Therefore, knowledge is not limited to a geographical area and instrumental in offering options for information sharing, archiving , and retrieving. Thus, governments have to prioritize ICT education by supporting schools with materials for teaching and learning. The study aimed to document resources and materials available for teaching and learning of ICT in Atwima Nwabiagya D istrict in Ghana . The study adopted case study design and a mixed method of data collection. In all, a total of 512 were recruited to be part of the study. The study found that the government of Ghana has failed to support schools with the needed resources for teaching and learning of ICT. Schools lack ICT labs, internet connection , and other resources needed to make teaching a success. The current resources available in schools will not make it possible for the country to achieve its objective with making ICT education possible for all children in basic schools in Ghana. Therefore, it is high time the government put in much resource in effort to make this policy a reality. RESUME : “Upaya Pengimplementasian Kebijakan TIK (Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi) di Sekolah-sekolah Dasar di Ghana: Sebuah Penilaian terhadap Ketersediaan Fasilitas dan Sumber Daya untuk Keberhasilan Pendidikan TIK di Kabupaten Atwima Nwabiagya di Daerah Ashanti”. TIK memiliki potensi untuk membuat sumber daya pendidikan dapat diakses sepenuhnya. Karena itu, pengetahuan tidak terbatas pada wilayah geografis dan secara instrumental menawarkan pilihan untuk berbagi, mengarsipkan, dan mengunduh informasi. Jadi, pemerintah harus memprioritaskan pendidikan TIK dengan mendukung sekolah menyediakan bahan-bahan untuk mengajar dan belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendokumentasikan sumber daya dan bahan yang tersedia untuk mengajar dan belajar TIK di Kabupaten Atwima Nwabiagya di Ghana. Studi ini mengadopsi desain studi kasus dan metode campuran dalam pengumpulan data. Semuanya, sebanyak 512 orang direkrut untuk menjadi bagian dari penelitian ini. Studi menunjukan bahwa pemerintah Ghana gagal dalam mendukung sekolah dengan sumber daya yang dibutuhkan untuk mengajar dan belajar TIK. Sekolah kekurangan laboratorium TIK, koneksi internet, dan sumber daya lainnya yang dibutuhkan untuk membuat pengajaran sukses. Ketersediaan sumber daya saat ini di sekolah tidak memungkinkan bagi negara mencapai tujuannya untuk menjadikan pendidikan TIK memungkinkan bagi semua anak di sekolah-sekolah dasar di Ghana. This research use d qualitative approach to analyze the compliment responses performed by the lecturers. The compliment responses we re analyzed based on Robert K. Herbert ( 1986) ’s theory . It was shown that the responses given are various. The lecturers are most likely to accept compliments by appreciation token, both in verbal and non-verbal responses. Moreover, most of the responses are combination of two or more types of CRs . In relation to gender, male and female participants give similar responses , yet male tend to use question preceding or following the responses, while female tend to use comment avoidance. Regarding the L2 (Second Language) competence , this study found out that the lecturers still retain their L1 (First Language) culture in appreciating a compliment, regardless their competence in English, both linguistically and culturally. In conclusion , the variety of compliment responses given by lecturers of E nglish at the English Department UNIBRAW might be caused by their habit of expressing t h ems e lves freely without too stric t ly bound to the norm in which they a re related. Studi ini menganalisis respon pujian yang dilakukan oleh dosen Indonesia pengajar Bahasa Inggris di Program Studi Sastra Inggris UNIBRAW ( Universitas Brawijaya) di Kota Malang, Jawa Timur, Indonesia, saat berinteraksi dengan rekan-rekan mereka di tempat kerja. Pemilihan responden didasarkan atas perbedaan jenis kelamin. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk menganalisis tanggapan pujian yang diberikan oleh para dosen. Respon pujian dianalisis berdasarkan teori Robert K. Herbert (1986). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa respon yang diberikan itu beragam. Para dosen cenderung menerima pujian dengan menggunakan tipe “ appreciation token ” (bentuk apresiasi) , baik dalam respon verbal maupun non-verbal. Selain itu, sebagian besar respon pujian merupakan  kombinasi dari dua tipe respon pujian atau lebih. Penelitian ini melibatkan pemangku adat di Kabupaten Sinjai sebanyak 10 orang, tokoh agama sebanyak 5 orang, dan pemerintah setempat sebanyak 3 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara , dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa persepsi masyarakat tentang perjodohan menurut perspektif ajaran Islam dan budaya lokal di Kabupaten Sinjai didasari oleh budaya kekerabatan, yakni “ asseajingeng ” . Dalam perjodohan “ asseajingeng ” pada masyarakat Sinjai tersebut masih dapat dibedakan dalam beberapa istilah , antara lain “ rappe ” dan “ siteppang ” atau “ sompung-lolo ” . Aturan dan syarat penentuan jodoh di kalangan masyarakat Kabupaten Sinjai tidaklah mudah , karena dilakukan atas dasar adat - istiadat, terutama di kalangan bangsawan. Bentuk asimilasi antara ajaran Islam dan budaya lokal tentang perjodohan dalam perkawinan di Kabupaten Sinjai adalah sebagai asimilasi kultural dan spiritual , karena ditemukannya perpaduan antara budaya lokal dengan budaya yang berkembang sekarang, yang di dalamnya mengandung nilai-nilai ajaran agama Islam yang sakral. ABSTRACT : “Matchmaking Procession of a Marriage : Perspective s of Islamic Teachings and Local Culture in District of Sinjai”. This paper aims to put forward the public perception about matchmaking based on the perspective s of Islamic teachings and local culture, find the rules and requirements to determine a right spouse, and describe the assimilation form between Islam and local culture of matchmaking in marriage process in District of Sinjai , South Sulawesi . This research involved ten traditional stakeholders in Sinjai, five religious figures, and three local authorities. Observation, interviews , and documentation were used to gather data. The results showed that the public perception of matchmaking in Sinjai is based on cultural kinship, namely “ asseajingeng ” . Several different terms were found to describe matchmaking “ asseajingeng ” in Sinjai society , such as “r appe ” and “ siteppang ” or “ sompung-lolo ” . Rules and requirements to determine a right spouse among people Sinjai is not easy , because it is done on the basis of customs, especially among the noble family. Form of assimilation between Islam and local culture of matchmaking marriage in District of Sinjai is a spiritual and cultural assimilation since the discovery of a blend of local culture with a culture that is now developing, in which it contains the sacred Islamic religious values. Penelitian menggunakan metode yang cukup populer, yaitu dengan metode “ex post facto”. Dengan menggunakan teknik korelasional diperoleh temuan, sebagai berikut: (1) terdapat hubungan yang positif antara kebugaran jasmani dengan prestasi belajar mata kuliah Bulutangkis pada mahasiswa PGSD Penjas UPI Kampus Sumedang; (2) terdapat hubungan yang positif antara motivasi belajar dengan prestasi belajar mata kuliah Bulutangkis pada m ahasiswa PGSD Penjas UPI K ampus Sumedang ; serta (3) terdapat pula hubungan yang positif antara kebugaran jasmani dan motivasi belajar secara bersama-sama dengan prestasi belajar mata kuliah Bulutangkis pada m ahasiswa PGSD Penjas UPI K ampus Sumedang . Selanjutnya, kebugaran jasmani dan motivasi belajar dapat memberikan kontribusi secara bersama-sama sebesar 28.09% terhadap peningkatan prestasi belajar mata kuliah Bulutangkis pada mahasiswa PGSD Penjas UPI Kampus Sumedang. Sehubungan dengan hal tersebut, untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar mahasiswa perlu adanya pembinaan kondisi fisik yang terencana dan teratur untuk membangun kebugaran dan meningkatkan motivasi belajar, sehingga pada akhirnya akan mendukung pada pencapaian prestasi belajar mahasiswa. The research uses a method that is quite popular namely “ ex post facto ” . Ia merupakan tempoh pentadbiran Tun Abdul Razak. Kaedah kajian yang digunakan adalah berdasarkan penelitian terhadap sumber-sumber yang diperolehi di Perpustakaan dan Arkib Negara Malaysia. Dalam tempoh lebih satu dekad selepas tahun 1945, tidak terdapat hubungan bilateral secara rasmi antara Jepun dan Persekutuan Tanah Melayu , kerana Tanah Melayu di bawah pendudukan British