The aim of this study is to delve into the true efficacy of gamification in the recruitment process, specifically within a leading railway transportation company that can have many lessons to tourism industry. To address the core concern of this research, we adopted an innovative case study research strategy called “Outcome Explain Process Tracing”. This approach allowed to gather various types of data, combining insights from a thorough literature review to establish theoretical clues, alongside data from passenger surveys, interviews with managers and crews, and relevant organizational archives and documents to provide practical evidence. The results of this study demonstrate that gamified recruitment, from the perspective of key stakeholders in the process (Passengers, Managers, and Crews), has been exceptionally effective in generating a competitive advantage. The findings of this study are expected to offer substantial insights into the tourism industry, empowering it to make informed decisions when redesigning their HR (human resources) processes. The investigation’s results suggest that incorporating an element of fun in HR processes can remarkably improve HRrelated Key Performance Indicators. This study makes a significant contribution to the gamification literature by investigating its effectiveness within the realm of HR practices in the tourism industry.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140985385","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the significant approaches that emerge in response to these challenges is the circular economy. This paper offers an analysis in compedium of this paradigm and how companies can adopt practices and strategies derived from the principles of the circular economy, to maximize their resilience and performance in the face of challenges. Additionally, trends that can influence the evolution of circularity are examined. This study draw attention to the fact that enterprises are the driving force of the economy, so engaging entrepreneurship is a sine qua non condition for the transition to a circular economy. The circular economy, in essence, can be viewed as a modus vivendi for business sustainability and the achievement of sustainable development goals.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"118 27","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140985626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper analyses the process through which individuals construct their selfidentities and what is the role of socialisation in acquiring the culture, building social identities and gaining social status. At the same time, the paper presents some of the problems faced by the agents of socialisation in helping new members of society acquire a self-identity, define themselves and occupy social positions within the social structure. Not understanding the relationship between selfidentity, status and culture, and how status is “created”, can determine individuals to adopt maladaptive behaviours or adhere to harmful ideas, with destabilising potential both for society and for their own social identity and position in the groups they belong to.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"11 6","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140982347","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The relationship between trust and the success of businesses is undeniable. However, trust is constantly threatened due to various socio-economic phenomena such as inequality, polarization, financial crises, and pandemics, further eroding confidence. As the world undergoes rapid changes, building and maintaining trust within the business sector has become one of the most challenging endeavors. In this dynamic business environment, businesses must develop and maintain trust by demonstrating transparency and fostering open communication. This research seeks to comprehensively examine the intricate interplay among trust, culture, money, and business systems to gain a macro-social perspective on the pivotal role of trust within a nation's culture, ultimately contributing valuable insights to the field of business studies. By delving into the complex dynamics between these elements, it aims to provide a deeper understanding of how trust influences and shapes the economic and cultural fabric of societies. The paper assesses that a significant level of trust within countries and/or between companies could foster social cohesion, increase collaboration, and contribute to overall prosperity. The paper emphasizes the impact of trust and its representation in money, crucial for effective economic transactions and a favorable business climate, while the ethical and transparent business system plays a pivotal role in fostering trust and ultimately building resilient economies that benefit individuals and communities. As socio-economic landscapes continue to evolve, businesses must embrace trust-building as a core strategy to thrive in an increasingly competitive and uncertain world.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"10 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140985254","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study examines the synergies between situation analysis, day-to-day management and risk prevention and control, and assesses their combined impact on corporate performance by analysing Deutsche Börse Group's operating data from 2008 to 2022. The study finds that through the combination of situation analysis and daily management, the enterprise can more accurately capture market movements and effectively adjust management strategies to optimise resource allocation and enhance decision-making quality. Meanwhile, the integration of risk prevention and control strategies into daily management not only enhances the firm's ability to cope with external uncertainties, but also significantly improves operational agility and robustness. The trinity management framework proposed in this paper not only helps enterprises to transcend the limitations of traditional crisis management, but also provides new perspectives and strategies for maintaining competitiveness in a changing market.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"47 18","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140983977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
