The article provides methodological recommendations for teaching bilingual excerpting of a Ukrainian-language journalistic text in German for students of higher education of the first bachelor's level in the field of knowledge 03 Humanities, specialty 035 Philology, under the educational and professional program «Language and Literature (German / English). Translation». A four-year-tested algorithm for bilingual abstracting of a magazine or newspaper article is proposed, which practically helps students of the Faculty of Foreign Philology master the technology of working with modern journalistic text at an advanced stage, i.e. level B2 according to the All-European Recommendations on language education. The correct automated observance of all steps of the algorithm (familiarization with the journalistic text, careful reading of the article, translation recoding of the excerpt, design of the written excerpt, self-control of the written excerpt, editing of the text of the excerpt) contributes to the correct semantic folding and adequate linguistic compression of the source text, which contributes to the optimization of the educational process under time to study German as a primary and second foreign language. The peculiarities of the structure of the excerpt as a specific secondary document are given: the exordium (bibliographic description of the primary document), the abstract part itself (the basis of the excerpt, that is, the information obtained by analytically and synthetically processing the content of the primary text) and the conclusion (addition). Creating an excerpt according to the proposed effective algorithm significantly saves time and effort of higher education students and, accordingly, increases their motivation to study. The grammatical structure of the language together with its basic vocabulary form the basis of the language. Differences in the grammatical structure of different languages often lead to the fact that during translation it is necessary to change the information contained in the original text. Even in the case of coincidence of grammatical categories in the original language and the language of translation, there is no complete correspondence between them, since the means of their expression in each language are different. When conveying grammatical constructions in translation, the principle of a functional, rather than a formal, approach to conveying the meaning of grammatical forms and constructions is important. Having analyzed grammatical universals as a means of reproducing a grammatical category in the translation from French and Italian into Ukrainian, we conclude that the three studied languages have the following common features: nouns denote objects, abstract concepts, proper names; adjectives express features of the subject; verbs – actions and states; numerals – the number and order of items in a count, and differences – nouns in the French/Italian languages have a category of certainty/uncertainty, the main means of transmission of which is the corresponding article form. In the process of translation from French and Italian to Ukrainian, grammatical units may be replaced by word forms, parts of speech, clauses, types of syntactical connection, etc. Substitutions are divided into: a) substitutions of word forms; b) replacement of parts of speech; c) replacement of sentence members (restructuring of the syntactic structure of the sentence); d) syntactic substitutions in a complex sentence; 3. addition; 4. omission. The epidemic disease has definitely influenced the collective consciousness in each country and thus caused the mass insecurity, instability, fear and, as a result, the conscious and unconscious invocation of Biblical Christian imperatives (regulatory guidelines – Bible commandments) for both each individual and the whole community. In various countries, mass media report every day spreading rates and geography of this dreaded virus, thus causing the mass anxiety and emotional burnout, which have become the everyday global lifestyle. During such a difficult period, people take a new look at their existence, their possibilities and shift the focus of their value-based world outlook. Love of life, individual spirituality and turning from bare physiological requirements towards high-toned and spiritual values become a backbone of human’s striving to overcome the psychological discomfort. This pandemic axiological dominating idea made actual a new scientific discourse of humanitaristics as a whole and of linguistics in particular; the object of the study includes those Biblical Christian (religious) imperatives, which influence the mass and individual consciousness, the so-called Covidian consciousness, and, due to to their ontology, shall reduce the emotional tension and support communities’ getting out of stresses and the renewal of usual comfortable life, which in any case will not be the same as before the pandemic.","PeriodicalId":237537,"journal":{"name":"Naukovì zapiski Nacìonalʹnogo unìversitetu «Ostrozʹka akademìâ». The advantages of using metacognitive learning methods in the educational process are given. Different approaches and models used to describe the purpose of cognitive learning are illustrated. A framework for determining different personality types of students, according to available metacognitive skills, is described. Tips are described that contribute to the development of metacognitive skills, which, in our opinion, form the foundation of metacognitive learning. The result of this exploration is the assumption that the use of metacognitive skills used in metacognitive learning helps students to