Audience members practice good physical, emotional, social, and psychological health through their ability to create an illusion of mental escape, enlightenment, and entertainment. The paper comments on a specific shamanistic practice – “Ifa Ritual,” practiced by the African diaspora of the Americas as a metric for evaluation. I shall explore documented research on the performance expressions noticeable in the Yoruba Ifa ritual exemplary in the Santeria and their communal benefits to Afro-Cubans in the USA. The Afro-Cuban Yorubas called Lucumi are believed to have migrated as slaves from the Yoruba subgroups of Africa to the New World, and there they introduced a cultural practice called the Santeria. The Santeria is an attempt to decolonize the impact of Western religious ideologies on their spiritual and social life by performing Ifa rites as a mode of worship and healing. I interrogate how the performative styles and elements of “Ifa” including the divination techniques contribute to promoting the well-being of contemporary Ifa practitioners. Theoretically, the study considers rituals as a fundamental approach to performance and wellness that seeks to reinforce and provoke discourses in post-humanism. The scope of this study is confined to the branch of humanities and soft sciences devoted to prevalent research on the Yoruba belief system and Lucumi Santeria, aiding the discussion of \"Ifa\" as a post-humanist construct of performance and wellness.","PeriodicalId":244854,"journal":{"name":"Scholars International Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine","volume":" 826","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140382698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Diuretics in contemporary science, play a major role in the treatment of renal anomalies, but they have side effects too. So, to combat the situation, Ayurvedic Mutral drugs are gaining wide acceptance as they are safe and effective. In Ayurveda, great importance has been given to Mutra and Mutravaha srotas in maintaining the health of an individual. This can be illustrated by the fact that to deal with urinary disorders, Acharya Charak has specifically mentioned the Mutravirechaniya Mahakashaya and Acharya Sushruta and Acharya Vagbhata have mentioned Veertarvadigana and Trinapanchmoolagana. The herbs of the above-mentioned Kashaya and Gana are used to treat various renal ailments like burning micturition, scanty urine, calculi, etc. Apart from this, they also help to re-establish the normal physiological function of the affected renal tissues and organs. Hence, due to these attributes, they are the components of a wide number of Ayurvedic Mutral formulations. The current review is undertaken for screening the therapeutic action on the renal system of a total twelve herbs, taken from Mutravirechaniya Mahakashaya, Veertarvadigana and Trinapanchmoola gana. Various research studies concerning property of increasing urinary output (Mutral) of such plants are compiled here. These drugs are mostly sheet virya and snigdha guna, so increase the watery content of urine, thereby increasing its amount and flow.","PeriodicalId":244854,"journal":{"name":"Scholars International Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine","volume":"287 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140452379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The condition is known to progress in a number of stages and is related to blood pressure and glycemic management. Nevertheless, despite strict blood sugar management, the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in diabetic patients has not decreased over the past 20 years, which has led to the discovery of new risk factors for the illness's development. The medical characteristics of the Paper Flower, Bougainvillea spectabilis, include anti-inflammatory, anti-hepatotoxic, anti-inflammtory, anti-hyperlipidemic, antibacterial, antioxidant, and antiulcer capabilities. Alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, phenolics, phytobannins, quinones, saponins, tannins, and terpenoids are examples of phytoconstituents that have been claimed to have medicinal characteristics. Method: In the current study, a molecular docking technique was used to try and identify mTORC1protein inhibitors. A grid-based docking strategy was used to determine the binding using the Auto Dock software. Merck Molecular Force Field was used to build the 2D structures of compounds, convert them to 3D, and then energetically reduce them up to arms gradient of 0.01. (MMFF). Result: The molecular docking of Ferulic acid & Gallic acid with mTORC1 protein showed binding energy (Kcal/mol) -5.37 & -4.56 respectively. Conclusion: Theoretically, all the ligand molecules have shown encouraging docking score. The docking result of ferulic acid revealed that their docking scores was -5.37 kcal mol–1, and it can be predicted as good inhibitor of mTORC1 protein and thereby prevents dysregulation of intracellular protein synthesis and the metabolic balance along with decreasing oxidative stress on the kidney.","PeriodicalId":244854,"journal":{"name":"Scholars International Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine","volume":"202 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140455660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main objective of the current review is to document the potential use of L. inflata as respiratory stimulant in patients suffering from Covid-19 infection. Native Americans smoked the plant as a treatment for asthma and today, lobelia is sometimes suggested to help clear mucus from the respiratory tract, including the throat, lungs, and bronchial tubes. Although few studies have evaluated the safety and effectiveness of lobelia, some herbalists use lobelia as part of a comprehensive treatment plan for asthma. In the 19th century, American physicians prescribed the herb to induce vomiting in order remove toxins from the body. However, because of its properties as a respiratory stimulant and expectorant, the plant should be used at the correct dose and together with herbs that are soothing to the throat and lungs, and it is often used in a synergistic herbal formula that includes L. inflata herb and seed, Zingiber officinale, and Hyssopus officinalis. The study species should not be used as a substitute for drug therapy during an asthma attack and its use is contraindicated during pregnancy. Lobelia inflata has no known adverse drug interactions and it is therefore a promising complementary therapy for the management of respiratory disorders, in particular in light of the recent increase in the prevalence of respiratory diseases associated with Covid-19. In conclusions, data of the current study has proven the possibility of using the plant in treating the respiratory disorders resulting from infection with Covid-19.","PeriodicalId":244854,"journal":{"name":"Scholars International Journal of Traditional and Complementary Medicine","volume":"45 10","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139164400","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
