Enterprises are required to reduce employee hours in order to maintain productivity, yet many are forced to close their busineses. Because of the low starting compensation, industrial park workers rely heavily on overtime. Because of their low starting compensation, industrial park workers rely heavily on overtime. Workers lose a relatively large amount of revenue due to the decrease in working hours and the loss of overtime pay, and they must attempt to maintain their lives throughout the epidemic season. Those who are the primary breadwinner in the household, have small children, or are caring for someone in need quickly fall into debt if they do not have any savings. Policies on this subject have not been thoroughly addressed, especially for workers in the electronics industries. As a result, this paper focuses on social security policies and the challenges that electronic workers face in industrial parks. The study uses secondary data from well-known local and worldwide organizations as well as some in-depth interview data of electronics workers who received support during the COVID-19 outbreak in 2020-2022. From that, the study aims to provide instructions on how to deal with similar pandemics to COVID-19 in the future. \u0000 ","PeriodicalId":273090,"journal":{"name":"VNU Journal of Science: Policy and Management Studies","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130650277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study found that tap-water in Hanoi is insecure due to uncertain upstream water sources, weak water quality monitoring, and poor wastewater drainage. Organizations are having difficulties to complete their objectives while ensuring employees’ safety whereas employees are suffering from mental and psychological health concerns, in addition to work difficulties, consequently affecting their organizational commitment. In this context, organizations and employees look up to leaders for their responses. The present study tackles leadership and organizational commitment of Vietnamese employees during the COVID-19 pandemic using the quantitative methodology. Participants are 267 Vietnamese employees who are currently working under heavy restrictions. The findings show that transformational leadership is the most prominent leadership style in Vietnam during the pandemic, following by transactional leadership. Transformational leadership has a strong and positive relationship with organizational commitment. Transactional leadership has a moderate and positive relationship with organizational commitment. The relationship appears to be weak and negative in the case of passive/avoidant leadership. The outcomes of leadership, most notably leaders’ effectiveness in dealing with group and individual interests and members’ satisfaction also show a strong and positive correlation with organizational commitment. The present study also delivers recommendation to leaders that the aspect of individual consideration should receive more attention as it helps to ease members’ struggle during the crisis, increase their satisfaction, and consequently improve their organizational commitment. \u0000Keywords: Leadership, transformational leadership, transactional leadership, organizational commitment, COVID-19, pandemic.","PeriodicalId":273090,"journal":{"name":"VNU Journal of Science: Policy and Management Studies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130324009","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
