{"title":"EMOTIVE CREATIVITY AS THE BASIC CHARACTERISTIC OF COMIC ECO-DISCOURSE","authors":"O. It is proved that violation of norms (language, logical, ontological, valorative) in eco-discourse is the key factor of paradoxicality, which is a norm for humour. Thus, the essence of comic eco-discourse lies in its variation. We conclude that flexibility in comic eco-discourse depends on creativity of a discourse identity. Creativity presupposes charisma, talent, inspiration, intention to create something unique, wit etc. In our work a creative discourse identity is the postmodern American writer-humorist Dave Barry. The author’s linguocreativity finds expression in the language game – postmodern technique of comic. Dave Barry’s postmodern texts include: incongruent combination of a title and a picture, violation of graphical norms, specific book cover with a self-ironic photo of the author, usage of the intertextual elements (allusions, parodies, reminiscences, quotes etc.). Scientific research demonstrated the interaction of Dave Barry as a discursive identity with the world that surrounds him through the medium of the comic. {"title":"VERSATILITY OF J. WYNDHAM’S OEUVRE","authors":"M. This research pursues the goal of providing a systematic and analytical overview of the creative heritage of the author, which involves an emphasis on the periodization of his writing activity. The last decades are marked by isolated, but important scientific and popular scientific works, which were written both by compatriots of the writer and by foreign researchers and highlight various literary aspects of Windham's literary activity. At the same time, the analysis of Wyndham's work is practically not implemented in modern Ukrainian English studies. Moreover, one of the artist's main novels appeared in a Ukrainian translation only a few years ago, without a foreword or an afterword. In this study, an attempt was made to create a holistic view of the evolution of Wyndham's work, which reached its peak in the 1950s − a period that can be called \"golden\" in connection with the extraordinary productivity and, which does not happen so often, the synchronous popularity of Wells’s disciple. J. Wyndham's novels continue to attract attention of both readers and critics, both filmmakers and viewers, both voiceover artists and audiobook listeners, both translators and publishers. Such long-lasting interest is explained by the multimodality of the narrative, the originality of the plot, the versatility of the thematic complexes, as well as the writer's empathy for people and being burdened by the permanent dynamics of transformative social processes. The problem-thematic clusters represented in Windham's work are consistent with the modern age, which is filled with controversial phenomena, trends and alarming eschatological predictions. The apocalyptic spirit is as relevant to the modern world as it is to other eras whose apparent integration suffers from the threat of destabilization. Based upon the classical material of the research the specificity of emotions’ verbalization has been discussed. The dominant negative emotions such as agony, fierce, anger, hatred are depicted jointly and tightly. A prominent emotive feature of the horror genre is emotions’ depiction on physiological processes. It allows describing hero’s emotional worries through the prism of inner changes in his/her state of health and body in general. The article touches upon the most vivid descriptions of physiological changes depicting emotions and emotive sketches with somatisms blood and heart. Horror genre texts are full of emotive paragraphs and reveal the inner world oh heroes’ emotions. Emotions in horror literature are depicted by means of nomination and contextual description with the help of lexical and linguostylistic means. Preserving the emotive component in the target text is a complex and crucial task for a translator. Rendering emotivity without overinterpretation of the source text and without imposing one’s personal emotional world requires a high level of professionalism. Translators rendering the negative palette of emotions face stylistic omissions and neutralizations that results in the low level of emotivity in the target text. Alongside, stylistic equivalents are also present the target texts that proves the translators’ willingness and desire to be close to the author of the original. In insincere discourse, deceit, hypocrisy, and manipulation are foregrounded. The semantic basis of insincere discourse is an expression of mentality inherent in an insincere linguistic personality. With the help of persuasive strategies, the speaker influences the interlocutor through appeals to their consciousness, inviting them to their own critical judgment. In order to convince a communicative partner, the speaker provides them with logically ordered information. An insincere speaker convinces their interlocutor by deliberate use of false information. The concept “to speak truth” is opposed to the concept “to speak un-truth.” These concepts are interrelated, they are always evaluated from a moral point of view and are of great importance both in everyday communication and in literature. The truth is connected not only with the correspondence of an utterance to the real world, but with sincerity, that is, with the intentions of a person. In contrast, un-truth is associated with insincerity. I-utterances, which are used by an insincere speaker, convey the meaning of confidence, which reflects a subjective sense of truth of the expressed proposition. The utterances, manifested by type II conditional sentences, expressing an unreal condition related to the moment of speech, convey the meaning of condition in combination with the meanings