Tingginya angka kejadian dan resistensi agen kemoterapi menyebabkan perlu dilakukan pencarian bahan alam dengan aktivitas antikanker. Penggunaan bahan alam diharapkan dapat mengatasi resistensi dan efek samping yang terjadi ketika digunakan kemoterapi konvensional. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas antikanker fraksi kloroform (alkaloid) kulit batang dan buah attarasa pada sel T47D. Ekstrak etanol diekstraksi dengan cara maserasi dan difraksinasi dengan n-heksana dan kloroform pada pH 3, 7, 9. Pengujian sitotoksik secara in vitro menggunakan metode MTT yang kemudian dianalisis menggunakan SPSS 21. Hasil uji sitotoksik (IC50) yang diperoleh setelah pemberian fraksi alkaloid kulit batang dan buah attarasa pH 7 dan 9 adalah sebesar 46,60 ± 0,19; 123,01 ± 14,63 dan 35,89 ± 1,04; dan 98,31 ± 2,51 µg/mL. Fraksi alkaloid kulit batang dan buah attarasa bersifat sitotoksik terhadap sel kanker payudara T47D. \u0000  \u0000Breast cancer is one type of cancer that attacks many women in addition to cervical cancer. The high incidence and resistance of chemotherapy agents causes the need to search for natural products  with anticancer activities. The use of natural product is expected to overcome resistance and side effects that occur when used conventional chemotherapy.  This research aimed to \u0000evaluate the anti-cancer activity of chloroform fraction (alkaloid) from cortex and Fructus of Attarasa on T47D cell. The ethanol extract was prepared by maceration method and then fractionated using n-hexane and chloroform at pH 3, 7, and 9. In vitro study of cytotoxic activity was performed using MTT method, then analyzed using  SPSS 21. The IC50 values of cytotoxic activity of alkaloid fraction from cortex and Fructus of Attarasa at pH 7 dan 9 were 46.60 ± 0.19; 123.01 ± 14.63 and 35.89 ± 1.04; dan 98.31 ± 2.51 µg/mL. Ekstrak etanol daun pugun tanoh dan fraksi-fraksinya mampu membunuh cacing parasit Ascaris lumbricoides dan Ascaridia gali. Pengujian terhadap aktivitas antelmintik subfraksi dari ekstrak etanol tersebut perlu dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk memperoleh senyawa bioaktifnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antelmintik subfraksi dari fraksi etanol daun pugun tanoh. Penelitian dilakukan dengan memfraksinasi 20g fraksi etanol daun pugun tanoh secara kromatografi cair vakum dengan fase gerak landaian n-heksana-etil asetat dan etil asetat-metanol menggunakan fase diam silika gel 60H. Setiap 250 ml cuplikan ditampung dan ditentukan pola kromatogramnya dengan kromatografi lapis tipis menggunakan fase gerak n-heksana-etilasetat (70:30) dan fase diam silika gel GF254. Cuplikan dengan pola kromatografi yang sama dikumpulkan sebagai satu subfraksi. Setelah diuapkan, subfraksi diuji aktivitas antelmintiknya terhadap Pheretima posthuma.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fraksi etanol daun pugun tanoh menghasilkan 4 subfraksi yaitu SF1 (0,10%), SF2 (4,00%), SF3 (4,05%), dan SF4 (73,55%). Waktu kematian P. posthuma akibat paparan SF1, SF2, SF3, dan SF4 masing-masing adalah 77,00 ± 1,00 menit; 56,33 ± 1,76 menit; 79,33 ± 1,33 menit; dan 112,33 ± 0,67 menit. Subfraksi dari fraksi etanol daun pugun tanoh memiliki aktivitas antelmintik dimana SF2 lebih kuat dibandingkan SF3, SF1, dan SF4. \u0000  \u0000Pugun tanoh [Picria fel-terrae (Lour.)] is one of the Indonesian medicinal plants which has the potential as an anthelmintic. Ethanol extract of pugun tanoh leaves and their fractions were able to destroy the parasitic worms Ascaris lumbricoides and Ascaridia. The evaluation of antelmintic activity of subfraction of ethanol extract needs to be done in an effort to obtain its bioactive compounds. This study aimed to determine the anthelmintic activity of subfraction of  pugun tanoh leavesethanol fraction. The study was carried out by fractionating 20g ethanol fraction of pugun tanoh leaves by vacuum liquid chromatography with a mobile phase of n-hexane-ethyl acetate and ethyl acetate-methanol using the stationary phase of silica gel 60H.Each 250 ml aliquot was collected and the chromatogram pattern was determined by thin layer chromatography using the n-hexane-ethylacetate(70:30)  asmobile phase and silica gel GF254 as stationary phase. The Aliquots with same chromatographic pattern were collected as one subfraction. After being