This change is not indifferent to activities involved in education. For this reason, several learning techniques, based on ICTs, appear to improve the efficiency of the educational process. However, the problem of a maintained individualized learning arises, which does not focus on needs of the student, since it only tries to transmit knowledge. From the point of view of Odontology, students have specific requirements, which allow them to emulate real situations as part of their university training. Therefore, it is necessary that different learning techniques are integrated into a single educational model, known as holistic education. This paper proposes a holistic learning platform, known as DentaLAV, focused on improving the study experiences of university odontology students.","PeriodicalId":278097,"journal":{"name":"2017 Twelfth Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130193471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The collaborative recommendations are made every day in different domains, education is not alien to it because everyday students have access to more educational resources and collaborative recommendations help find those who help in their learning process. One of the difficulties presented in implementing these systems is to determine the best metric of similarity among users among all existing to find a greater amount of similarities to the target user of the recommendation. Therefore, in this paper, we propose to perform a comparative analysis of similarity metrics for the recommendation of learning objects. Tests were conducted with university students and it was found that the overlap coefficient and the distance of the cosine, give better results when making a collaborative recommendation.","PeriodicalId":278097,"journal":{"name":"2017 Twelfth Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123998726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The material was built in game format and seeks to develop, in a playful way, the critical thinking of the elderly public for the safe use of the internet. The object was builded based on the ConstruMED methodology (TORREZZAN, 2014), based on planned problem situations based on observations made in digital inclusion courses offered by the Digital Inclusion Unity (UNIDI) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), located in Brazil. After completing, the LO was evaluated and validated by senior students of that course. From the analysis of the data pointed out by the older participants, it was verified that the LO anwers basic usability requirements for an educational game, adapted to the target audience in question, and satisfactorily addresses the pre-established content. Therefore, it is increasingly necessary to construct and make available inclusive and playful learning objects that instill the criticality of the older audience.","PeriodicalId":278097,"journal":{"name":"2017 Twelfth Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117252035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The new technological perspectives in educational matters, offer different ways to design the massive and open courses, these coincident like MOOC's (Massive Open Online Course). These courses are intended to facilitate learning for the user. There are several models, however one of these models used for the design of the courses is the Usability Engineering Model. The authors of this work apply and propose an improvement to the original model to design and develop a massive courses. The application of the original model yields a new version of the model, which allows to specify new elements for the design of the courses. To validate the original model, two instruments are applied, the first one consists of eight questions on the design of MOOCs. It is conceived under the concept of user centered design (UCD). The second instrument was applied to a panel of experts. It consists of 19 questions on the usability of MOOCs. The expectations of the results, are based on the proposal of the new model that mainly, is located in the user-centered design for the development of MOOCs, among other key aspects.","PeriodicalId":278097,"journal":{"name":"2017 Twelfth Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124982601","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