of rational and emotional evaluation. Emotional evaluation is realized as a positive attitude of the speaker to the object of speech. An insincere speaker is able to flexibly use verbal and non-verbal means. The study analyzed more than 120 terms of diplomatic language. The diplomatic understyle is used in the field of interstate official business relations. The language of diplomatic documents should be simple and concise, without epithets and comparisons, but sometimes artistic images or References: to historical facts of another country are used. The text of a diplomatic appeal must precisely correspond to its semantic load. The author briefly examines the history of the formation of diplomatic terminology, and also examines the terminological system of the diplomatic sub-style, as it is the main informative layer of the vocabulary that is still being formed. The phenomenon that the diplomatic terminological system has a large number of international words (for example, from Latin, Greek, German, French, English languages) is considered in detail, as this speaks of modern trends of international cooperation. One of the important characteristics of the term, which the author of the article draws attention to, is that it must have a clear, unambiguous understanding, the terms of diplomacy must denote the same phenomenon, and he also provides definitions of the term in different languages ​​to illustrate this. The study determined that there are two types of terms (one-word terms (consul, attache, repatriation, etc.) and compound ones (international agreement, verbal note persona non grata, etc.)), the emphasis is on the fact that phrase-terms predominate. Formed as a result of interaction with previous texts (literary and cultural heritage), they require in-depth and systematic linguistic study. The research of the specifics of set expressions functioning in postmodern literary discourse through the prism of the writer A. Carter's consciousness deserves peculiar attention. The analysed English postmodern literary texts are characterised by logically thought-out organisation of material, in particular, a careful planning of intertextual connections in phraseological aspect. The expression of the author's “I” occurs with the help of intertextual connections with other texts thanks to the phraseological language fund. In this writer’s creative heritage, a multiplicity of intertextual connections is oserved, which is focused in all texts that reveal it. Since the organisation of the literary text structure is formed with the help of intertextual connections in conceptual-linguistic forms, as a result, the study and understanding of the literary text involves the research of the writer’s conceptual and linguistic picture of the world, and, therefore the linguistic representation of intertextual connections. Postmodern literary discourse is a special semantic focus of intertexts. It is marked by active use of the phraseological fund of the language. The introduction of set expressions into the structure of literary texts is characterised by deep authorial intentions and meanings, and marks the development of storylines in total. The article covers the definition of idioms and various approaches to their study and use by famous linguists. The authors present a classification of idioms, in particular semantic and structural. In addition, the syntactic study of constituents consisting of color idioms is considered. The researching discusses the implicit nature of color idioms in English and Ukrainian. The term \"implicit meaning\" is considered as the meaning that may not be obvious to speakers of foreign languages. The research work mainly analyzes common color idioms found in English and Ukrainian languages, as well as those idioms that have no semantic or structural equivalents in the compared languages. The relevance of this work lies in the fact that today's realities, the global interrelationships of nations and the cultural varieties of our planet in the 21st century, the growing needs for communication and work between countries and people of different languages ​​and cultural traditions require the training of highly qualified teachers who are able to participate in international communication and international cooperation and the formation of a new attitude towards Ukraine in Europe and around the world. It is chronologically the first textbook of poetry, which exactly belongs to the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and whose year of creating is not in doubt. Since the modern scientific description of the Ukrainian poetics teaching manuals not exist, the short description of the manuscript was made in the article. The poetics teaching manual consists of two roughly equal parts. The first one describes the general rhetorical information – on periods, amplification, epistles and chria. The religious poems are in the second part of the manual, that deals with the poetics proper, and illustrate first of all the small poetic forms. The spiritual poems constitute about a fifth part of all poetic examples. From the spiritual poetry, 16 verses are written in Latin and only three in Polish, mostly moral and didactic. The following thematic groups of religious poems are established: on God, Jesus Christ (5 verses); about the saints incl. the Virgin Mary (6); on the characters of Bible, the sacraments and religious attributes (5); the moral and didactic verses (3). The anonymous author of the Kiev poetics Fons Castalius (1685) has presented to the audience of his lectures the spiritual poetry on a variety of religious topics. Among the religious poems are works of the well-known poets and anonymous authors, popular works and the texts which are appearing for the first time.
