Formed as a result of interaction with previous texts (literary and cultural heritage), they require in-depth and systematic linguistic study. The research of the specifics of set expressions functioning in postmodern literary discourse through the prism of the writer A. Carter's consciousness deserves peculiar attention. The analysed English postmodern literary texts are characterised by logically thought-out organisation of material, in particular, a careful planning of intertextual connections in phraseological aspect. The expression of the author's “I” occurs with the help of intertextual connections with other texts thanks to the phraseological language fund. In this writer’s creative heritage, a multiplicity of intertextual connections is oserved, which is focused in all texts that reveal it. Since the organisation of the literary text structure is formed with the help of intertextual connections in conceptual-linguistic forms, as a result, the study and understanding of the literary text involves the research of the writer’s conceptual and linguistic picture of the world, and, therefore the linguistic representation of intertextual connections. Postmodern literary discourse is a special semantic focus of intertexts. It is marked by active use of the phraseological fund of the language. The introduction of set expressions into the structure of literary texts is characterised by deep authorial intentions and meanings, and marks the development of storylines in total. Consequently, when clarifying the specifics of intertextual connections in postmodern literary discourse, major attention should be paid to the study of peculiarities of set expressions functioning and their origin sources.","PeriodicalId":237537,"journal":{"name":"Naukovì zapiski Nacìonalʹnogo unìversitetu «Ostrozʹka akademìâ».
