Based on the main aim of the research, the subproblems are how much teaching-learning process is reached its objectives and what the benefits, quality, and gains of the Distance Education Non-thesis Master are according to students’ opinions. The study group of the research was consisted of 23 students. Research method is triangulation method. For quantitative data “Non- thesis Master’s Program Evaluation Questionnaire” which was developed by researchers. For qualitative data structured interview was used. The following results were obtained: 1- The quality of the program is high. 2- The contribution of the program concentrated mostly on increasing of the student perspective. 3- The students enrolled in the program for the reason of improving themselves. 4- There is no meaningful difference between the quality and gains of the program and the causes of the enrollment in the program in terms of gender, marital status, workplace, age, current status and length of work. 5- The most advantageous feature of the program is that there is no time and place limitation. The study is of a descriptive nature and takes as its study group 240 randomly selected children attending independent kindergartens, the preschool year of elementary schools and grade 1 in schools located in central Ankara. There were 40 girls and 40 boys in each group. An agerelated analysis of the drawings created by using Koppitz’s Human Figure Development method showed a statistically meaningful development in all body parts drawn by 5-7 year-old children, other than heads and nostrils. In body part drawings, all body parts other than elbows and number of fingers developed meaningfully with age. All leg parts other than knees, profile, good proportion and clothing consisting of four or more pieces also developed meaningfully with age. The difference between children aged 5-6 years was not statistically meaningful, while the differences between those aged 5-7 and 6-7 were. Overall, 5-year-olds displayed 51,3% of the expected criteria in Koppitz’s Human Figure Development, while 6-year-olds displayed 60% and 7-year-olds displayed 65%. © 2014 IOJES. First immigration of Turkish people was made by Turkish people as a result of pressure of Greeks in Cyprus started in 1940 and increased in 1974. The immigration from Turkey was started in 1970 because of educational, economic and politic reasons. Furthermore many Turkish people immigrated from Asia, Russia and East Europe. All of the can be called “The community speaking Turkish”.This people’s childrens are bilingual and it is questionable whether which language is their mother language. Normally as long as knowing mother language well being bilingual is advantageous. But the reaserces have shown that for Turkish bilingual children bilingulism is disadvantageous. Unconsious families, being careless on awareness of bilingulism are the reason for their low language levels in two languages. In this research it is concluded that English level of the children between 5 and 16 is higher and families try to preserve their children Turkish level but the teachers don’t consider that this levels are satisfactory. It is determined that families efforts are inconcious and Turkish schools and courses are not sufficent because of many reasons. © 2014 IOJES. In Turkey, scientific research on this subject is quite limited. The aim of this research is to examine the thoughts of counselors in training about the ICT. This qualitative study was conducted with 7 senior female students taking Individual Psychological Counseling Practice course in Psychological Counseling and Guidance Undergraduate Program in Yeditepe University. Data were gathered with both a questionnaire consisting of openended questions and focus group discussion. As a result of content analysis, counselors in training were found to think that ICT is positive since it is fast and convenient as a part of the education. Besides, they stated that there are both advantages and disadvantages of online counseling process they conducted within this context. It was understood that being in an online client role is generally easy for counselors in training and this process increases the empathy towards the clients. However, they had difficulties in scenario building and artificial atmosphere. The advantage of conducting online counseling is that it provides enough time to react properly to the clients during sessions, an opportunity to read the conversation again and again, giving opportunity to the people who cannot take counseling service, suitability to people who have difficulty in self-disclosure during face-to-face sessions, and contribution to the counselors’ professional development. Disadvantages of the online counseling is that the clients and the counselors cannot communicate directly; that it is hard to build trust, that it is necessary to take additional precautions about confidentiality, and the differences in time management. © 2014 IOJES. Through this aim, the criterion sampling, one of the purposeful sampling techniques, was employed and a total of 226 classroom teachers constituted the research sample. A questionnaire form including an eightquestion-section based on rating and two-question-section based on classification and interpretation was used. The frequency, percentage, and content analyses were used to analyze the data obtaining from the research. The research finding showed that the classroom teachers mostly focused on writing difficulties appearing in learning writing skills, they believed that the writing difficulties are caused by learning cursive-slanted handwriting style, and had positive and high efficacy beliefs regarding how to deal with writing difficulties. We concluded from the research that the content dimension of writing difficulties is neglected. © 2014 IOJES. The approaches of students studying in secondary schools and high schools to use of leisure time is very important depending on the fact that leisure time of students is quite more at that period of life. Personal Information Form and Leisure Motivation Scale (LMS) were applied to a total of 493 students of which 296 were from Istanbul and 197 from Bursa consisting of 244 male high school and secondary school students (49.5%) and 249 females (50.5%). The personal opinions of students who participated in this questionnaire about leisure activities and facilities are not satisfactory. The study was composed as a survey model. The participants were 271 teacher candidates who are attending Faculty of Education at Gazi University. The Environmental Concern Scale, which was developed by the researcher, was used to gather data. Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient of the scale was found as .859. Data were analyzed via SPSS 18 by using t-test and ANOVA. The results of the study revealed that the concerns about the environment did not differentiate according to gender, age, geographical region, and department, whereas the variables of “knowledge about the environment” and “environmentally-sensitive behavior” were significant in determining the teachers candidates’ level of concerns about the environment. © 2014 IOJES. The study used a relational survey model; the sample group consisted of 513 students (189 male and 324 female) enrolled in the Faculty of Education at Gazi University. Students in this sample groups had different demographic features and were from different classrooms. Research data were obtained using the “Achievement Goals Scales,” “Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale,” “Five-Factor Personality Scale” and “Academic Self-Efficacy Scale.” Path analysis modeling was used to test the hypothesis models. It was found that students’ approach and avoidance achievement goals are explained by cause-effect relationship with personality traits, self-esteem and self-efficacy belief. In this study, it was found that self-efficacy belief and self-esteem are the most important variables that predict approach achievement goals and avoidance achievement goals, respectively. The research results were compared to and discussed with regard to the relevant literature. © 2014 IOJES. The School Children’s Happiness Inventory, Depression Scale for Children and Scale of Positive and Negative Experience were used as data collection instruments in the research. For the validity study of the inventory, structure validity and criterion dependent validity were checked. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was calculated to identify reliability. At the end of the exploratory factor analysis carried out in order to determine the factor structure of the inventory, the inventory was composed of two factors, as is present in its original form. According to the confirmatory factor analysis, the fit indexes of the scale were determined to be at the acceptable level. At the end of the criterion dependent validity study, it was seen that there was a negatively significant relationship between the School Children’s Happiness Inventory and depression and negative experiences, and a positively significant relationship between the inventory and the positive experiences. At the end of the reliability study, it was seen that Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of the inventory was quite high. The study made an attempt to reveal how disciplinary punishments imposed at high schools were distributed by different variables and whether those punishments varied by year, school type, gender, grade, and province. That was a historical study because it focused on six semesters between the years 2006 and 2009. That was also a descriptive quantitative study as it revealed the disciplinary punishments imposed at the above-mentioned schools. Research data were analyzed via SPSS package. Physical violence behaviors are the most frequently seen disciplinary behaviors at schools. In addition, teachers impose punishments, which should normally be inflicted in the last resort, in the first place. In consideration of the research results, it is recommended to provide teachers with in-service training on the subject of approach to disciplinary problems, to enable them to change their approaches to disciplinary behaviors, and to make pre-service teachers take courses about conflict management during their education at faculties of education. © 2014 IOJES.
