The findings of this study show that the MLU for all three children increased when scripted play was used. He knows what to do before, during and after the test. The study under report aimed at exploring students' strategies for taking classroom tests. A set of structured questionnaire was distributed to thirty-six students of an English Department in Surabaya Indonesia. Likert scales were used to measure the students' test-taking strategies. The students' responses were then analyzed to know how well the students used test-taking strategies. Therefore, wayang kulit has been a site of power game. Those who could control it have their best opportunity to pass their values to the public. Throughout its history, those in power since the colonial time until the New Order regime had successfully 'used' this medium to 'educate' the public. The New Order regime, for one thing, had used this medium well. Wayang kulit promoted Suharto as an equal of Semar, a wise, god-like character. It also promoted Golkar as the most powerful political party in the New Order Era. However, women did not always accept the marginalization without reserve.