evaporated, the subfraction was tested for its anthelmintic activity against Pheretima posthuma. The results showed that ethanol fraction of pugun tanoh leaves produced 4 subfractions namely SF1 (0.10%), SF2 (4.00%), SF3 (4.05%), and SF4 (73.55%). The time of P. posthuma's death due to exposure to SF1, SF2, SF3, and SF4 was 77.00 ± 1.00; 56.33 ± 1.76; 79.33 ± 1.33; and 112.33 ± 0.67 minutes, respectively. Umbinya telah diketahui mempunyai aktivitas dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek penurunan kadar glukosa darah dari ekstrak etanol daun dan batang ubi jalar ungu serta golongan senyawa yang terkandung dalam ekstrak. Desain penelitian menggunakan randomized pre-test post-test kontrol grup desain. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan 15 ekor tikus jantan galur wistar dan dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok yaitu kontrol negatif (akuades), kontrol positif (metformin 45 mg/kgBB), kelompok perlakuan ubi jalar ungu dosis 150; 300; 600 mg/kgBB, sebelumnya masing –masing tikus dinduksi dengan aloksan 150 mg/kgBB, dan dilakukan pemantauan selama 14 hari. Pemeriksaan kadar gula darah menggunakan spektrofotometer visibel dengan panjang gelombang 500 nm. Data dianalisis secara statistik untuk mengetahui perubahan kadar gula darah. Hasil yang didapat dengan pemberian ekstrak pada dosis 150, 300, dan 600 mg/kgBB selama pemantauan 14 hari dapat menurunkan kadar gula darah berturut – turut menjadi 96,33 ± 4,72 ; 66,67 ± 16,16 ; dan 142,67 ± 27,06 mg/dL. Ekstrak etanol daun dan batang ubi jalar ungu memiliki kandungan senyawa yaitu alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tanin dan senyawa fenolik. \u0000  \u0000The purple sweet potato plant (Ipomoea batatas L.) is easy to obtain and has many uses, especially the purple sweet potato tubers which are mostly utilized by the people, while the utilization of its leaves and stem are not maximized. Its tuber has been known to have activity in  reducing blood sugar levels.This research aimed to evaluate the effect of ethanol extract of leaves and stems of purple sweet potatoes in reducing blood glucose level as well as to identify its chemical constituents. The study was design by a randomized pre-test post-test control group. The animal used were 15 wistar male rats which divided into 5 groups, these include negative control (distilled water), positive control (metformin 45 mg/kgBW), treatment group of purple sweet potatoes with the doses of 150; 300; 600 mg/kgBW, before the treatment all rats were induced by aloxan 150 mg/kgBW, and all groups were observed for 14 days. \u0000Blood glucose level was determined using UV-Vis spectophotometer at wavelength of 500 nm. The data were analyzed statistically to evaluate blood glucose level alteration.  The result showed that the extract at doses of 150, 300, dan 600 mg/kgBW decrease blood glucose level in 14 days observation, the blood glucose levels were 96.33 ± 4.72 ; 66.67 ± 16.16 ; and  142.67 ± 27.06 mg/dL, respectively. Pengetahuan pemanfaatan tumbuhan obat di wariskan secara turun temurun. Seiring dengan perkembangan waktu, kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan dan ilmu teknologi, telah meningkatkan penggunaan tumbuhan obat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui cara masyarakat di Kabupaten Pidiekhususnya di Kecamatan Keumala dalam memanfaatkan tumbuhan obat. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode PRA (Participatory Rural Appraisal), yaitu proses pengkajian yang berorientasi pada keterlibatan dan peran masyarakat secara aktif dalam penelitian yang dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara diketahui bahwa terdapat 8 spesies tumbuhan obatyang berasal dari family Zingiberaceae yang digunakan sebagai tanaman obat oleh masyarakat Pidie.Spesies tersebut antara lain Temulasi, Temulawak, Halia, Halia Merah, Boh Rangkueh, Boh Cuko, Kunyet Molay, dan Kunyet, yang semuanya berstatus di budidayakan. Bagian yang digunakan adalah Rimpang. Diharapkan penelitian ini berpotensi untuk menemukan jenis tanaman obat baru (bioprospecting) yang bermanfaat bagi farmasi dalam rangka peningkatan kesehatan masyarakat luas. \u0000  \u0000The utilization of medicinal plant has long been conducted by Indonesian people, especially people who live in rural areas. Knowledge of the use of medicinal plants