become aware of their strengths and weaknesses. The key element is realizing the limits of your knowledge or abilities and then figuring out how to extend or extend that knowledge possibility. This phenomenon is connected with the fact of society's transition to the digital presentation of information, which requires the creation of criteria for the classification of texts stored in various databases, access to them and their processing. The proposed study is based on the theory of speech genres of M. Bakhtin, who was one of the first to pose the question of classification of different types of discourse, basing his theory on the idea of utterance as a unit of speech. In general, M. Bakhtin's idea of speech genres can be represented by the formula: typical statements in typical circumstances. The article analyzes theories that have similar approaches to the creation of criteria for the typology of discourse, consider discourse as an interactive process associated with various types of human activity, which has an interactive and social character. In particular, the theory of discursive formations of M. Foucault is presented, which is based on the idea of the existence of ritualized forms of discourse that function in certain circumstances. The typology of verbal interactions by C. Kerbrat-Orecchioni is also analyzed, which claims that the meaning of an utterance is a product of \"collaboration\", that it is constructed jointly by the various speakers present. At the same time, interaction can be defined as a place of collective activity for the generation of meaning and, thus, a special role belongs to the context of communication. The theory of J.-P. Bronckart is also presented, in which the researcher focuses on the typology of texts and the analysis of linguistic units characteristic of each type of text (pronouns, argumentative and temporal determinants) and studies the general mechanisms of the production of texts/discourses and their structural properties, as well as analyzes the regularities of internal functioning of these texts/discourses.","PeriodicalId":237537,"journal":{"name":"Naukovì zapiski Nacìonalʹnogo unìversitetu «Ostrozʹka akademìâ». Oleniuk, Maksym Oleniuk","doi":"10.25264/2519-2558-2022-16(84)-89-93","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.25264/2519-2558-2022-16(84)-89-93","url":null,"abstract":"Arthur Hailey’s novel “Airport” is the demonstration of a general tendency that emerged in the middle of the 20th century and significantly influenced the subsequent literary process the merging of high and mass genres and going beyond the strict framework of what – was considered worthy of the writer’s attention. It provides the insight into the inner world of a professional sphere being thus categorized as professional (occupational, workplace) novel. In order to reconstruct the workplace atmosphere, A. Hailey employs a variety of stylistic techniques with the abundant usage of professional vocabulary being the predominant one. Every profession has its own terminology which enables its members to interact effectively and express themselves. The core of communication in the professional aviation environment is aviation English, which reflects in its contents the results of scientific and professional knowledge. It is the system of terms which objectively includes not only basic aviation concepts but also general scientific notions and semi-technical vocabulary. Our research has concentrated on the investigation of the means of translation of professional vocabulary observed in A. Hailey’s “Airport”. The lexical items used by cabin crew members in the professional and private settings, which are further classified into realia, terms, professionalisms, jargonisms and slang, have come into the focus of our attention. The translations of the novel into German conducted by Wilm W. Elwenspoke in 1968 and published by the publishing house “Ulstein” has served as the material for the investigation. The following techniques were resorted to: literal translation, borrowing, transposition, calque, compression, generalization, adaptation, expansion, omission, reduction. The translation appears to be direct and equivalent, consequently, closer to the ST and few transformations have been applied. By corporeality in the article, we understand everything that is connected with the image of the biological body, organism in one or another manifestation. The motif of corporality traditionally occupied a prominent place in Czech poetry. One way or another, this topic was touched upon by the majority of Czech poets of our time. Some interweave it with the image of the divine principle, in some we see parallels with the image of nature, the inner world of man, sometimes motifs related to the multiplicity of worlds are added. In Děžinsky's poetic world, the image of corporeality acquires new categories that are not inherent to it in everyday perception. It can be concrete, when the lyrical hero interacts with it in some way, or abstract, when its characteristics are mentioned only as a hint of it. It means that corporality in poetry is a multifaceted, ambiguous phenomenon. It can manifest itself both in concrete images, such as the human body, the body of an animal, a living or dead body, parts of the body with their manifestations, but also in a more abstract version, when we single out corporality as the law of the existence of the poetic world and its essence. Understanding this, journalistic authors try to write them in a literary language, but the desire to draw attention to a note or article with an expressive title with not always tactful words usually prevails