Kajian ilmiah perlu dilakukan untuk membuktikan khasiat pugun tanoh tersebut khususnya sebagai analgetik. Pengujian aktivitas analgetik ekstrak etanol daun P. fel-terrae dilakukan menggunakan metode plantar tes infrared. Analisis dilakukan dengan membandingkan waktu yang dibutuhkan hewan uji untuk menahan induksi panas dari infrared (IR) pada panjang gelombang 96 nm, setelah pemberian ekstrak dengan dosis 25, 50 dan 100 mg/kg bb. Morfin 10 mg/kg bb dan antalgin 300 mg/kg bb digunakan sebagai kontrol positif. Kelompok kontrol negatif hanya menerima CMC-Na 0,5%. Pengamatan dilakukan selama 90 menit. Ekstrak etanol daun P. fel-terrae menunjukkan efek analgetik jika dibandingkan dengan kelompok kontrol negatif (P>0.05). Nilai AUC (Area Under Curve) waktu respon terhadap nyeri semakin tinggi dengan meningkatnya dosis. Ekstrak pada dosis 100 mg/kg bb menunjukkan aktivitas paling tinggi dengan efek analgetik yang lebih baik dari antalgin 300 mg/kg bb (p < 0,05) tetapi memiliki efek analgetik yang sama dengan morfin 10 mg/kg bb (p > 0,05). Ekstrak etanol daun P. fel-terrae mempunyai efek analgetik dan berpotensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi fitofarmaka. \u0000 \u0000Pugun Tanoh (Picria fel-terrae Lour) has been used in folk medicine for the treatment of stomach ache and inflammation. The scientific study needs to be done to prove the activity of pugun tanoh especially as analgesic. The evaluation of analgesic activity of ethanol extract of pugun tanoh leaves was conducted using plantar-test infra red method. Analysis was perfomed by comparing the the duration of test animals to resist heat induction from infrared (IR) at a wavelength of 96 nm after being treated with extract at doses of 25, 50 dan 100 mg/kg bw. Morphine 10 mg/kg bwand antalgin 300 mg/kg bwwere used as positive control. Control negative group only received 0.5% Na CMC. The observation was performed for 90 minutes. The ethanol extract of pugun tanoh leaves showed analgesic effect as compared to negative control group (P<0.05). AUC (Area Under Curve) value of duration to resist pain increased as the dose increased. The extract at dose of 100 mg/kg bw displayed higher analgesic activitythan antalgin 300 mg/kg bw (p < 0,05) but was comparable with morphine10 mg/kg bw (p > 0,05). Terapi pengobatan yang diterima pasien geriatri sangat kompleks sehingga sering menimbulkan Drug Related Problem terutama pada organ ginjal. Jamu menjadi terapi alternatif pada pasien geriatri yang memerlukan terapi jangka lama. Tujuan studi kasus ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian jamu pada pasien geriatri yang sudah berobat dalam jangka waktu 45 bulan terhadap fungsi ginjal. Metode penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus berdasarkan data rekam medis di Rumah Riset Jamu Tawangmangu terhadap pasien geriatri yang secara rutin kontrol dan periksa ureum atau kreatinin selama 45 bulan dan masih mengkonsumsi jamu hingga bulan April 2018. Untuk melihat pengaruh jamu pada ginjal dilakukan pemeriksaan Glomerulus Filtration Rate (GFR). Hasil: Seorang laki-laki umur 61 tahun dengan keluhan tangan kanan merasa kesemutan. Pasien memiliki riwayat penyakit hipertensi dan diabetes mellitus lebih dari 15 tahun. Tekanan darah 140/90 mmHg dan tanda vital serta pemeriksaan fisik lainnya dalam batas normal. Pemeriksaan laboratorium Gula Darah Puasa (GDP) 227 mg/dL, ureum dan kreatinin diperiksa setelah bulan kelima pasien minum jamu yaitu ureum 35 mg/dL dan kreatinin 0,89 mg/dL. Selama minum jamu terjadi fluktuasi nilai GFR pasien tetapi tidak sampai menurun hingga kategori berat. Pada akhir bulan ke-45 meskipun terjadi penurunan GFR pasien dibanding pemeriksaan GFR yang pertama tetapi masih dalam kategori yang sama dengan nilai GFR pertama kali periksa (kategori ringan). Kesimpulan: Pemberian jamu dalam jangka waktu 45 bulan secara berturut-turut pada pasien geriatri tidak menyebabkan penurunan GFR signifikan. \u0000 \u0000Geriatric patients are elderly patients who have the characteristics of multi pathology, decreased physiology, and atypical symptom of a disease. Treatment received by geriatric patients is very complex so it often leads to Drug-Related Problems, especially in the kidney organs. Jamu is an alternative therapy for geriatric