The results of a study of the cognitive \"differentiality-integrality\" metastyle and ways of encoding information in medical students are described. Methodological principles are presented that provide individualization of training, taking into account the identified features of individual intellectual behavior of students, and the experience of individualization of training at a medical university in clinical disciplines through various forms of presentation of the content of educational material and selection of teaching methods in accordance with individual intellectual behavior of students. Examples of the organization of educational activities of students in an experimental group on the clinical subject \"General Surgery\" in practical classes using practice-oriented teaching methods (solving situational problems, complex creative tasks, a method of demonstrating actions, a method of model introduction to a surgical specialty) and verbal, visual, subject-practical forms of presentation of educational material are given. Attention is focused on the fact that the conditions created through the implementation of selected methodological principles, teaching methods and forms of presentation of the content of educational material, based on the individual characteristics of the intellectual behavior of medical students, contribute to the development of their mobility within different ways of encoding information, enrich their mental experience and ensure an increase in the productivity and efficiency of the educational process at a medical university.","PeriodicalId":280577,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. Foucault). The paper relies on the method of philosophical hermeneutics. Therefore, the (pre)supposition to base the study on and interpret The Prince is the assumption that Machiavelli defines rationality through the concept of the sovereign’s reason as the source of the state governance system. In this case, reason and/or intellect is understood as a personal quality of the sovereign mastered through knowledge, which makes all actions of the sovereign a meaningful action. Thus, state governance can be interpreted in terms of such universal categories of human thinking as prudence, reasonableness and wisdom. The paper shows that the sovereign acquires prudence through practical knowledge (geography, military art) and theoretical knowledge (history). Machiavelli suggests conducting an inner dialogue with historians to study history. A dialogue with historians develops the sovereign’s ability to ask the right questions (asking) and receive the necessary answers. The study finds that Machiavelli’s principle of rationality applies to the choice of advisers and the model of the relationship between the sovereign and the advisers. The sovereign, according to Machiavelli, is a person who knows how to listen to the advisers, but who makes a decision by himself. The study shows that reason acts as a principle that guides the activities of the sovereign, allowing him to make the right choice between stinginess and thrift, cruelty and mercy, people’s love and hatred, etc. The loss of power by the sovereign is seen as a manifestation of his unreason, i.e. the intellectual inability of the sovereign to think situationally and make a reasonable choice.","PeriodicalId":280577,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. This article examines such an attempt by the famous philosopher and social psychologist E. Fromm. The specificity of this approach lies in the fact that E. Fromm is trying to link together the elements of Marxist and Freudian theory when criticizing modern capitalism. E. Fromm does not accept capitalism as a social system, because this society alienates a person's abilities and individuality, turning him into a functioning automaton. The emphasis is also on criticism of the ever-increasing consumerism, the colossal waste of natural resources and environmental problems. E. Fromm sees in the destructive consequences of the capitalist mode of production a defect of a social nature. Therefore, the question of the reasonable coexistence of man and nature remains the main question of the survival of mankind. E. Fromm associated the resolution of such issues with the development of the concept of humanistic socialism, which, in his opinion, can not only resolve the emerging problems, but also fully reveal human potential. However, the construction of humanistic socialism is carried out not on a revolutionary basis, but on the evolutionary transformation of capitalism, while denying the class struggle and the leading role of the working class. The main goal of socialism is the liberation of man.","PeriodicalId":280577,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. Series Philosophy. Psychology. This subjective situation must be resolved with the help of a formal apparatus. Research objectives are put forward: 1) define the concept of independence of volitional qualities and build their basic system; 2) show the possibility of finding numerical characteristics of the strength of independent volitional qualities, the strength of will and willpower of an individual for a certain period of his life. The concepts of \"will\", \"expression of will\", \"volitional quality\" are revealed; their interrelation is clarified. An approach to measuring a person's willpower based on measuring the strength of individual volitional qualities is considered. The concept of independence of volitional qualities is introduced. Seven independent volitional qualities that form the basis for measuring the strength of each expression of will are identified. These include: endurance, initiative, perseverance, organization, determination, independence, courage. The space of expressions of will is introduced and formulas are obtained for calculating the strength of an individual expression of will and the willpower of a subject for a certain period of his life.","PeriodicalId":280577,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. Loh in the 70-s of the twentieth