started from generation to generation. Along with the development of science and technology, the utilization of medicinal plants has increased. The research aimed to find out how the people in Pidie Regency, especially in Keumala District, use medicinal plants. The method used is the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method, which is an assessment process that is oriented to the involvement and active role of the community in research which data collection through interviews and observations. Based on the results of interviews, there were 8 species of medicinal plants from family Zingiberaceae were used as medicinal plants by the Pidie community. These include Temulasi, Temulawak, Halia, Halia Merah, Boh Rangkueh, Boh Cuko, Kunyet Molay, and Kunyet, all of them were cultivated plants. The part used was Rhizome. Teknologi formulasi nanopartikel diharapkan dapat meningkatkan aktivitas biologis dari ekstrak.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh nanopartikel dari ekstrak bunga kecombrang dengan karakteristik yang baik.Pembuatan nanopartikel dilakukan dengan penambahan poloksamer dengan variasi konsentrasi 1, 3 dan 5%. Formulasi selanjutnya dianalisis meliputi ukuran partikel rata-rata, indeks polidispersitas, potensial zeta, efisiensi penjeratan dan morfologi partikel menggunakan SEM.Hasil karakterisasi diperoleh ukuran partikel rata-rata ketiga formula berada dalam rentang 134,7-193,1 nm, indeks polidispersitas <0,5 untuk semua formula, nilai potensial zeta antara -41,0 - (-24,3) mV dan efisiensi penjeratan terhadap senyawa flavonoid 89,93-97,99 %. Berdasarkan hasil SEM nanopartikel diketahui berbentuk bulat dengan permukaan yang halus.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa nanopartikel ekstrak bunga kecombrang dengan penambahan poloksamer 1, 3 dan 5% memiliki karakteristik yang baik dan memenuhi syarat sebagai sediaan nanopartikel. \u0000  \u0000Kecombrang flowers are known to have antioxidant activity. Nanoparticle formulation technology is expected to increase the biological activity of the extract. This study was conducted to obtain the nanoparticles from kecombrang flower extract with good characteristics. The preparation of nanoparticles was carried out by adding poloxamer with various concentrations of 1, 3 and 5%.Furthermore, the formula were analyzed, including the average particle size, polydispersity index, zeta potential, entrapment efficiency and particle morphology using SEM. The results of the characterization obtained an average particle size of the three formulas in the range of 134.7-193.1 nm, polydispersity index <0 , 5 for all formulas, zeta potential values ​​in range of -41.0 - (-24.3) mV and entrapment efficiency of flavonoid compounds of 89.93-97.99%The results of SEM examination showed that nanoparticles  was in round form with a smooth surface. Daun malaka menunjukkan efek hipoglikemia pada tikus yang diinduksi aloksan. Namun, mekanisme kerjanya belum diketahui pasti. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam rangka skrining mekanisme kerja daun malaka sebagai antidiabetes. Skrining mekanisme kerja dilakukan terhadap fraksi air daun malaka melalui uji aktivitas inhibisi enzim α-glukosidase serta α-amilase secara in vitro dan pengujian aktivitas insulin-sensitizer terhadap ekstrak daun malaka dengan metode tes toleransi insulin secara in vivo. Fraksi air daun malaka menunjukkan aktivitas inhibisi terhadap enzim α-glukosidase serta α-amilase dengan nilai IC50 (Inhibitor Concentration 50) pada kedua enzim tersebut berturut-turut adalah 0,87% dan 8,64% b/v. Pada uji aktivitas insulin sensitizer, pemberian ekstrak daun malaka dapat meningkatkan sensitivitas insulin pada tikus diabet dengan kondisi resistensi insulin. Nilai KTTI pada kelompok tikus diabet yang diberi ekstrak daun malaka dosis 100 dan 500 mg/kgbb tikus (74,89 dan 75,57) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok tikus diabet (38,41) dan kadar glukosa darah yang lebih rendah selama interval waktu pengukuran. Daun malaka telah diketahui mampu meningkatkan sekresi insulin dan pada penelitian ini menunjukkan aktivitas inhibisi enzim α-glukosidase serta α-amilase secara in vitro dan menunjukkan aktivitas insulinsensitizer pada tikus diabet dengan kondisi resistensi insulin. \u0000  \u0000Malaka leaf (Phyllanthus emblica L.) has the potential