Therefore, they need to show perseverance in developing new ideas, which can be considered a part of grit. This study aimed to examine the relationship between grit and innovative work behavior among members of student organizations. Participants were members of student organizations at a private university in Surabaya. The scales used in the study were the 12-Item Grit Scale and the Innovative Work Behavior Scale. The result showed that grit had a significant positive relationship with innovative work behavior. Perseverance of effort as a dimension of grit was a significant predictor of innovative work behavior. This means that the more persistent the organization members are, the more frequently they generate, promote, and implement innovations in the organization.","PeriodicalId":31993,"journal":{"name":"Psikodimensia Kajian Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78439996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study used a case study method with the subject of a 24-year-old man with Asperger Syndrome. Subject had difficulty managing various intense emotions, including anger, sadness, and anxiety. Subject also showed significant symptoms of depression, anxiety, and distress. Researchers used integrated centering and empty chair techniques. Centering was held as many as 4 sessions and empty chair as many as 2 sessions within a period of 6 weeks (1 session per week). Quantitatively, the subject' depression, anxiety, and distress scores decreased. Based on feedback from the subject, centering helped him regulate his emotions and increase acceptance of the current condition. Empty chairs could help the subject express emotions and perform conflict resolution more adaptively. These results show that the centering and empty chair techniques are effective in improving emotional regulation abilities in subject with Asperger Syndrome.","PeriodicalId":31993,"journal":{"name":"Psikodimensia Kajian Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"54 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90735532","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was conducted on three students from Flores who live in one of the Islamic boarding schools in Yogyakarta. Subjects were taken using purposive sampling technique. A qualitative phenomenological approach is used to describe the personal experiences of students who experience what they are and are natural. The findings of this study describe the various stages that have been passed by students from Flores in order to become njawani individuals. These stages start from (1) inculcating Javanese values, rules, cultural norms such as uploading-ungguh by the kiai to the santri with the process of modeling and imitation; (2) a summary of values formulating a belief (belief); (3) belief that forms an attitude (attitude); (4) the attitudes shown will become a character; and (5) character will give birth to personality. The njawani personality is the final result of the accumulation of various processes of internalizing Javanese culture and language that have been experienced by students from Flores. The forms of njawani personality that were found were manifestations of a 'rasa' which became the benchmark of Javanese behavior, namely rasaake, rumangsa, nriman/narima, wedi, isin and sungkan.","PeriodicalId":31993,"journal":{"name":"Psikodimensia Kajian Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"393 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76982133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For these people, they are referred as employees who are having multiple careers. However, there is not yet a study focussing on these people. Thus, the aim of this current study is to illustrate work-life balance of employees who have multiple careers and working remotely. This research adopts a qualitative approach involving four informants and using thematic analysis. One interesting result shows that married employees with multiple careers are better in balancing in work and life than those who are not. In sum, all participants feel happy about their daily job because of the support system.","PeriodicalId":31993,"journal":{"name":"Psikodimensia Kajian Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77833436","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There is an alternative recommendation for psychosocial support regarding the students’ issues in the research. The method used is a mixed-method with a sequential explanatory approach. The main subject of research includes 66 high school students in Bandung. Quantitative data analysis was obtained using a descriptive method and qualitative data was analyzed using a narrative method. As a result, some students got depressed and experienced different levels during the pandemic. The system applied in school only reached several stakeholders. They did not implement the students’ mental health maintenance in every grade level. Therefore, we recommend developing a psychological support management system guideline to maintain students’ mental health. An implication of the research has been explained further in the discussion.","PeriodicalId":31993,"journal":{"name":"Psikodimensia Kajian Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76466207","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Parents play an important role in emotion socialization, including in developing their child’s emotion regulation. Parental emotional style can affect children’s learning process to regulate their emotions. Father and mother may use different emotional styles. As such, children may encounter difficulties in learning to regulate their emotions. The purpose of this study is to look at the emotion regulation of children aged 4-6 years, based on the father and mother’s emotional style. This study employed a comparative quantitative approach involved 156 participants. Data were collected online by distributing the Parental Emotional Style (PESQ) and Emotion Regulation Checklist (ERC). Analysis using Two-Way ANOVA show that there was no difference in the emotion regulation of children aged 4-6 years based on the father and mother’s emotional style. The result was important as it might reflect the way emotion socialization conducted in Indonesia. The discussion explored these possibilities and shed lights for future research on this topic.","PeriodicalId":31993,"journal":{"name":"Psikodimensia Kajian Ilmiah Psikologi","volume":"23 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91362565","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
