This modification, called FuzzyILS, was performed by Silva, Vicari and Ponce in 2016, and proposes the fuzzy of Felder and Soloman test, to determine the degree of belonging of a student to each dimension in the Felder and Silverman learning styles. In the work the method called FuzzyILS-Instruction is explained, the evaluation is performed and a comparison is made with the results obtained in the previous method, which does not implement the original Felder and Soloman test, called MeLOTS.","PeriodicalId":278097,"journal":{"name":"2017 Twelfth Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115639083","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, it is important to evaluate its usability, which is the system's efficiency and ease of use. For these evaluations, methods such as Nielsen heuristics and questionnaires are more recurrent. However, such procedures cannot detect problems that were not foreseen by the experimenters. This paper presents a case study using the protocol Think Aloud for the usability evaluation of the ITS PAT2Math. The case study showed that the protocol allows to obtain previously not foreseen information in relation to both functional questions of the graphical interface and to the emotions of the users. Think Aloud revealed to be an interesting approach to a formative evaluation of ITSs and other computer learning environments.","PeriodicalId":278097,"journal":{"name":"2017 Twelfth Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"2013 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127435740","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since monitor the apprenticeship is a very complex and time-consuming task, a theoretical framework that supports the observations of the teacher becomes necessary. The use of concept maps to record a students understanding of a subject can simplify this process a lot. In the construction of concept maps, when we are choosing a relationship between two concepts, we are creating, ultimately, what Piaget calls “a meaningful implication” that evolves according to the semantic nature of the relation that we create. We propose here, via a specific tool, an environment for the automatic identification of the meaningful implications in a concept map made by a prototype.","PeriodicalId":278097,"journal":{"name":"2017 Twelfth Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124324166","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this reason, the society as a whole has been developing strategies to achieve that commitment. As a result, it has given more attention to this society segment that is vulnerable. With this the society does not pretend to expose the individual in the early stages of his life. The way in which children live is critical in his formation when he reaches adulthood. Considering this, every field of study must be present with a childhood approach to the early stages of life. Hoping to contribute to build better generations. In the area of serious games we have better opportunities, because the games are a major part in the early stages of life and are present regardless of race, culture, religion or social status of the children. The multiple factors involved in shaping the character of children are out of their control. They are so many and varied that it becomes difficult for a child gets out unharmed. Although it is part of the natural formation of each individual processes it is different and therefore, is affected in a special way. This paper presents a serious game prototype used as an aid in the treatment of children with emotional disorder, particularly in children with some sort of depressive behavior.","PeriodicalId":278097,"journal":{"name":"2017 Twelfth Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122601465","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In line with this, different training programs have been proposed to allow the appropriation of these novel contents. This paper presents a proposal for interdisciplinary training in computer programming for primary school teachers, carried out in Argentina. Taking a socio-technical approach and from a sociocultural perspective of learning, a workshop about programming of technology for social inclusion (TIS) was designed using the Scratch tool. The preliminary results of this exploratory study allow us to identify different phases in the TIS construction process, where participants designed and programmed group productions, starting from problematic situations. In this way, teacher development proposal involved notions of programming, but also generated interdisciplinary pedagogical tools that can act as triggers for multiple activities within the classroom.","PeriodicalId":278097,"journal":{"name":"2017 Twelfth Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134204630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article focuses on a type of educational material, learning objects (LOs), that is oriented to reutilization. In particular, the design and implementation of a LO that stems from a concrete educational at the School of Computer Science of the National University of La Plata is discussed. The main goal of the LO is to help students understand the operation merge. Additionally, it is also aimed at encouraging students to learn about this topic and favor autonomous learning. The LO was developed with Ardora and eXeLearning, and it has undergone a first assessment by peers. The feedback received has resulted in the creation of a plan for future improvements.","PeriodicalId":278097,"journal":{"name":"2017 Twelfth Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132303268","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two main forms of communication are normally chosen (or combined): synchronous and asynchronous. This paper aims to analyze the impressions of students and professors about the usage of both methods of communication on the specific context of Final Year Project discipline. A survey containing questions based on the three main constructs of the Technology Acceptance Model was applied for both groups of stakeholders (students and their supervisors). The survey aimed to identify impressions and preferences of those groups for one form of communication over the other. It was possible to observe that asynchronous communication (forum discussions) was highly rated by both groups in comparison to synchronous communication(chat discussions). At the same time, it is important to highlight that synchronous communication also obtained good ratings, indicating that the combination of both methods is well suited and complementary for this particular scenario.","PeriodicalId":278097,"journal":{"name":"2017 Twelfth Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133637883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
