In this way, a more reflective teaching process is used, which makes the student protagonist of his / her way of learning and solving problems and, thus, learning objects are proving to be an excellent tool of support in the search of digital resources That promote the student's educational competence. The purpose of this work is to present learning resources of a knowledge platform specifically focused on the teaching of statistics, being a course that naturally presents learning challenges, both in regular education and in distance education. In this way, the teacher can adapt his didactic plan giving direction to the educational skills that he wants the student to acquire. For this, we present a platform of knowledge directed to the teaching of the discipline of statistics, \"Come Learn\" [1]. This platform is an interactive screen with a menu that offers options such as: games, video, activities, lesson, supplementary material, podcasts and extras. The instrument used to obtain such information was the questionnaire with the purpose of validating the \"Come Learn\" application as a method and form of support to the teaching of statistics. Thus, a case study was carried out with 18 students from the Young Apprentice program of Ifes - Campus Barra de São Francisco. Finally, the use of Information Technology (ICT), through the tool presented in this study, can provide the faculty that manages the discipline of statistics to adapt the contents to the various functionalities of the application, in order to fill some \"gaps\" expressed in the Parameters, which highlights the importance of teaching the discipline of Statistics to students' understanding of real-world issues.","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133225639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this way, anyone can consult information of interest, assimilate it and turn it into useful knowledge. However, in recent years this new technological trend has driven users to generate a large amount of personal content, leaving aside any quality index, which translates into a new social problem known as information overload, infoxication or infobesity. The contact with information that is constantly increasing and of which validity has not been proven can cause difficulties, from the assimilation of knowledge to psychological disorders (anguish). The educational field is no stranger to this situation, as students use technology to support their academic processes. This research proposes the development of an experts recommendation tool (individuals who significantly manage a topic of interest) based on Twitter and Mendeley with a semi-supervised approach. In a Web application, keywords related to a topic of interest are entered and extracted from potential Mendeley experts, and then their accounts are located on Twitter. With this information, a user validates whether the Twitter profiles correspond to experts and authorizes the publication of a recommendation to students. With the semi-supervised approach, the accuracy of the recommendations is 100%, so the results obtained are promising.","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115788004","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Considering the new digital culture, there is a need for new learning, creative and ethical practices. Therefore, educators' training needs to be revisited. According to the antiessentialist approach of technology, the teacher is asked to interpret the programming software and use it in class as an instrument in addition to digital literacy. This research started with Scratch training, class observation and interviews and search for the causal mechanism. The goal was to search for indications of reader-user-teacher interpretation. As support tools, MOODLE platform is used to host the virtual classroom of the subject and also a YouTube channel. We work with students enrolled in the subject Numerical Methods, who as a result of the experience perceive they have contributed to deepen the topics developed, the motivation has been increased and they have been given the opportunity to develop their creativity and capacity for expression. Within the results obtained, it was evident that the integration of these strategies improved learning results of the students and contributed to the development of the proposed competences. It was concluded that it's necessary to continue investigating other strategies and tools that can be used to improve the educational process.","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128817003","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