century. Upbringing is analyzed by the author in the context of a person's life experience as the main anthropological concept of pedagogy. A person's life experience is considered as a certain scheme of education. Human upbringing is the assistance that helps the growing generation to overcome the biographical situations during the course of life. The article provides a description of the stages of a person's biographical development and the necessary competencies that allow him/her to overcome life and learning situations. The main role of an educator is to help a student in his or her idea of self-actualization and successful self-realization in life. An important condition of education is pedagogical conception that allows one to take a child in the context of his/her life experience and development tasks defined by the life age. An educator is seen as a significant Other that has the strongest influence on a student and becomes a symbolic figure in the long-life formation of a person.","PeriodicalId":280577,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. This article presents a study aimed at examining the life satisfaction of medical residents. The study involved 57 residents (average age 26.1±3.4 years, 40 women and 17 men). According to the results of the \"Life Satisfaction Index\" methodology, the respondents were divided into three groups depending on the level of life satisfaction: a group with a low, medium and high level accordingly. The article presents an analysis of a survey of the residents by groups about the most positive and negative aspects of their profession. Next, based on the correlation analysis, the interrelationships of life satisfaction components with the attributes of subjectivity and life hardiness characteristics were revealed. It was found that a positive assessment of satisfaction with one’s own life among medical residents is associated with the ability to manage one’s life, realize one’s goals, achieve them, and the ability to cope with difficult life situations. Thus, it can be concluded that the satisfaction of medical residents with their own life is associated with an active life stands, hardiness, and life activity awareness, and the ability to cope with stress is realized through positive perception and a conscious attitude to their life.","PeriodicalId":280577,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. The purpose of the research is to study the relationship between digital competence and intellectual abilities of adolescents. As a methodological tool, we used: the \"digital competence index\" method, the \"progressive matrices\" test by D. Raven, the TSI subtests of \"the structure of intelligence test\" by R. Amthauer, the critical thinking test, the S. Frederick's cognitive reflection test (CRT), the diagnostic technique Emotional Intelligence (EQ) by N. Hall and S. Epstein's Intuitive Style Questionnaire (REI). On a sample of 105 adolescents (mean age 14.8 years; SD = 1.22; 76 % female), various significant relationships were found between the components of information competence, suggesting the success of activities (“knowledge” and “skill”) on the one hand and scales of verbal, non-verbal and mathematical intelligence, critical thinking, cognitive reflection and emotional intelligence, on the other hand. Digital competence is statistically more significantly associated with the verbal type of intellectual abilities, as opposed to mathematical and non-verbal intelligence. An analysis of the correlations between intellectual abilities and areas of digital competence has shown that the closest links are found in the sphere of consumption of goods and services across the Internet and work with content on the network. The special role of emotional intelligence and cognitive reflection as important cognitive foundations of digital competence is discussed. Thus, the results of the study make it possible to overcome the lack of empirical evidence of the relationship between digital competence and intelligence, focusing on individual components of digital competence that are most associated with intelligence, and on individual intellectual abilities of adolescents that are most associated with successful digital socialization.","PeriodicalId":280577,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University. Attention is drawn to the need to take into account the phenomenon of recursion as a possible basis for the self-organization of human thinking. A description of recursion and recursive thinking from the theoretical positions of the works of N. Luhmann, N. Chomsky, M. Korbalis and others is offered. The specifics of self-organization of thinking on the basis of the theoretical approaches of constructivism and autopoiesis are considered. The manifestations of recursion at the level of thinking and communication are considered. The role of recursion in such manifestations of self-organization of thinking as operational closure, self-reference and reflexive loop is analyzed. The article offers an explanation of the implementation of operational isolation in mental activity through recursive work with information as a necessary initial condition for self-organization that increases the autonomy of the thinking system. Special importance is attached to self-reference and reflexive loop, which allows, through recursive comparison, to provide important properties of self-organization of complex systems associated with self-reproduction and self-regulation. Attention is drawn to the close relationship of operational closure, self-reference and reflexive loops, mediated recursive processes. The main functions performed by each of the phenomena under consideration in the self-organization of thinking are determined. Conclusions are drawn about the presence of three main properties of self-organization of thinking realized through recursion: autonomy of the thinking system, its reproduction and provision of positive feedback.","PeriodicalId":280577,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of Udmurt University.