to be used as an alternative antidiabetic drug. Malacca leaves showed hypoglycemia effect in rat induced by alloxan. However, the mechanism of action is not yet known. This study was conducted to evaluate the mechanism of action of Malaka leaves as antidiabetic. Screening of the mechanism of action was carried out on the water fraction of Malaka leaf  byinhibitory activity examination  on α-glucosidase and α-amylase by in vitro studyand Evaluation of insulin-sensitizer activity of Maaka leaf leaf extract was conducted by invivo  insulin tolerance test method. Lidah mertua memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus dan Escherichia coli. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi ekstrak daun lidah mertua dalam sediaan gel yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terbesar dalam penurunan jumlah angka kuman. Ekstraksi daun lidah mertua menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. Variasi konsentrasi ekstrak daun lidah mertua dalam sediaan gel hand sanitizer yang digunakan yaitu F1 (10%), F2 (15%) dan F3 (20%). Na CMC digunakan sebagai gelling agent dalam formulasi. Sediaan gel hand sanitizer daun lidah mertua diuji aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Escherichia coli menggunakan metode difusi sumuran, sifat fisik (organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, viskositas, daya sebar dan daya lekat) serta penurunan jumlah angka kuman dengan metode swabbing. Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri gel hand sanitizer ekstrak daun lidah mertua memiliki zona hambat bakteri terhadap Escherichia coli pada F1, F2 dan F3 berturut-turut sebesar 7,33 mm, 8,67 mm dan 9,75 mm. Hasil evaluasi sifat fisik gel daun lidah mertua memenuhi kriteria gel yang baik, namun memiliki daya lekat kurang 1 detik. Hasil penurunan jumlah angka kuman gel hand sanitizer daun lidah mertua paling besar pada F3 sebesar 52%. Namun, analisa statistik dengan Anova One Way menunjukkan bahwa F1 (32%), F2 (35%) dan F3 (52%) tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan dalam penurunan jumlah angka kuman. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan gel hand sanitizer ekstrak daun lidah mertua memiliki kemampuan dalam menurunkan angka kuman dan dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif sebagai sediaan gel hand sanitizer. \u0000  \u0000  \u0000Lidah Mertua leaves (Sansevieria trifasciata Prain) are known to contain polyphenols, flavonoids, and saponins which have antibacterial activity. Ekstrak etanol daun binahong dilaporkan dapat mempercepat penyembuhan luka tikus diabetes melalui mekanisme reepitelisasi dan kolagenasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui gambaran penyembuhan luka diabetes fraksi etil asetat daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) konsentrasi 10% dengan parameter jumlah sel fibroblast pada tikus yang diinduksi sterptozotocin. Metode fraksinasi yang digunakan fraksinasi bertingkat padat cair dengan pelarut etil asetat yang bersifat semipolar. Penelitian eksperimental menggunakan 20 ekor tikus Wistar jantan usia 2 bulan, berat badan antara 150-200 gram yang diinduksi streptozotocin (STZ) dosis tunggal 45 mg/kgBB i.p. Punch biopsy digunakan untuk membuat luka pada kulit tikus dengan diameter 5 mm setelah kadar glukosa darah (KGD) di atas 250 mg/dL. Hewan uji dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok, terdiri dari kontrol sehat (tanpa induksi STZ dan tanpa perlakuan), kontrol negatif (biocream), kontrol positif (madecassol), dan fraksi etil asetat daun binahong 10% (dalam biocream). Aplikasi topikal dilakukan 2 kali sehari sebanyak 25 mg selama 10 hari pada area luka dan sekitarnya. Pengamatan dilakukan secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fraksi etil asetat daun binahong mengandung senyawa flavonoi dan tanin, serta berperan dalam meningkatkan jumlah sel fibroblast (P<0.05). \u0000  \u0000Wound healing process is affected by diabetes melitus condition. The ethanol extract of Binahong leaves has reported to have wound healing activity on diabetic rat through mechanism of re-epithelialization and collagenation. This study was conducted to evaluate the wound healing activity on diabetic rat of ethyl acetate fraction of  Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Tenore) Steenis) leaves at concentration of 