Daun malaka menunjukkan efek hipoglikemia pada tikus yang diinduksi aloksan. Namun, mekanisme kerjanya belum diketahui pasti. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam rangka skrining mekanisme kerja daun malaka sebagai antidiabetes.
