The research aim was to compare knowledge of basic school pupils after attend of different teaching models. The combination of quantitative and qualitative methods was used in 7. (age 12 year) and 9. class (age 14 year). Researcher elaborate after entrance pupil´s questioning a set of didactic manuals on the topic of body care, self-concept, body self-concept and physical activity in education promoting health for the new school subject Health Education. After the practical application of these didactic manuals in the seventh grades of primary school, their effectiveness was verified through a final (output) questionnaire survey and made a comparison with the knowledge of pupils from the ninth grade. The results show significant improvement in pupils’ knowledge compared to the entrance questionnaire survey after regular lessons in duration half of year. The knowledge level after introducing the health topics in other subjects (the old teaching model) were significant lower. Keywords: Body care, eating habits, physical activity, self-concept Ozet Ilkokulda Saglik Egitimi Ogretiminin Analizi Arastirma, Saglik egimiyle ilgili yeni bir egitim dalini kapsamaktadir. Calismanin amaci farkli ogretim modelleri uygulanan ilkokul ogrencilerin bilgilerini karsilastirmaktir. Nicel ve nitel yontemlerinin bir kombinasyonu 7. (12 yas) ve 9. siniftaki (14 yas) ogrencilerde kullanilmistir. Arastirmaci yeni baslayan ogrencinin, yeni okuldaki saglik egitimi icin saglik egitimini tesvik eden bir takim ogretici el kitaplarinin temel konusu olan, egitimde vucut bakimi, benlik kavrami, beden benlik kavrami ve fiziksel aktivite gibi konulari sorgulayarak didaktik bir manuel kullanmistir. Bu ogretici kilavuzlarin ilkokulun yedinci sinifinda uygulanmasindan sonra, etkinlikleri nihai bir anket yontemi ile dogrulanmis ve dokuzuncu siniftan ogrencilerin bilgisi ile karsilastirma yapilmistir. Sonuclar, yariyil boyunca duzenli derslere devam ogrencilerin bilgi duzeylerinde, okula girdikleri sirada uygulanan anketlerdeki bilgi seviyelerine kiyasla belirgin bir iyilesme oldugunu gostermektedir. Study group included 203 children who attended public preschools in Kirikkale province during 2012-2013 school year and mothers of these children. Two instruments were utilized so as to collect data in the study. First was the Parent Reading Belief Inventory (PRBI) developed by DeBaryshe and Binder (1994) to assess the reading beliefs of mothers. The other was the Control List for the Evaluation of the Print Awareness of Preschoolers(CLEPAP), which was developed by Şimsek Cetin and Alisinanoglu (2013) to evaluate children’s print awareness. Results indicated no significant relationship between maternal reading beliefs and print awareness of children. It was also found that print awareness of children differed significantly only in terms of age, with no significant difference for gender or the type of school. It was seen that print awareness of 5 year-olds was higher than that of 3 and 4 year-olds. © 2015 IOJES. Thirty-nine TOEFL iBT candidates who were studying TOEFL iBT writing preparation course were chosen as the participants of the study. The research design of this study is based on intervention in which pretests and posttests were administered before and after the technologically-enhanced self-regulated strategies training. Also, the Online Self-regulated Learning Questionnaire (OSLQ) was used to assess the effect of the intervention on students' self-regulated learning skill levels. Based on the data obtained, it was found that students' scores in the TOEFL iBT Writing Task and their self-regulated learning skills considerably improved as a result of the technologically-enhanced self-regulated strategies training. © 2015 IOJES. It is known that we do not have satisfactory results from this examination. For this reason, teaching mathematics subject within the scope of the project, the opinions of teachers, students and prospective teachers on the difficulties and solution strategies of this process and solution strategies are important for having satisfactory results. In this sense, the purpose of this study is to find out the opinions of prospective primary mathematics teachers on the 8th grade mathematics subject within the scope of TIMSS. Besides, the aim is to determine the difficulties that prospective teachers think that they will encounter during the process of conducting lessons on these subjects and to determine solution strategies for these stated difficulties. The study which is designed according to these purposes is a qualitative study which is organized according to the phenemology design and in which document analysis technique is used. The study group is consisted of 99 third and fourth year prospective mathematics teachers in Kocaeli University, Education Faculty. Document analysis method was selected in this study. Opinion form which was validated in accordance with an expert’s opinions and developed by the researcher, included 8 open-ended questions and was used for document analysis. Prospective teachers were given 25 minutes for filling opinions forms during data collection process. The obtained data were evaluated with content analysis. In conclusion, it was appeared that prospective teachers stated that they would not have difficulties in teaching the subject of ‘Numbers’ but they would have difficulties in teaching the subjects of ‘Algebra’, ‘Geometry’ and ‘ Data and Chance’. The difficulties were stated as in the following; difficulties coming from students, not knowing how to teach the subject and having abstract subjects. The solution strategies were stated as in the following; solving plenty of relevant examples, carrying out activities, using material and modelling/concretization. © 2015 IOJES. This study aimed to examine the relationships between cognitive intelligence, emotional intelligence, and humor styles. The sample of the study consisted of 319 undergraduate students. The humor styles questionnaire, The Revised Schutte Emotional Intelligence, and Raven Standard Progressive Matrices Test Plus were used to obtain the data. The results indicated that emotional intelligence is positively correlated with adaptive humor styles. Cognitive intelligence had no statistically significant relationship with humor styles except affiliative humor style. Additionally, it was found that emotional intelligence predicted both affiliative and self-enhancing humor. The results were discussed in the light of the relationships between humor styles, emotional intelligence, and cognitive intelligence. © 2015 IOJES. The child perceives his environment with his sense organs, cognitive level, and mental capabilities. The process of identifying the computer in conceptual-level by the child is closely linked with his perception of the computer. The purpose of this research is to determine the children’s manners of perceiving the computer in their early childhood period. Research working group consists of 41 students from 58-63 months range who are attending Kindergarten in the Adapazari Province of Sakarya. The data collection tool used for the research was developed by the researcher as a semi-structured interview form and the data have been gathered at certain intervals in four weeks period. The data were analyzed using the qualitative research technique; content analysis. Results of the research indicates; children can differentiate their computers as desktop and laptop computer, define the hardware components in their own levels, and since they use the computers intensively to play games and paint pictures, they believe this is the main purpose of a computer. Besides, the results also indicate that the children participating in the study have high level of positive attitude towards the computers in the affective level. © 2015 IOJES. In that regard we were worked with 31 preservice mathematics teachers. In the research, we concerned about analysing of actual problem posing abilities of preservice teachers. We applied Problem Posing Capabilities Test on preservice teachers. The test consists 10 steps, and on the each step, it’s asked to pose problems according to defined instructions. That test was developed by the researcher and its validity and reliability is verified. The posed problems examined and evaluated according to the scoring table prepared by the researcher. There are seven main criteria in that scoring table; “Mathematical situation”, “Data qualification”, “Grammar and expression strength”, “Compatibility with the level”, “Instructions in the posed problems and data volume” and “Solvability” and “General evaluation” were considered during the analysis of the posed problems by the presevice teachers. According to the result of the research, it is observed that success rate about problem posing abilities of preservice teachers is between 54% 64%. High JP can be observed for teachers as a result of suitable OC and IB. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationships between the OC characterized by support, cohesion, fairness and pressure, JP and IB of teachers. The study sample consisted of 398 primary and secondary school teachers working at the Adana province of Turkey. Three scales related to OC, JP and IB were used to collect data. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) was performed to analyze the effects of OC on IB and JP as well as the effect of IB on JP. According to the findings; OCs characterized by support, fairness and pressure had effects on the JP of teachers. The data was collected from 233 teachers from Vocational and Anatolia High Schools with the survey technique. As measuring tools; “The School Effects Scale on Student Behavior Scale of Content Series” was used. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 17.0 statistical software package. Data was analyzed via frequency, t-test, OneWay ANOVA statistical techniques. The obtained data was investigated under five sub-categories; the effect of the school serials on students, the negative effect of students’ behavior on teachers and administrators, whether there is difference between the opinions of Anatolia and Vocational High School teachers and their work experiences. In general, according to the result of research, both the Vocational and Anatolian High School teachers’ denoted that the serials containing schools, broadcasted a televisions, have negative effect on students’ behaviors. When the data was analyzed according to the school type and work experience of teachers, there were not found differences between the opinions of Vocational and Anatolia High School teacher on questionnaire. © 2015 IOJES.