10% with parameters of fibroblast numbers in streptozozin induced rat. The fractionation method used was solid-liquid graded fractination using ethyl acetate as semipolar solvent. This experimental research used 20 male wistar rats, aged 2 months, weight 150-200 g, induced by single dose streptozotocin (STZ)45 mg/kgBB i.p. Punch biopsy was used to injured the rat skin with diameter of 5 mm after blood glucose level was more than 250 mg/dL. Test animals were divided into 4 groups, these include healthy control (without induced by STZ and treatment), negative control (biocream), positive control (madecassol), ethyl acetate fraction of binahong leaves 10% (in biocream). The cream was applied topically 2 times a day with an amount of 25 mg for 10 days on wound area and surrounding. The macroscopic and microscopic observation was performed. Kultivasi bagian bunga, daun, dan biji dari tanaman rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) telah lama digunakan oleh masyarakat sebagai bahan makanan dan pengobatan empiris. Hasil penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan tanaman rosella memiliki aktivitas farmakologi sebagai antikanker, antibakteri dan antioksidan. Telah dilaporkan bahwa bagian daun dan akar rosella dilaporkan mengandung senyawa fenolik terbanyak dibandingkan dengan bagian lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik dan pelarut ekstraksi terhadap aktivitas antioksidan dari empat jenis ekstrak daun rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.). Teknik ekstraksi yang dilakukan adalah maserasi, infus dan refluk menggunakan pelarut air dan pelarut etanol. Aktivitas peredaman radikal bebas DPPH teridentifikasi pada pola kromatogram lapis tipis dengan penampak bercak DPPH 0,2% dari seluruh ekstrak daun rosella. Pengujian aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode peredaman radikal bebas DPPH dilakukan terhadap seluruh ekstrak daun rosella, yaitu ekstrak air teknik maserasi (AM), ekstrak air teknik infus (AI), ekstrak etanol teknik maserasi (EM), serta ekstrak etanol teknik refluk (ER). Nilai IC50 ekstrak AM, AI, EM dan ER berturut-turut adalah: 0,00056 ppm (sangat kuat); 0,00057 (sangat kuat); 0,00044 ppm (sangat kuat); 0,00092 ppm (sangat kuat). Metode penyarian metabolit sekunder optimal untuk aktivitas antioksidan pada daun rosella adalah teknik ekstraksi maserasi dengan pelarut etanol (ER). \u0000  \u0000Rosella is one of a native plant from Asia (India to Malaysia) and Africa. The Flowers, leaves, and seeds cultivated from rosella (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.) have been used in folk medicine as food and empirical treatment.  The previous study reported the pharmacological activities of rosella as anti-cancer, anti-bacterial and anti-oxidant.  It has been reported that leaf and root of rosella found to have phenolic compounds as the major components. This research was conducted to evaluate the effect of extraction technique and solvent on the anti-oxidant activity of four extracts of rosella leaves (Hibiscus sabdariffa L.). The extraction techniques include maceration, infusion and reflux with water and ethanol. Scavenging activities of DPPF free radical of all rosella leaves extracts were identified by thin layer chromatography, indicated by DPPH 0,2% reagent. The evaluation of antioxidant activity using scavenging DPPH free radical method was performed to all rosella leaves extract, including water extract by maceration method (AM), water extract by infusion method (AI), ethanol extract by maceration method (EM), ethanol extract by reflux method (ER).  The IC50 values of AM, AI, EM and ER were 0,00056 ppm (very strong); 0,00057 (very strong); 0,00044 ppm (very strong); 0,00092 ppm (very strong). Nanopartikel dibuat dengan metode gelasi ionik, yaitu menggunakan larutan natrium tripolipospat 0,1% dan kitosan 0,2%, Nanopartikel kemudian dikarakterisasi menggunakan Particle Size Analyzer untuk mengetahui distribusi ukuran partikel dan Scanning Electron Microscopy untuk mengetahui bentuk permukaan partikel. Nanopartikel yang dihasilkan berupa serbuk berwarna coklat muda dengan distribusi ukuran partikel 234,49-1479,50 nm pada perbandingan kitosan 0,2% dan natrium tripolipospat 0,1% (5:1). Bentuk permukaan nanopartikel ekstrak etanol daun ekor naga yaitu tidak rata dan membentuk agregat longgar.
