This review is part of a broader research that focuses on the study of the notion that \"practice is the sole criterion of truth\". Our general aim is to deepen the understanding of “practice”: (a) in the work of Barata-Moura; (b) in the work of Marx and Engels, (c) in the theoretical strands that support a historical-critical approach to teacher training in Brazil; (d) in the Doctoral thesis and Master dissertations focused on the notion of practice as a leading concept in teacher training. We intend to help establishing a critical inventory about the concept of practice in the theoretical material that, in accord with the dialectical materialist method, support the training of teachers in Brazil.","PeriodicalId":230861,"journal":{"name":"Revista HISTEDBR on line","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134237528","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objects analyzed here are books “Tosco” (MATTJE, 2009), paradidactic written by Gilberto Mattje, and its supplement, “Compreendendo Tosco” (MATTJE, 2011), by the same author - base materials of the project “Tosco em Acao”. The sources used are diverse and comprise official documents, newspapers and periodicals and official virtual domains. The objective was to analyze: 1 - the process of creation of the project and its entry in Rio de Janeiro and in the municipality of Seropedica; 2 - the work as a fictional text, created for children and youth and its use as a teaching tool to promote the debate on drugs and other issues in the school environment; 3 - the role of the school and educators in the project. Such investments were supported by a theoretical framework proposed by Roger Chartier (1998), Paulo Freire (1996), Carlos Rodrigues Brandao (1982) and Howard Becker (2008). As a result, we have the characterization of a drug prevention policy that was developed under the Military Police Command and private initiative as part of a government policy of the several federal units, including Rio de Janeiro, the absence of educational agencies in this process and the recruitment of the teacher as a multiplier of the proposal.","PeriodicalId":230861,"journal":{"name":"Revista HISTEDBR on line","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132986128","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sources selected are understood in this work as part of the cultural and political strategy of catholic agents, with the purpose of shaping teachers’ action and favoring their incorporation of a desirable habitus – which would contribute to leverage catholic values and interests in the education field. The theoretical and methodological reference is based on the Laurence Bardin’s content, aiming at the systematization of the data surveyed. Pierre Bourdieu’s concepts, mainly those of field and habitus, along with Michel de Certeaus’ strategy concept were used to interpret the data. The main results point out that Backheuser, in his handbooks, advised teachers to be educators above all, in the sense that they should work with a holistic approach in the development of their students (body, intellect, moral/spirit). Among the teachers’ characteristics listed by that author as desirable, the outstanding ones were: authority, continuous development, optimism, role model, assiduity, punctuality, dialogue, being willing to get to know the students, cooperation spirit and initiative. The sources also reveal certain particular appropriation of the New School by the author, who dialogued with the novelty of the modern pedagogy from the traditional matrix of the catholic teaching.","PeriodicalId":230861,"journal":{"name":"Revista HISTEDBR on line","volume":"39 9","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120837727","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the sequence we present the understanding and defense of curriculum and scholar knowledge from the assumptions of historical-critical pedagogy, which has its theoretical foundations anchored in historical and dialectical materialism. We show that the conception of training that guides the BNCC is based on an instrumental and utilitarian rationality, directed by business interests. We analyze that the intention is to deepen the emptying of the function of the school, the teacher and the scholar curriculum, denying objective and systematized knowledge and reinforcing a pragmatic, utilitarian and technicist pedagogy, whose objective is the technical training for employment and not to form for work with meaning in human emancipation. Concomitantly, we observe that the conception that directs the BNCC has as its final objective the absolute control of the process of formation of the individuals, through the control of the curriculum for basic education, teacher training and the evaluation in large scale.","PeriodicalId":230861,"journal":{"name":"Revista HISTEDBR on line","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114229557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The theme chosen for observation, research and theoretical construction was cosmology, the way of facing the emergence of the universe, making a parallel between formal science and African culture. It introduces, in an introductory way, a comparative analysis of the diffusion of knowledge of formal science and those of African tales, on the subject, having the different views, without legitimizing or hierarchizing any of the possibilities observed. These are two forms of knowledge representation, the formal scientific canon of the conception of the universe and the playful way, and not least, that the African tradition conceives the creation of the world and of human beings. The construction and use of the concept of oral reading on the theme is one of the achievements of the text, also bringing with it and consequently the dimension of Africanities embedded in the process of spreading knowledge and knowledge.","PeriodicalId":230861,"journal":{"name":"Revista HISTEDBR on line","volume":"82 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130954243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study detected a reduction in the number of State (-5.704.486) and municipal (-1.429.275) enrolments, the growth in private enrolments (+1.540.858), with huge differences between regions and States. It points out the insufficiency of explanations for this reduction and suggests that governmental political action have contributed to this diverse picture.","PeriodicalId":230861,"journal":{"name":"Revista HISTEDBR on line","volume":"11 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124833789","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A metodologia utilizada, se deu a partir da analise sob a otica do conceito de “Entusiasmo pela Educacao” configurado por Jorge Nagle (1974), das fontes impressas disponiveis no Arquivo Publico do Parana e no site Hemeroteca, bem como em documentos levantados no Instituto Geografico e Historico do Municipio de Paranagua. O recorte temporal inicia em 1920 como ponto de partida das reformas educacionais no Parana ate 1934 com a promulgacao da Constituicao Federal de 1934. O Parana, inicia em 1920 o processo de reformulacao educacional com Caetano Munhoz da Rocha e foca no combate ao analfabetismo, onde o “grande problema da nacao brasileira” consistia na “ignorância do povo”. Com este trabalho, foi possivel observar a transicao do Ensino Primario no Parana a partir de 1930, onde os processos de disseminacao do Ensino Elementar foram rompidos com a revolucao de 1930 no Brasil. Concluiu-se entao, que o Ensino Primario no Parana, serviu primeiramente como agente de mudancas sociais em busca das mudancas no campo politico e os primeiros passos para abracar os interesses da camada social ligadas a burguesia-urbano-industrial, em busca de mao de obra para as novas industrias que iam emergindo, enquanto na segunda Republica, com Vargas e consequentemente Manoel Ribas no Parana, o plano de reconstrucao nacional, se embasava no Ensino Profissional vinculado ao trabalho.","PeriodicalId":230861,"journal":{"name":"Revista HISTEDBR on line","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115977038","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The booklet was published and sold by Livraria Commercial, a publishing house and bookstore from Pelotas, Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil, in 1924. It presents the alphabet, syllables, words, and phrases (moral maxims) in eight “Cartas” (“Letters”). Progressively and gradually, those texts presented the art of reading and writing to beginner learners, through a sequence from letters to words. Based on the state-of-art research method, this article seeks to analyze 52 qualified productions about ProUni, aiming at a better understanding of the following program-related dimensions: program design, profile of newcomers, student´s stay. Briefly, the reading of these productions indicates that ProUni has positively affected low-income students, previously with little chance of entering higher education and which would hardly be attended by public HEIs. However, there are still major challenges in terms of providing adequate conditions for them to maintain and complete their undergraduate courses.","PeriodicalId":230861,"journal":{"name":"Revista HISTEDBR on line","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121104649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