patients who need long-term therapy. The objective of this case study was to evaluate the effect of Jamu (herbs) on kidney function of geriatric patients who have been treated for 45 months. The research method was a case study based on the medical record of geriatric patients at Jamu Research Center in Tawangmangu who routinely control and examine for their urea or creatinine levels for 45 months and still consume herbs until April 2018. In order to evaluate the effect of jamu on the kidney, Glomerulus Filtration Rate (GFR) was examined. Results: A 61-year-old male with a right hand feeling tingling. Lindl.) dapat tumbuh dengan mudah di dataran tinggi di Sumatera Utara. Tanaman ini memiliki banyak khasiat dalam mengobati berbagai penyakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi aktivitas antioksidan daun E. japonica dengan menggunakan DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil). Daun E. japonica dimaserasi menggunakan etanol 96%. Ekstrak diuji dengan metode pemerangkapan radikal bebas menggunakan DPPH. Kuersetin digunakan sebagai antioksidan standar. Ekstrak diukur pada konsentrasi 0, 20, 40, 60 dan 80 ppm dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer pada panjang gelombang 516 nm, setelah diinkubasi 15 menit dengan DPPH. Daun E. japonica memiliki nilai IC50 56,59 µg/mL sedangkan IC50 kuersetin adalah 4,36 µg/mL. Sehubungan dengan itu, daun E. japonica digolongkan sebagai antioksidan kuat dan berpotensi untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut. \u0000 \u0000Biwa (Eriobotrya japonica (Thunb.) Lindl.) can grow easily in the highlands in North Sumatra. This plant can be used to treat various diseases. This research aimed to evaluate the antioxidant activity of E. japonica leaves using DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-pikrilhidrazil). E. japonica leaves were macerated using ethanol 96%. The extract was evaluated by free radical scavenging method using DPPH. Quercetin was used as standard antioxidant. The extract was measured with concentrations of 0, 20, 40, 60 and 80 ppm using spectrophotometer at 516 nm wavelength, after incubated with DPPH for 15 minutes. Penelitan ini bertujuan menguji kandungan senyawa fitokimia ekstrak etanol biji labu kuning, efek pemberian ekstrak etanol biji labu kuning dan perbedaan efek ekstrak dengan dosis bertingkat terhadap penurunan degenerasi sel beta pankreas tikus putih jantan hiperkolesterolemia diabetes. Penelitian eksperimen laboratorium ini menggunakan hewan uji sebanyak 30 ekor tikus dibagi dalam enam kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok 1 (kontrol normal) diberikan Na-CMC 0,5% dan kelompok 2 (kontrol negatif) diberi pakan tinggi kolesterol, suspensi Streptozotocin 35 mg/kgBB dan Na-CMC 0,5% b/v; kelompok 3 diberi metformin 9 mg/kgBB per oral, pakan tinggi kolesterol dan suspensi streptozotocin 35 mg/kgBB; kelompok 4, 5 dan 6 masing-masing diberikan dosis 270, 360, dan 450 mg/kgBB per oral, pakan tinggi kolesterol dan suspensi streptozotocin 35 mg/kgBB. Gambaran tingkat kerusakan histopatologi pankreas diamati dengan pewarnaan HE menggunakan mikroskop Olympus BX-51 perbesaran 200x. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: Terdapat senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, polifenol, saponin,dan tannin pada ekstrak etanol biji labu kuning; ekstrak etanol biji labu kuning dosis 360 dan 450 mg/kgBB efektif menurunkan degenerasi jaringan pankreas tikus hiperkolesterolemia diabetes dan pemberian ekstrak etanol biji labu kuning dosis 270 mg/kgBB tidak memberikan efek maksimal jika dibandingkan dengan dosis 360 mg/kgBB dan dosis 450 mg/kgBB terhadap regenerasi sel organ pankreas tikus putih jantan hiperkolesterolemia diabetes. \u0000 \u0000Hypercholesterolemia is an abnormal increase in blood cholesterol levels. This study aimed to identify the phytochemical content of pumpkin seed ethanol extract, the effect of pumpkin seed ethanol extract and the difference in the effect of various doses of extract in decreasing pancreatic beta cell degeneration in male diabetic hypercholesterolemia rat. The experimental research in laboratory used 30 rats as test animals, divided into six group. