic concepts is identified along with the essential outcomes analyzed using meta-analysis.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127148753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are many issues that need to be firstly addressed, such as infrastructure unreadiness, people's reluctance to accept the technology, and lacks of standard and framework prior to its implementation; before jumping into conclusion that the country needs the technology. Moreover, there is no sufficient evidence to say that the people are willing to change the way they vote from the traditional paper-based to the new electronic system. This paper studies the preference of the people of Mount Merapi on the voting system for the country's presidential election. It looks at how their experience with technology affects their attitude towards electronic voting, and furthermore their intention to use the technology. The result shows that only around 13% of the respondents had experience using computers and the internet, respectively. This paper suggests that this might have caused the reluctance of the people of Mount Merapi to use electronic voting, and that the idea of implementing the technology in Indonesia's presidential election might still be debatable.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"95 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121712557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, with processor design is a tightly integrated development of hardware and software, changes in the processor's hardware architecture would require the same alterations being made on the software side. This paper presents a one-pass assembler design technique that adapts to modifications of the instruction set architecture (ISA) on a reconfigurable processor. A Reduced Instruction Set Computer (RISC) processor core, which is described in Verilog Hardware Description Language (HDL), is used as the testing platform whereby its ISA is expanded to perform the instruction set extension. A lexical analyzer and tokenization technique is adopted in the assembler development with several hash tables are setup to store all the tokens. The assembler would generate a coefficient file that contained all the translated instruction codes sourced from an assembly program. The coefficient file then is initiated in the memory module of the RISC processor core using Xilinx Spartan-3AN FPGA board. Based on the simulation results, the assemblers have been successfully developed with working coefficient file output format that matched to the ISA modifications.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121845549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective is to find the optimal strategy that maximizes the expected total hyperbolic absolute risk aversion (HARA)-utility of investor weight portfolio over finite life time. There are two assets that take place in to the dynamic portfolio model, risky asset and risk-free bond with constant interest rate. The underlying stock price is obtained under binomial process of Markov chain approximation of diffusion process. The stochastic dynamic programming is used as the approach to solve the problem. In contrast to the continuous-time counterpart, the optimal trading strategies are found to be time-dependent in recursive manners. Sufficient conditions for short selling are given in terms of physical and martingale probabilities of the stock price.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132531466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The antenna has been designed with two meander branch monopole elements and the rectangular ground structure with simple configuration. The first branch is optimized by using a quarter wavelength of desired resonance frequency at 2.45 GHz. Meanwhile, additional branch of second branch brings resonance frequency of 5.8 GHz. This can easily suited by using 50 ohm probe feed with SMA connector. The proposed antenna is simulated by using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) software in order to simulate the return loss, bandwidth, gain, directivity, surface current and radiation pattern. The impedance bandwidth for return loss less than - 10 dB is 284 MHz and 267 MHz for first and second resonance frequency. In fact, second resonance can be adjusted by modifying the second branch length, LB1 with little effect on the first resonance.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123498251","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using panel data from the World Development Indicators, our generalized least squares estimates show telephone, internet and mobile phone densities to have strong, positive and statistically significant impacts to the share of high tech export shares to total exports. The impact of telephone density is the strongest, with a 0.23 percentage point increase in the share of the high tech for every additional telephone made available to every 100 persons. Internet and mobile phone densities of up to 35.23 and 54.16 per 100 persons respectively show strong impacts, but display diminishing marginal effects beyond optimal density ratios. The paper underscores the importance of telecommunication infrastructures in the growth of high technology intensive sectors, most especially among developing countries.","PeriodicalId":364834,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies","volume":"572 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129366973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