over the desire to promote literacy. The goal of highlighting the text by any means, attracting the addressee's attention becomes dominant in the process of journalists' creative speech. In addition, newspaper articles and notes reflect the everyday life of an average reader, the surrounding reality, economic, socio-cultural and political realities, prompt reflection on them, which leads to certain generalizations and conclusions regarding the representation of such concepts as man and woman. Realizing that it is worth attracting their target audience and expanding it, the authors of newspaper texts resort to eloquence as an effective tool of eloquent influence on the addressee, forcing him to see and be able to decode the apt and extraordinary headlines that abound in the pages of modern Ukrainian-language periodicals. The newspaper discourse of modern Ukrainian-language publications explicates a specific power to speak, endowed with the power to assert something, promote, broadcast stereotypes and deny them. However, it is worth noting the tendency that modern headline complexes, as the primary elements of text publications, are not always organically connected with the content of the article, but, on the contrary, quite often are an independent component of media representations. The main feature of modern newspaper headlines is apt brevity and eloquence, which contribute to attracting attention and memorization. Expression marks newspaper texts for the attractiveness, informativeness and influence of the media product. So, modern newspaper headlines multifacetedly reflect both the content and style of the article, and determine the addressee, and are a kind of compass that orients the reader in a frenzied flow of information, and a special \"litmus test\" for the level of perception of this or that concept.","PeriodicalId":237537,"journal":{"name":"Naukovì zapiski Nacìonalʹnogo unìversitetu «Ostrozʹka akademìâ». It has been established that the formation of students' critical thinking is a necessity dictated by modernity and the rapid development of the latest technologies. The article discusses the concepts of \"critical thinking\" and \"criticality\". The main three stages of the technology of forming critical thinking are described: challenge, comprehension, reflection. It is clear that the challenge stage purpose is to actualize previously acquired knowledge. The comprehension stage consists in acquiring new knowledge on one or another scientific problem, and the reflection stage is designed to generalize the acquired knowledge, as well as to form the student's own point of view, to encourage the continuous search for new sources of information and its analysis. It has been proven that the methodology and technology of teaching English in language and non-language high schools, although it has many common features and similarities, but also has significant differences. The article analyzes the problems that an English language teacher in a non-speaking university may face, such as: low level of foreign language proficiency of students, low level of motivation of learning English, passivity of students in classes, as well as concentration only on specialized subjects. Several technologies for the formation of critical thinking in English language classes at non-language high schools are proposed: \"K-W-L\" tables, interactive recording systems while reading the text. At the reflection stage, the following types of work are offered: writing various types of argumentative essays on the topic that is studied, creating conceptual tables in which students can compare three or more aspects of one or another scientific problem that is studied; discussions, expressing somebody's point of view.","PeriodicalId":237537,"journal":{"name":"Naukovì zapiski Nacìonalʹnogo unìversitetu «Ostrozʹka akademìâ». These factors are driv-ing the digital transformation of education. The main focus is on the individual de-velopment of the personality, because this approach is extremely important in the conditions of the rapid transition of humanity from industrial to scientific and in-formation technologies, and the progress of the country depends primarily on the intellectual potential of the nation, especially during the formation, reconstruction or development of the country. The authors also describe personal and profession-al qualities and traits of a teacher of higher school, which include love, respect for students, organizational skills, broad erudition, heuristic thinking, intelligence, sense of humor, etc. The profession of a teacher needs spiritual, moral, national-patriotic, civic, deep professional knowledge, abilities and skills are particularly significant, among which the organization of students' educational activities is one of the main ones. The paradigm of interaction requires treating students as partners, equal collaborators and interlocutors. An extremely important socio-psychological factor of learning is its motivation, because the success and effectiveness of educational activities, in general, depends on it. The study considered, in particular, the peculi-arities of the \"lecture method\", its features and structure, because the current Ukrainian higher school, as well as the education system, in general, is waiting for a new type of teacher who will be a mentor, a friend, and a psychologist in such a difficult time for the country, because the key to the country's prosperity is precisely the educated youth who will build, restore and transform their country.","PeriodicalId":237537,"journal":{"name":"Naukovì zapiski Nacìonalʹnogo unìversitetu «Ostrozʹka akademìâ».