semula. Hubungan bilateral secara rasmi antara Persekutuan Tanah Melayu d eng an Jepun hanya bermula apabila Kishi Nobosuke melawat Persekutuan Tanah Melayu pada tarikh 24 dan 25 November 1957. Hubungan ekonomi Malaysia dan Jepun diteruskan semasa zaman pentadbiran Tun Abdul Razak, apabila Bantuan Pembangunan Rasmi atau ODA ( Official Development Assistance ) Jepun disalurkan ke Malaysia bagi membiayai sebahagian besar projek pembangunan negara. Pemikiran “ Pandang k e Timur ” dilihat tidak mungkin lenyap selepas Perang Dunia II (1939-1945) sehingga tempoh pentadbiran Tun Hussein Onn, suatu jarak masa panjang selama 34 tahun. Semasa Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad meneruskan kesinambungan pemikiran “ Pandang k e Timur ”, yang membawa kepada pembentukan “ Dasar Pandang k e Timur ” , pelaburan Jepun di negara ini telahpun berkembang pesat dengan Jepun muncul sebagai rakan dagang utama Malaysia. ABSTRACT: “ The History of the Look to the East’s Idea during the Era of Tun Abdul Razak ”. This study analyzes the history of the “ Look t o t he East ” idea in Malaysia between 1970 to 1976. It is the period of Tun Abdul Razak administration. The method used in this study is based on the method of observation of the resources available at the L ibrary and the National Archives of Malaysia. Over a decade after 1945, there were no official bilateral relations between Japan and the Federation of Malaya , due to Malaya under British occupation again. Official bilateral relation between the Federation of Malaya and Japan only starts when Kishi Nobosuke visit the Federation of Malaya on 24 and 25 November 1957. Malaysia and Japan economic relations continued during the administration of Tun Abdul Razak , when Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) channeled to Malaysia to finance the bulk of the country's development projects. The “ Look t o t he East ” idea seen unlikely to fade after the Second World War (1939-1945) until the period of Tun Hussein Onn administration, a long time period for 34 years. It examines the scale and patterns, as well as the issues and concerns of Filipino spouses/partners of foreign nationals. The study argues that marriage migration is undeniably important in the migration of Filipinos. Official records show that the number of Filipino marriage migrants has increased more than two-fold from 1989 up to 2012.This paper also claims that while there are successful couples in intermarriages, they have experienced a myriad of issues and concerns , among others : irregularities in the requisites of marriage; multiple/serial sponsorship; domestic violence; mail-order bride scheme and marriage brokers; laws and immigration policies of some countries; new culture and language; and social construction of Filipino women. In order to address the aforementioned concerns, the Philippine government and other groups recognize the need to address the issues and concerns of Filipinos marriage migrants. Among the activities and programs for marriage migrants are the mandatory counseling program before departure, provision of list of support network and client feedback, conduct of community education program, establishment of cooperative partnership , and conduct of study visit abroad and passage of relevant national laws. This study notes that the various initiatives to address the concerns of those in intermarriages are laudable. Studi ini menyatakan bahwa migrasi pernikahan merupakan hal sangat penting dalam migrasi bangsa Filipina. Catatan resmi menunjukan bahwa jumlah migra si perkawinan bangsa Filipina telah meningkat lebih dari dua kali lipat dari tahun 1989 sampai dengan tahun 2012. Makalah ini juga men emukan bahwa sementara ada pasangan yang sukses d alam perkawinan antarabangsa, ada juga mereka yang mengalami segudang masalah dan ke prihatinan, antara lain : penyimpangan dalam syarat perkawinan; beberapa/ seri sponsor; kekerasan dalam rumah tangga; pengantin pesanan dan pernikahan perantara ; hokum dan kebijakan imigrasi beberapa negara; bahasa dan budaya baru; serta konstruksi social perempuan Filipina. The participants were 203 employees (99 males, 104 females , age average 28.75 years old , and standard deviation of the age 5.917 years), taken using purposive sampling technique. The measurement scales