Our results showed that at severe and slight acidity level, the moderate soil condition was most beneficial to the growth of masson pine, followed by the well soil condition. At moderate acidity level, the worse soil condition was more unfavorable to the growth of masson pine. The multi-year monthly average NDVI showed neither significant difference between poor and moderate soil condition nor between moderate and well soil condition, while the significant difference of the NDVI value between poor and well soil condition in the whole year except in summer.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115398874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many SIAS focus on the issues of distributed spatial data integration and sharing in a web-based environment. However, in geological applications, compared with data sharing, data management matters. To support the practical demands in geological data applications, a prototype for distributed geological spatial data integrated management is designed and implemented. This system integrates heterogeneous spatial data from distributed environment, adopts metadata management techniques to maintain and retrieve data, and utilizes several data processing components to extend the system's ability to manage data. Besides, security issues are considered when delivering data in the prototype. Finally, a practical case is given to illustrate the proposed prototype's effectiveness for data management in geological applications.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131456538","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we select the catchment area located in Kunming Dongfeng East Road as study area to construct the urban waterlogging simulation model based on GIS and SWMM model. The procedure of model building contains sub-basin division, drainage system generalization, and parameter settings. Then different urbanization degrees and different rainfall return period settings will be tested on the constructed model. The results show that the model can be used for dynamically simulating urban waterlogging. Both runoff volume and peak flow increased significantly with increasing return period. In addition, with the development of urbanization, urban impervious area increased rapidly, but decreased in rainfall infiltration, while the risk of floods increased. This impact was more obvious in the short return period rainfall conditions.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126938354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using classical algorithms of vector data compression, such as the Douglas-Peucker algorithm, to simplify the natural shoreline into direction-line, ignores the special requirements of a guarantee of national marine interests. To solve this problem, this paper proposed an improved Douglas-Peucker algorithm. Firstly choose the convex points of the natural shoreline as an alternative set of points; then filter segment points from convex points based on angle and distance; finally, divide the data into several parts in order to perform the Douglas-Peucker algorithm, and control the threshold of every part to effectively select feature points and protect national maritime interests. This paper uses ArcGIS 10.0, Visual Studio platform, and C# language to carry out the algorithm design, and choose a local coastline of Jiangsu province to conduct experiment. The results show that, compared with the Douglas-Peucker algorithm, the improved Douglas-Peucker algorithm improves the area ratio by 0.19%(0.17%-0.20%), and compression rate of coordinate points by 13.22% (9.48%-16.95%), and the accuracy of curve simplification also improved.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126521139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of the scarcity of solar radiation observation stations, climatologic calculation methods and interpolation techniques are commonly adopted to derive the monthly global solar radiation and generate the regional distribution map. In this paper, the Angstrom-Prescott linear regression formula is applied to calculate monthly average solar radiation. A case study of Shanghai is also designed and carried out. With the observation data of global solar radiation and sunshine-hours from one observation station, the Angstrom-Prescott linear regression formula is trained to determine all necessary parameters, by which the monthly average solar radiation data of the other six weather stations with only sunshine-hour observation data can be derived. Several distribution maps of the global solar radiation in Shanghai are then generated using interpolation models in GIS, based on which spatial and temporal variation pattern of the monthly global solar radiation is discussed.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"122 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128139123","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Marine oil pollution in the coastal ship oil spill accidents not only bring huge economic losses, but also directly destroy the marine ecological environment [5]. For sudden marine oil spill pollution events, simulating the path of the oil spill in order to understand the oil spill has become a problem that is urgently needed to be solved. At present, our country has not established a comparatively perfect, strong operability of oil spill emergency monitoring platform. For a major oil spill accident handling, the country appears to lag behind the response of other countries. Thus establishing an efficient, real-time monitoring of marine oil spill emergency platform is particularly important. In view of marine oil spill accidents, this paper establishes the analysis of the oil spill monitoring platform architecture with the .NET platform structure, and creates the oil spill monitoring analysis module based on GIS using C# combined with the ArcGIS Engine secondary development kit. This paper has solved the probability and statistics of oil spill monitoring, automatic oil spill thematic map output, automatic oil spill statistics generated key technologies, such as to provide research model for marine oil spill surveillance, as well as the oil spill emergency response simulation that offerstechnical support of spatial analysis and expression.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"93 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126214795","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

GPS trajectories on crowdsourcing websites are less widely used in researches but actually have great potential for various applications. Thus, this paper makes a comprehensive study on GPS trajectories on VGI websites and social websites. The volume, growth rate, and categories of the data are analyzed, the accuracy and integrity are identified, and additional attributes of trajectories are also discussed. Statistical results indicate that the accuracy and integrity of the data is within acceptable limits. We also conclude that this data is suitable for travel-related studies, while may not for time-related researches. Further studies and sample surveys are needed to confirm if it's suitable for road information extraction. Several problems that exist in current researches on map symbols were analyzed: focusing on the visual graphics but paying little attention to the semantics, constructing the structure model of map symbols without unifying the concepts and visual graphics, and not fully investigating the relationship among different symbols. A concept of Symbol-morpheme was put forward which was the minimum graphic-concept unit in the map symbol structure, and was the bridge which connected the visual graphics and geographical semantics of map symbols. A map symbols description model was constructed which centered on the Symbol-morpheme and considered the visual graphics and concepts comprehensively. This model linked the cognitive structure of map symbols with the human's cognitive structure of geographical objects. A design method of semantic-driven hierarchical map symbols was proposed, in which the control of semantic relationships made the map symbols system more regular and scientific. And a group of cognitive experiments had been carried out which shown that the propounded method had a superior performance in cognitive efficiency and higher transmission efficiency in the analog process of information transmission.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115201081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
