Therefore, innovation processes should be constantly monitored and quantified, like any other aspect of an organization’s performance. A 2010 survey reveals that only 22% of top managers have implemented innovation-performance measurement indicators in their organizations. This indicates that most of the global innovation phenomenon is still waiting to be measured, evaluated and streamlined, by virtue of fundamental benefits such as: efficient allocation of resources, focus of innovative efforts and maximizing value in the company. The Composite Innovation Index is a tool proposed for the market or industry-wide measurement of innovation and is based on 6 main determinants of innovation, named “dimensions” of innovation. Data for the computation of the index is surveyed by the questionnaire or interview methods. After having designed a questionnaire addressed to management employees of the banking industry in Romania, the Composite Innovation Index obtained thereby reveals a somewhat below-average level of proactivity of the banks in Romania in the phenomenon of innovation.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116193816","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To this way of life is added the pandemic that has strongly affected the lives of all of us and has restricted, more or less, our free movement and freedom to be tourists. From the establishment of social platforms until recently, the focus has been on the individual and less on products, services or cities. Currently, a company or city does not exist if it is not found by users of social platforms within the applications. A city becomes attractive from a tourist point of view if it has \"Instagramable\" places. These places can be defined as areas inside the city that have certain characteristics that attract the tourist and make him take photos and upload those pictures on social networks. These areas are called \"Instagram spots\" and represent a new type of city way of marketing. We can see, in specialized practice, cities that did not exist a few years ago, but due to the increase in the number of users on Instagram, the increase in the number of photo posts in that city and a much larger activity due to the pandemic, they have become real tourist attractions. Through this paper we wanted to highlight this concept of \"Instagram spots\" and the importance it has in achieving the brand of a city. For this we will conduct a research based on a questionnaire applied to a number of 370 people active on social networks, but also an analysis of things that can be done using Instagram and we will try to establish a link between social networking users and the attractiveness of a Town. We will also try to determine the impact that these \"Instagram spots\" have on the cities where they exist and we will try to establish a link between the total number of these places, the number of tourists and the brand of the city.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126842520","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

New technologies generate extremely many challenges to society, organizations, the business world and individuals taken separately in conditions where the rate of change is increasingly rapid and the complexity of the technological environment is increasing in recent decades during which a transition has taken place from a world characterized by industrial technology to one dominated by information technology and biotechnology. The objective of the research is to highlight a number of potential theoretical and methodological problems that make it extremely difficult to assess from an ethical perspective new emerging technology with the intention of helping to find answers to a number of fundamental questions, such as: How can we morally assess the development of technologies when they have an open horizon and involve uncertainty and lack of control? This article examines the key aspects of the literature on public service motivation and performance of the public sector. Research on this subject shows that public service motivation has a great impact on individual and organizational performance. The literature provides a lot of examples in which the quality of human resources management influences organizational performance. The key aspects of the literature on public service motivation are referring to: political motivation, public interest and social responsibility, civic duty, social justice,, social compassion, and self-sacrifice (Hammerschmid et al., 2009). The aim of the article is to examine the factors that influence civil servants' performance. This article analyses differences between intrinsic and extrinsic incentives to suggest management implications directed to support motivation and performance of employees in public organizations.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"254 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121437501","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, we analyse several communicational elements that influence the implementation of a change, from the perspective of their interdependence. The data were collected through an online questionnaire and statistically evaluated. The quantitative analysis was based on the responses to questionnaire from 258 organizations in both public and private sectors. We hypothesized that a successful change is reliant on some particular factors specific to the communication process. The analysis revealed that a personalized, demanding-focused communication is a determining factor for the success of any change. Materialized through the proper channel, this approach can determine the active and long-lasting involvement of team members in change implementation and goal-achievement processes. Our actual research is limited in scale and scope, but its results are important for practitioners that intend to realize organizational changes, emphasizing the communication elements that they should focus on. Also, our study might be a support for future researches that focus on the impact that communication have on knowledge management processes during the organizational change initiatives.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127911753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These involve the organization of educational structures, the promotion of school autonomy with all its advantages, together with the positive effects arising from these actions of major importance, which work together to ensure access conditions and school success- a fundamental objective of educational management, from the whole system to the school level. The general managerial objectives at the level of both global and local educational system, of the school itself, correlate, one by one, with the new orientations and realities appropriate to a democratic and open society, with the directions of the education reform. They are organically linked to the value system and express the perspective of the development of education, values that ensure socio-human progress. The objectives of the paper are the analysis of educational management and its impact on schools and the identification of appropriate managerial procedures in order to increase educational performance. The research include the ways in which the quality of the managerial act contribute to improving the satisfaction of the direct beneficiaries of the instructive-educational process, regarding the acquisition of new skills. Environmental projects from each country were selected and based on the available documentation the main components of their management were analyzed. The analysis seems to indicate a relatively frequent use of classical methods of programming project execution without identifying the use of modern methods neither in the case of environmental projects in Romania, nor in the case of those in Iceland. In terms of cost management, budgeting is more frequently used and in terms of risk management, risk identification is more common in Romania and in the case of Iceland the other components of the risk management process.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133483969","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The teams had to adapt and to become 100% virtual in a really short period of time in order to ensure the continuity of the activities for the businesses. Team leaders suddenly became team leaders of virtual teams; thus, this had implied the shift from team leadership to virtual team leadership. The effectiveness of virtual team leaders remains a desideratum for companies, taking into account that now team leaders work in a unique context given by the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The purpose of this research is to analyse the way of working of a 100% virtual team, from a Shared Service Centre located in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, for the time frame March 2020 – March 2021. The case study was performed based on quantitative and qualitative empirical research; the primary data being collected from the targeted virtual team. Firstly, the focus is on presenting the organizational context based on the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic and secondly, the decisions taken by the management during this period in order to maintain the 100% virtual team performance are analysed. Several aspects at the analysed team level are identified, based on the perception of its team members, such as the level of connection, the sense of belonging to the team, engagement, cohesion, team coordination level, individual productivity in the MWFH environment and last, but not least, the team productivity level in the pandemic period versus the period before the COVID-19 pandemic. The main conclusions of this case study are reflecting that the level of individual productivity and also the level of the team productivity have remained at a constant level, which is indicating that the effectiveness of team leadership has been maintained at a high level. However, some of the analysed aspects such as, level of connection, team cohesion and the sense of belonging to the team, were negatively influenced by the virtual way of working despite the management decisions taken in order to support the virtual team environment.","PeriodicalId":296892,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Management Conference","volume":"8 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129353379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