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi senyawa yang berkhasiat sebagai antioksidan dari ekstrak buah andaliman. Ekstraksi dilakukan secara maserasi kinetik menggunakan pelarut n-heksan, dan etil asetat. Ekstrak kental yang diperoleh kemudian diuji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode peredaman radikal bebas menggunakan DPPH. Sebagai kontrol positif digunakan vitamin C. Selanjutnya dilakukan pemurnian dengan kromatografi kolom sampai diperoleh isolat EA.X.6.1 yang mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode peredaman radikal bebas DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil) menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etil asetat buah andaliman mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 66,91 bpj, dan isolat EA.X.6.1 yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan tertinggi dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 135,58 bpj. Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan spektrofotometri UV-Vis, spektrofotometri Fourier Transform Infra Red (FT- IR) dan Kromatografi Gas-Spektrometri Massa (KG-SM) diduga senyawa aktif antioksidan yang terdapat dalam ekstrak etil asetat buah andaliman adalah 2-metoksi-4-vinilfenol. \u0000 \u0000Andaliman fruit, (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC), is widely consumed by people as a food spice and traditional medicine to treat stomach pain, tonic, and as anti-microbial drugs. This study aimed to identify compounds that wereefficacious as antioxidants of andaliman fruit extract. The extraction was performed by kinetic maceration method using n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Then, the crude was tested for its antioxidant activity by free radical DPPH scavenging method. Vitamin C was used as a positive control. Furthermore, the extract was purified by column chromatography to obtain isolate EA.X.6.1 which has the highest antioxidant activity. The results of evaluation on antioxidant activity by free radical DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil)scavenging method showed that ethyl acetate andaliman fruit extract revelaed antioxidant activity with IC50value of 66,91 bpj and isolate EA.X.6.1 which showed the highest antioxidant activity with IC50value of 135,58 bpj. Peningkatan kadar gula terjadi karena adanya gangguan pada sekresi insulin dan kerja insulin. Salah satu cara untuk mencegah resiko terjadinya komplikasi dan kekambuhan pada diabetes mellitus adalah dengan menerapkan kepatuhan diet pada penderita diabetes mellitus. Kepatuhan diet pada penderita diabetes mellitus harus diperhatikan karena diet merupakan salah satu factor untuk menstabilkan kadar gula dalam darah menjadi normal dan mencegah terjadinya komplikasi pada penderita diabetes mellitus Metode Penelitian: Penelitian ini di desain secara cross sectional. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh pasien diabetes mellitus yang melakukan kunjungan di Puskesmas Labuhan Medan pada bulan Juli 2017.Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling.Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuisioner dan analisis data menggunakan metode Chi square. Hasil: Penderita Diabetes Mellitus di puskesmas Pekan Labuhan Medan mempunyai tingkat pengetahuan rendah sebesar 2%, sedang 44% dan tinggi 54%.Sedangkan tingkat kepatuhan rendah sebesar 2%, sedang 46% dan tinggi 52%. Kesimpulan: Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tidak terdapat adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan diet dengan kepatuhan diet pada penderita diabetes mellitus di Puskesmas Pekan Labuhan Medan dengan p value 0,001 (< 0,05). \u0000Background: Diabetes mellitus is one of metabolism disease due to abnormally high blood glucose level. The high blood glucose levels occur because of interference in insulin secretion and insulin action. One way to prevent the risk of complications and recurrence in diabetes mellitus is to apply dietary adherence to people with diabetes mellitus. Dietary compliance in people with diabetes mellitus must be considered because the diet is one factor to stabilize blood glucose levels to normal and prevent complications in people with diabetes mellitus. Methods: The research design was cross sectional. The population of this study were all diabetes mellitus patients The population in this study were all patients with diabetes mellitus who visited Primary Health Center of Labuhan Medan in July 2017. Sampling was performed by purposive sampling method. Data was collected using questionnaires and data were analyzed using the Chi-square method. Results: Diabetes Mellitus patients at Pekan Labuhan Medan Primary health center have a low level of knowledge of 2%, moderate 44% and high 54%. While the level of compliance was low at 2%, medium 46%, and high 52%. