Based on the DEM data (100m resolution), the relief amplitude of Qinghai was calculated by spatial statistical tool of GIS. By using the method of window analysis and the mean of change-point, the optimum statistical unit and relief amplitude of Qinghai Province was calculated. The result shows, the optimum statistical unit of Qinghai is 1km2 and is same with the 5 districts of soil and water conservation in Qinghai; classifying the relief amplitude of Qinghai by 2 methods, the result shows the relief amplitude can be divided into 6 grades.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125023304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper proposed an alternative approach to providing cloud GIS services based on scalable cluster. Compared to ArcGIS server 10.1, the approach uses three functional clusters instead of P2P architecture for scalability. A system was implemented. A cluster consisted of 30 customized cheap machines was built for experiments. Experimental results show that, the approach performs well in scalability. Moreover, great speed-up is gained while dealing with massive visits.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128977452","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The residuals of OLS estimation of urban residential carbon emissions exhibit a significant spatial association according to the value of the Moran's I statistic. GWR model effectively reduces the spatial autocorrelation of residuals by considering spatial effect. Not only does it enhance the explanatory power of the model, but also gets local estimates of the parameters. Results show that, there is strong evidence of spatial heterogeneity for impacts of three independent variables: (1) local regression coefficients of population and income are both positive in the OLS and GWR models, but spatial variability of the effect of income is greater in the GWR model; (2) the coefficient estimate of the climate variable in the OLS model is negative, however, the direction is both positive and negative in the GWR model with the magnitude of the effect varying within and across the 302 prefecture-level administrative units in China; (3) one should carefully check the reasonableness of policy recommendations made based on global linear regression models that ignore or failed to properly assess the spatial dependence.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125355171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results show that: first, there is certain spatial relevance on per capita grain possession in Henan. The similar areas cluster in space. And this trend is strengthening as time goes by. LISA cluster map demonstrates that counties with higher per capita grain possession are gathered in the center of north Henan and the intersection of Zhumadian and Xinyang, while the lower per capita grain possession are gathered in the west and southwest of Henan. Second, the per capita grain possession in Henan is imbalanced and the per capita grain possession gravity center moves to the southeast of Henan. Finally, the spatial distribution changing of per capita grain possession is affected positively by the per capita cultivated land, planting structure, history development foundation, and affected negatively by the level of economic development.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125589044","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A landform classification system consisting of ridge, valley, slope unit, and flat terrain classes is firstly constructed considering the detailed characteristics of slope unit. Based on the classification system, a procedure for slope unit derivation from DEM, which takes into consideration the topographic factors including slope gradient, slope aspect and curvature, is designed within multi-scale OBIA framework. The method to determine the optimum segmentation scale by COLV is also introduced. A case study of Shenzhen is carried out to verify the feasibility and accuracy of the designed procedure. The results of the case study shows that when the scale parameter is 20, the derived slope units remarkably denote the detailed landform structure and the bounds of the derived units are largely consistent to the concave and convex terrain bounds.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"230 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127805765","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But to date, it has not received satisfactory answers. From a perspective of multi-time scales, this paper studied the relationship between the stream flow of an inland river and its related climatic factors in the arid area of northwest China by an integrated approach combining wavelet decomposition (WD), multiple linear regression (MLR), and back propagation artificial neural network (BPANN), and investigated the Yarkand River in the southern Xinjiang as a case study. The results show that the annual runoff (AR) was mainly affected by the annual average temperature (AAT) and annual precipitation (AP), which revealed different variation patterns at five time scales. At the 16- year and 32- year scale, AR basically presented a monotonically increasing trend with the similar trend of AAT and AP. But at 2-year, 4-year, 8-year and 16-year scale, AR presented nonlinear variation with fluctuations of AAT and AP.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122771318","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

But with the booming development of the tourism industry, tourism land has shown the trend of rapid expansion. Therefore, the efficacious utility of the land for scenic area is The inevitable tendency of tourism development. Gulou District was chosen as the study object in this paper, and the land use of the scenic area within the district was evaluated by using fuzzy mathematical model and the data obtained by field survey and expert interviews. The results show that the lower efficacy of the current land use of the scenic area within Gulou District leaves a huge space to improve the situation.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"49 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122986742","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional research is focused on how to extract river systems of electronic maps correctly. They just delete rivers with low levels while not regarding redundant points of rivers of electronic maps or whether the speed of their methods could meet the users' demands. In this paper, we propose a method which filters out redundant information of electronic maps in two steps. First, we make use of a “knowledge decision making” method to extract river systems. Second, we deleted both redundant rivers and redundant points of the maps. In order to speed up our method, we use MPI to design a parallel method to delete redundant points. Experiment results show that our method could extract river systems correctly. With the number of the processes increasing, the parallel based curves rarefy method could increase in speed. Compared to traditional methods, the readability of a map will be improved after filtering out useless information and the storage space that it needs will drop drastically.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116249472","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The paper addresses the role of satellite remote sensing technologies as a tool for monitoring, assessment, reporting and verification of carbon credits. In particular, image fusion techniques were used to assess and monitor forests based on moderate resolution images of MODIS and TM data. The result showed that satellite image fusion could provide more spatial details and better spectral information compared with the original image and thus prove to be an excellent tool for monitoring carbon storage change for REDD.","PeriodicalId":286908,"journal":{"name":"2013 21st International Conference on Geoinformatics","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126971304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