of this study were adapted and developed from Social Comparison Scale and Shame Proneness Scale. As many as 60 individuals participated in the measurement instrument’s validity and reliability testing phase. Research design of this study is predictive correlational with simple linear regression as the statistical technique of data analysis. This study found that social comparison can predict Negative Self-Evaluation and Withdrawal Action Tendency, as the dimensions of shame, in negative ways. There are at least two theoretical contributions of this research to the literature of psychology of corruption. First, self-evaluation as a result of the general social comparison , which initially has no moral weight , can have serious implications on one’s morality, especially through the negative self-evaluation dimension of shame moral emotion. Second, this study provides scientific support to the everyday wisdom suggesting that we should not compare ourselves with others so as not to fall into immorality tendencies, including corruption. RESUME: “Perbandingan Sosial sebagai Prediktor Dimensi-dimensi Kecenderungan Rasa Malu”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran perbandingan sosial dalam memprediksikan dua dimensi dari sebuah emosi moral , yakni rasa malu , pada pegawai swasta di DKI (Daerah Khusus Ibukota) Jakarta, ibukota Indonesia. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah 203 orang karyawan swasta (99 laki-laki, 104 perempuan , rata-rata usia 28.75 tahun , dan simpangan baku usia 5.917 tahun), diambil dengan teknik penyampelan purposif. Alat ukur penelitian ini diadaptasi dan dikembangkan dari Skala Perbandingan Sosial dan Skala Kerentanan/Kecenderungan Rasa Malu. Sebanyak 60 individu berpartisipasi dalam fase uji validitas dan reliabilitas alat ukur. Desain penelitian ini adalah korelasional prediktif dengan teknik analisis data berupa regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa perbandingan sosial mampu memprediksi Evaluasi Diri Negatif dan Tendensi Mengundurkan/Menarik Diri, sebagai dimensi-dimensi rasa malu, dalam arah negatif. Desain penelitian adalah pendekatan kualitatif studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian: cara dimana guru adalah memberikan pembiasaan dan teladan; metode pembelajaran yang digunakan di TK adalah metode tanya-jawab, percakapan, cerita, dan sosi o -drama; kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh guru karena lingkungan anak berbeda, sehingga solusinya dilakukan dengan memahami karakteristik peserta didik; dan cara yang paling efektif untuk menanamkan pendidikan karakter adalah melalui perilaku pembiasaan yang baik dalam tindakan sehari-hari, serta contoh - contoh yang baik dari pendidik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disajikan saran-saran berikut: bekerjasama dengan orang tua melalui komunikasi dengan orang tua serta melalui kunjungan - rumah; menanamkan pendidikan karakter kepada siswa dengan membiasakan salam kepada anak, mencium tangan guru pada saat sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan, berbagi dan membantu, kebiasaan mencuci tangan, dan berdoa sebelum dan sesudah makan; mengikuti upacara bendera setiap hari Senin dan hari-hari Hari Nasional di Indonesia; dan dibiasakan mengucapkan terima kasih ketika mendapatkan sesuatu dan selalu bersedia untuk memberi dan meminta maaf saat melakukan kesalahan. ABSTRACT: “Implementation of Character Education in Kindergarten: A Case Study in Kindergarten of Kemala Bhayangkari 97 Gasum , Pusdik Porong , East Java, Indonesia”. T he research is to find out implementation of character education in kindergarten. The design of this study is a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected by interview, observation , and documentation. Research results: t he way in which the teacher is to habituation and exemplary; learning methods used in kindergarten are the question-and-answer method, a conversation, storytelling, and socio-drama; the difficulties faced by teachers because of the child's environment is different , so that t he solution is done by understanding the characteristics of learners; and the most effective way to instill character education is through habituation behavior both in everyday actions, as well as examples of good examples of educators.