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kohort dengan menggunakan kuesioner Short Form-36 (SF-36) sebagai alat pengukuran kualitas hidup 40 subjek penelitian dengan KGD sewaktu 200 – 300 mg/dl. Pasien diberi ramuan jamu temulawak ,kunyit, dan meniran tiga kali sehari selama 56 hari. Kualitas hidup subjek diukur pada hari ke 0, 28, dan 56. Pengaruh penggunaan jamu terhadap QoL dianalisis menggunakan uji t berpasangan.Sebanyak 58% dari subjek penelitian adalah perempuan. Hasil penelitian membuktikan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara QoL sebelum dan setelah pemberian jamu selama 56 hari, (p=<0,05). Ramuan jamu batang brotowali, herba sambiloto, rimpang temulawak, rimpang kunyit, dan herba meniran dapat meningkatkan QoL pasien DM. \u0000 \u0000Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a degenerative disease with increased morbidity and mortality. Herbal medicine has been widely used to control blood glucose levels in DM patients. This study aimed to analyze the effect of consumehyperglycemic jamu formula on quality of life (QoL) in DM patients. This study was a cohort study using a Short Form-36 (SF-36) questionnaire as a quality of life measurement tool of 40 subjects with blood gluces levels at 200 - 300 mg / dl. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengamati aktivitas ekstrak pericarp kulit buah manggis terpurifikasi yang mengandung > 90% alfa-mangostin dalam penyembuhan luka eksisi pada mencit putih jantan secara in vivo. Paramater yang diukur adalah persentase penyembuhan luka eksisi, waktu epitelisasi dan kerapatan serabut kolagen. Mencit dibagi menjadi dua kelompok, dimana kelompok I merupakan kelompok kontrol negatif (-) yang hanya diberi sediaan suspensi Na CMC 1%, sedangkan kelompok II merupakan kelompok perlakuan yang diberi sediaan suspensi ekstrak dengan konsentrasi 1%. Pada hari ke-5, ke-10 dan ke-15 diukur persentase penyembuhan luka dan diamati waktu epitelisasi serta kerapatan serabut kolagen. Hasil penelitian dari persentase penyembuhan luka dan waktu epitelisasi yang dianalisa dengan uji General Linear Model Repeated Measures memberikan perbedaan secara nyata (p<0,05), sedangkan untuk pengamatan serabut kolagen menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan secara nyata (p>0,05) dan untuk waktu epitelisasi yang diuji menggunakan uji T Independent Sample memberikan perbedaan secara nyata (p<0,05), maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak terpurifikasi dapat memberikan efek dalam penyembuhan luka eksisi pada mencit. \u0000 \u0000Alfa mangosteen is a major compound of mangosteen extract cortex and hasvarious bioactivities, such as anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial so that can be used as wound healing. This research aimed to evaluate the activity of Purified Mangosteen Pericarp Fruit Cortex which contained alfa mangosteen > 90% as excision wound healing agent in male mice by in vivo study. \u0000The parameters observed were \u0000Excision wound healing, epithelialization time and collagen fiber density. Mice were divided into two groups, group I was the negative control group (-) which was only received 1% Na CMC suspension, while group II was the treatment group received 1 % extract suspension. Pengujian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui skrining simplisia dan ekstrak serta aktivitas antelmintik ekstrak etanol daun ekor naga (Rhaphidophora pinnata(L.)Schoot).Ekstrak didapatkan dengan mengekstraksi serbuk simplisia daun ekor naga (Rhaphidophora pinnata (L.) Schoot) dengan etanol 80% secara maserasi. Uji aktivitas antelmintik menggunakan cacing Pheretima hupiensis. Pirantel pamoat dengan konsentrasi 20 mg/mL digunakan sebagai kontrol positif. Aktivitas antelmintik ekstrak etanol daun ekor naga ditentukan berdasarkan waktu