As learning takes place in heterogeneous and complex online environments, the incorporation of contextual information about the student has attracted major interest. For some time, most methods of student modelling have considered interactions as a key dimension of the student's social context, but only recently, automatic extraction software agents begin to tackle interactions in a non-exclusively quantitative way. In this paper, we propose the discovery of sentiments in online social interactions as an additional property for the modeling of students in order to produce a contextualized diagnosis when performing learning analytics. We propose answers to the questions of \"Which are the sentiments in students context modeling?\", \"Why are they important for social learning analytics?\", \"How can we visualize them?\"","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115167456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To carry it out, first, it defined a methodology for the search and selection of the papers to be included in this study. Then, the bibliographic databases Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar for the implementation of the methodology were used. Next, based on the selected documents, three strategies for the search of learning objects were characterized, such as classic by keywords, full-text search, and hybrids. In this sense, hybrid solutions that use multiple integrated strategies have been gaining importance. Finally, it was verified that the methodology used to determine the papers of the review was adequate and allowed an approach to the state of the art in this topic.","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125514464","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to try to reverse this scenario, several countries are working on a way to include computer science concepts, like computational thinking, in their curriculums for K-12 education. In addition, many studies and researches are being done related to practices and tools that can be applied in order to retain students that applied for computer science courses. In order to contribute to these initiatives, this paper presents CODEX, an interactive and ludic learning object, that aims to help students that do not need to have a background in programming to learn one of the most important structure in a programming language, the loop. CODEX was designed to be used both in class and in extra-class activity.","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134114123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Studies indicate that the identification of the personality of an individual can help in the treatment of these disorders. This identification is often performed with the help of affective lexicons. The main objective of this work is to initiate a study to create a tool capable of identifying the personality of students in virtual learning environments with the help of an affective lexicon in Brazilian Portuguese. For this purpose, it is intended, initially, to perform the inference of personality from the texts of users of a Brazilian social network. The results achieved are considered relevant and promising.","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"100 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132431345","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