paralisis dan lisis Pheretima hupiensis. Hasil pengujian serbuk simplisia dan ekstrak etanol daun ekor naga mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, glikosida, saponin, tanin, dan steroid/triterpenoid. Ekstrak etanol daun ekor naga (Rhaphidophora pinnata(L.) Schoot) memiliki aktivitas antelmintik terhadap cacing Pheretima hupiensis pada konsentrasi 30, 20, 15, 10, 5 mg/mL mampu membunuh cacing dengan waktu berturut-turut adalah 29,22; 46,80; 63,69; 82,66; 131,28 menit. Kelompok kontrol positif (pirantel pamoat) memiliki waktu kematian 107,64 menit sedangkan control negatif memberikan hasil negatif. Analisis statistika waktu kematian cacing dengan uji Tukey menunjukkan perbedaan secara signifikan dengan nilai p<0,05. Ekstrak etanol daun ekor naga (Rhaphidophora pinnata (L.) Schoot) mempunyai daya antelmintik terhadap cacing Pheretima hupiensis. The emergence of parasitic worm strains that are resistant to anthelmintics makes worm treatment difficult. Therefore it is necessary to find new anthelmintic agent. This study was carried out to determine the phytochemical screening pf dried powder materialand extract as well as the antelmintic activity of ethanol extract of ekor naga leaves (Rhaphidophora pinnata (L.) Schoot). \u0000The extract was obtained by maceration of dried powder of Ekor Naga (Rhaphidophora pinnata (L.) Schoot) leaves using ethanol 80%. The anthelmintic activity was evaluated on Pheretima Hupiensis. Pyrantel pamoate with a concentration of 20 mg/mL was used as a positive control. Di Rumah Riset Jamu (RRJ) terdapat banyak pasien hipertensi dengan hiperkolesterolemia yang diterapi menggunakan kombinasi ramuan jamu antihipertensi dan antihiperkolesterolemia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek kombinasi ramuan jamu tersebut dalam menurunkan tekanan darah dan kadar kolesterol. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode kohort retrospektif. Sampel didapatkan dari data rekam medik pasien hipertensi yang disertai hiperkolesterolemia di RRJ Hortus Medicus tahun 2017. Subjek penelitian ini adalah pasien yang berusia 20-65 tahun dan telah menjalani terapi kombinasi ramuan jamu antihipertensi dan antihiperkolesterol minimal 28 hari. Analisis dilakukan dengan membandingkan tekanan darah dan kadar kolesterol pasien pada hari ke-0 dan hari ke-28 masing-masing menggunakan uji t berpasangan. Sebanyak 223 data pasien didapatkan. Setelah 28 hari, terdapat 74 orang yang berhasil mencapai tekanan darah normal dan 115 orang berhasil mencapai kadar kolesterol normal. Tekanan darah sistolik berbeda secara signifikan antara sebelum dan setelah pemberian ramuan jamu, p=0,000. Demikian juga tekanan darah diastolik berbeda secara signifikan antara sebelum dan setelah pemberian ramuan jamu p=0,005. Kadar kolesterol di dalam darah pasien juga berbeda secara signifikan antara sebelum dan setelah pemberian ramuan jamu, p=0,014. Berdasarkan hasil di atas, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian kombinasi ramuan jamu antihipertensi dan antihiperkolesterolemia selama 28 hari dapat menurunkan tekanan darah dan kadar kolesterol pasien secara signifikan. \u0000 \u0000Hypertension and hypercholesterolemia are still a health problem. Treatment of hypertensive patients comorbid with hypercholesterolemia requires special attention. At the Jamu Research House (RRJ) there are many hypertensive patients with hypercholesterolemia who are treated using a combination of antihypertensive and antihypercholesterolemic herbs. This study aimed to determine the effect of the combination of jamu in lowering blood pressure and cholesterol levels. This study was conducted using a retrospective cohort method. Samples were obtained from medical record of hypertensive patients comorbid with hypercholesterolemia at RRJ Hortus Medicines in 2017. The subjects of this study were patients aged 20-65 years and had undergone a combination therapy of antihypertensive and antihypercholesterolemicjamu at least 28 days. The analysis was carried out by comparing the blood pressure and cholesterol levels of patients on day 0 and day 28 using paired t test. A number of 223 patient data were obtained. After 28 days, there were 74 people who reach normal blood pressure and 115 people achieve normal cholesterol levels.
